Hi, would it be possible for me to the DVD of this as well? My dad is Mickey Cooper who played for Hendon. He turns 65 this year and it would make a great present. Is there any other coverage of Hendon between 1965-1972? He played in the cup final in 66 even if they did lose to Wealdstone 3-1!
Thanks ever so much for sending my dad the dvds he just phoned me to say they arrived today, he is so happy and wanted me to thank you so much. He has made my mum sit and watch it twice already today, I am going over to see them in 2 weeks and can´t wait to watch it.
Hiya, my Dad was the Captain - Bobby Cantwell - what a great clip. Would you be able to tell me how i can get hold of this or a longer clip to put onto DVD to surprise him.
i emailed kim who put the clip on to youtube and he has sent my dad a copy of the dvd so you could try that way or if not give my dad a ring and he will get a copy done for you im sure, brian owen will have dad´s number as i can´t put it on here, dad watched it yesterday he was so amazed it was actually on dvd, i will let my dad know for you x
In 1960 as an 11 year old I was there wearing a rosette that my mother had made that was bigger than me. What a game and how itmade up for the 56 defeat I was there too and for all of Hendon's Wembly appearances. As a kid my birthday present would always be a Hendon season ticket. These are indeed sad times. the loss of the old Hendon ground a common sign of the times. here's hoping for better days.
thanks so much to whoever posted this video david hyde is my dad and i have never seen this match you made my day it was lovely to watch so proud of him
This is superb to watch. Amateur football was so popular from the 1940`s. I am writing about my local team called Boldmere St Michaels history book to celebrate their 125 years in 2008. They were a top team. Thanks for posting this up. Mick Talbot aka `Jimmy Goggin`
I too was at this match, having travelled up from Torquay the previous day. I supported Whitby (and still do) even in the evil days of the mid/late fifties (Opening match of the 1955-6 season: Whitby Town 0 Durham City 11.
Great days at the Turnbull with Jackie Bolton, Barry Dickens, John Kelly, Frank Waller and many more....
Thankyou so much for posting this clip. I travelled down from Whitby as a 13 year old to see this match and, although we were beaten by a great Hendon side, it still brings back wonderful memories. I'm genuinely sorry to see your team is in such trouble at the moment.
A great game. Almost equaled the 1960 Final for excitement. Those really were the days! Come on you greens!
