@rjbuckley1271 Thanks for the add. I went to Scotland last year and made some amazing connections that I had no idea existed with my surname, discover my clan name and origins. Brilliant stuff. I'm looking forward to returning soon and seeing more of the land and my people.
Thank you. Am so glad it's not just me! This track changed my life. However, as an Editor... slow the shot rate... use the more remote landscapes but keep the close-ups which work well. Do not edit on the same beat in the bar... it's not a pop video! Use slower crossfades! And never take a single camera shot in more than one direction! (I think there was only one of those!)
@gotz777 : It was taken at the Clan Donald center, in Armadale in the peninsula of Sleat, on the isle of Skye. The inscription reads «In memory of the much loved and admired air-commander Donald MacDonell CB DFC, 1913-1999, 22nd chief of Glengarry. » The raven is the central feature of the Glengarry MacDonalds' crest.
Hi, Thank you jonhedge, I saw the lyrics ,ach , but the meaning in English was only for the main body, not the Name I would like to see what An Gille Ban means in English from the Gaidhlic. Thanks again , it sure is a very lovely song.
Karen Matheson has a voice like no other... it can move me to tears in just a few notes. And this is just a gorgeous film clip - beautifully suited to the music. Thanks so much!
2. @rjbuckley1271, "Don't let it ever happen."
Agreed.Signs of a revival but we need it taught in all schools. No need for German, French nor Latin.

Ma's ann 'gam mhealladh, a ghaoil, a bha thu
If deceiving me, oh love, thou wert
Ma's ann 'gam mhealladh as deigh do gheallaidh
If deceiving me despite thy vow
'Se luaidh do mholaidh ni mi gu brath
Yet chant thy praise I ever will
Ma's ann 'gam mhealladh, a ghaoil, a bha thu
Though deceiving me, oh love, thou wert

Thig, a ghaoil, agus duin mo shuilean
Come, oh love, and close my eyes
'S a' chiste-chaoil far nach dean mi dusgadh
In the narrow kirst where I shall never awake
Cuir a sios mi an duslach Diurach
Lay me down under earth from Jura
Oir 's ann 's an uir a ni mise tamh
In the grave alone is there rest for me
