@Nahemah27 It's not a woman playing the piano, it's a male artist named Gackt. He is now a solo artist. The man playing the drums, Kami, died. They along with the other members from Malice Mizer are from Japan.

I honestly don't remember how I heard Malice Mizer, I just know when I did I was hooked. When I found that Kami died, I felt so sad and in a ways cheated. Here was this awesome band with AMAZING CONCERTS, I had got to follow and 1999 rolls around when bam! He's dead! :(

Well if ANYONE cares to remember the History behind the break up- I'd blame MANA- rather than the entire BAND about the sourness. Mana is an exceptionally gifted artist- but difficult to work with. In the time that MM was active they went through 3 different vocalists- Gackt being number 2 on that list. Mana is a controle freak and I don't think he liked the direction Gackt was leading them at all- that's my 2cents though. MM <3

He didn't make the funeral because he was at a photo shoot and later on tour and didn't find out about Kami's passing until he returned and heard through through "grape vine" or so he called it. It wasn't very long after the break up, so you can't blame them for being at least somewhat sour towards GACKT. I'm a DEAR till the end, but I'm not going to act biased either.

MM now irritated the hell out of me. I will never know them if not for the fans' spamming at Gackt's forum!

I'm not yet a Dear. Since you are, I would like to ask you in 1999 did Midi:Nette really sued Gackt for breaking his contact? I read it from a Japanese forum. They said in the end, Gackt settle with them by forfeit his rights in MM and pays them a large sum of money in 2000.

His autobiography (came out in 2003) did not include this incident.
