  • Wow, it's been 30 years? O_o John Belushi is awesome! Best actor ever

  • 30 years ago today.

    Long live John!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • tomorrow is the 30th anniversary of his death.

  • I made a little money off of Belushi's death by betting on Animal House that night at the Meadowlands,as the horse won there for his only time.

  • hmm... fullscreen is strange here.. met this in several vids till now, most are common, but some, like this one, leave the tabs on top and lag badly... what is it? anybody else got that issue?

  • that arrested woman could well be the John Belushi's killer.

  • @arzadi11 I think she did murder him, and that it wasn't just a drug overdose.

  • cocaines a helluva drug

  • She says "at 2:30" at 2:30.

  • @jh51681 lol

  • John Belushi was funny, Ted Koppel was not so funny.

  • the video is 4:20 long...hahahaha

  • Top 5 favorite movies 1941 animal house neighbors blues brothers and I'm gonna say continental divide even tho i haven't seen it--moviestop never seems to have a copy of it. belushi was the best. and i'm only 30 now. he died right after i was born. and I still never get tired of watching his stuff. my dvd collection is basically a shrine to him even tho his body of work isn't very big.

  • @GADawg0422 you should check out going south, he has a small part, but its a good movie

  • Is it just me or does Koppel's hair resemble a helmet? He just needs a face mask attached to that to complete the picture. Belushi was a huge talent. Sad to see him go so young. It was determined that an injection of heroin and cocaine is what killed him. I don't know it it's on youtube but his impersonation of Elizabeth Taylor pigging out on chicken is a must see.

  • Nooooo!!!!!!!

  • My Cousin was a huge Belushi fan growing up back then, ironically his birthday is March 5th.

  • At 2:42 is that the same Lt. Dan Cook that was a technical advisor for Dragnet and Adam-12?

  • Ted Koppel: The little guy with the big head.

  • Seeing him covered in a white sheet was creepy.

  • I love the clip of John there. He's like "What are you looking at?"

  • What a shame this was. I was 16 and was sad for about a minute and then it turned to anger. He will always be remembered.

  • don't fuck around with drugs people, even Jake Blues was no match for that shit

  • When I first heard the news, I was 16 in of all places...a head shop. A place called Jolly Joint on Main Street in Flushing Queens, NYC. The news report came over the radio.

  • I bet John Belushi and Chris Farley are throwing barrels of laughter at audiences up in Heaven. :)

Two comedians, coincidentally at age 33 both died of the same thing, overdose.

Farley idolized Belushi and they both made a name for themselves when they proved big guys can be enormously funny as well.

  • @twist58 Both BIG boys: they'd need strong mattresses up there in 'heaven' !! LOL.

  • He died at the age of 33 and they inially called the cause of death:natual causes

  • In This Clip, From 0:00 To 0:56, It Was ABC News' Nightline Video Open From Friday Night, March 5, 1982.

  • 3:04 hear the phone ringing?

  • @JamaicaDancehallTV yea what about the phone???

  • its been 29 years since he passed rip

  • Man that was a big Body.Smokes,Ludes,Herion,Coke,Booze,Pot, 11 speedballs for Pleasure..Pea Soup..The Brain was 1,300 Grams.It was 300 to 400 Grams bigger than a Normal Brain..Alright, 29 Years ago today.

  • man crazy world o well he's heaven

  • So he was about to do a movie for Paramount...that wasn't Atuk, was it?

  • @jimdeanjr yeah, it was Atuk. Many actors who were associated with that movie have died, including John Candy, Chris Farley, and Sam Kinnison.

There's a youtube video on the alleged Curse of Atuk. I don't believe it myself, really, but it's interesting.

  • @Dirtfire yeah he was considered for a role in that movie. but the movie he was writing in the hotel was a script called; Noble Rot.

  • He's not dead..Just he's on a mission from god.

  • @fraujeanclaude dident you say that on the last 3 videos iwatched lol

  • Comment removed

  • That Women had some Big arms to Lift that 222LBS body full or Coke,Herion,Ludes,Booze,Nicotine and PEA Soup,In the back of the Meat Wagan..She most have really gotten used to that?

  • Ironic that he was in a short film set in the future where he's an old man reflecting on being the last surviving member of the original SNL cast.

  • @KarloR27 i just think you're an idiot for leaving this comment. Just my opinion. Im sure you don't agree.

  • ..."natural causes.." ummhmm.

  • SHE WAS FROM TORONTO !! ( 9!! )

  • "maybe not of international fame."

That is an understatement, he was and is still revered around the world and will be for generations.

  • Im Ted Koppel. I look like Howdy Doody.

  • @56BUICKRiviera Hahaha This cheered me up after the sad clip, thank you !

  • such a shame, so young but did so much

  • @restlessr84 I think comedy died dec 18, 1997 when chris Farley died. Rip to the top two funniest people ever rip to chris & John we will miss you both you two were the only people that made snl what it the best ever. Now snl is not funny any more we will miss you both rip to you all! Hope to see you in heaven when I get there later in life!

  • I LOVED! His samurai delicatessen and killer bees! we miss u john

  • Natural Causes?!?!?! ROTFLOL 33 YO shame Farley too

  • I was only 13 when he died and it was crushing. He was my favorite entertainer for about the next 15 years of my life. Does anyone have the tribute video "west heaven" made after his death by his wife Judy? Can you post it? If anyone reads this who knows Judy could you ask her to post the video on youtube? Would love to see the photos and hear the song again.

  • why the fuck does he keep smiling all through the news?

  • Interesting that the clip is 4:20 long.

  • @TheRealArtzilla why is it? fuckin mug.

  • @dalelacey It's obvious, considering who the clip is about. Look up what it means if you are clueless.

  • @TheRealArtzilla just because he was a drug user? I dont even think belushi was a prolific cannabis user anyway........ americans with their silly little rituals....

  • Robin Williams and Robert De Niro did it.

  • So Sad So Very Sad

  • @sylicone221 I don't believe so, in all the books that I have read and interviews ---people talked about all the crap that John did but that was never mentioned. --his wife was pretty much always with him and she seemed to be the only thing that really mattered to him, so I would be inclined to say no.

  • @yukonjack84 ok, i must ask, did he not have tolerance to heroin? had he shot heroin prior to that night? and why not slam the whole thing at once? a shot every 2 hours? is that too often for speedballing?

  • @sylicone221 I sent a reply to your message! =)

  • Does anyone think Ted Koppel looks like Daryl Hammond?

  • Thanks for putting this up.

  • @LordBicen Very Interesting indeed...

  • Belushi was very cleaver and funny on Saturday Night Live. His movies with the exception of the Blues Brothers were a waste.

And the drug lifestyle left over from the 60s was a total waste.

What kind of sane, positive person combines cocaine with heroin?

Young people, stick with beer and maybe some home grown weed. And don't glamorize drug idiots like this one.

  • @itsareligionofpeace Ever heard of a beast called "Animal House"?

  • The same medicine has killed so many celebrities it's name>,Speedball

  • @Doughnutchef speedball isnt a medicine you idiot

  • A Speed Ball (Coccaine & Heroine) killed this Dude, just like Trevor Goddard and Billy Mays.

Dudes, just smoke weed if your gonna get high. Atleast, noone ever died from Weed... Such a sinful waste of good talent.

  • March 5 1982 was the day comedy died.

  • I was such a few fan of his when I was a kid that I can remember exactly where I was when I heard about this on the radio. In the car with my Dad going to Victoria Station restaurant...and it was raining outside. I was a few months shy of 11 years old.

  • this man was a beast

  • @2012IsALie fuck you

  • @ilovefrankandbeans you are so stupid. i wasnt saying it in a bad way. he was a beast as in he was a big movie star guy. ate great. and was addicted to cocaine and heroine. legendary beast in my book.

  • I can't believe they showed John's body being taken out. I think that was in bad taste.

  • I was in jr. high when SNL started in 1974. I remember how much my brothers and I loved watching it and especially John. It is so tragic that so many talented people have died of drug overdoses and it is even sadder and shocking to me that none of their families seem to publicly acknowledge it and/or try to set up a foundation to stop it.

  • what a terrible day it musta been

  • So talented! Gone too soon! RIP John, you were amazing!

  • Remember calling my cousin back then.

    We both couldn't believe it.

  • Unfortunately, I remember this sad sad day.

  • John was the greatest so many comedians pay tribute to him he was there idol forget the bad remember the good remember john

  • just goes to show... don't do drugs... we lost a good comedian... you know now that i think about it... I only know of his stuff cause of my mom... I was born in 1992 lol... well we still have his brother jim....

  • John was the greatest and we need his kind around today. Farley came after him and since that passing (1997) Comedy as seemed to die in a way along with them. Not saying COMEDY itself is dead, but "their" type of Comedy (and not to mention John Candy) as well. All had so much in common and yet there they were their own person as well. Long live them and it's still a great feeling to come on here and see the impact that John still has! Funny and NEVER FORGOTTEN! YOU ROCK JOHN! R.I.P.

  • It's amazing you know, only 7 movies, if that and a television show and a record label under one band known as the blues brothers and still everyone is still talking about John. Goes to show what impact he had and still has. All we need is a Time Machine to go back and intercept him on the night before (the 4th) and bring him home. Maybe, just maybe then...we'd still have him here. Then again, maybe not. He seemed to be heading down that road regardless if it were that night or any night after.

  • thats what his wife said too, if not then then prob later....who knows they were trying to have a kid, could of changed things...we will never know.

  • Remembering John Belushi today on the 28th anniversary of his passing. I still get a laugh out of watching his old skits today, but there always is a tinge of sadness along with it...

  • Wow...I can't believe it was 28 years ago today.... I was 12 years old when I first saw this...where does the time go? RIP John...

  • @StooGP yes i agree :( il miss him he he has a legend R.I.P. JOHN M8 hope your ok, ok ima stop typeing coz im braking down in tires will almost :( seeya.

  • @StooGP i thought the same thing . lol im 41 so i guess whe are about the same age. lol godbless.

  • @StooGP It's weird growing up on SNL in the 70's & being older than Belushi.

  • @StooGP at the time did u know who he was?

  • @StooGP Totally understand bro, I was 10 years old back then.

  • We will never forget you John. 28 years ago today. RIP

  • 5 March 1982. John you will never be forgotten.

  • 4:20 John, 4:20..........

  • Remember this well back then.

My Cousin was a huge SNL/Belushi fan, he would immitate Belushi all the time and went to many concerts when the Blue Brothers were in town. He called me when this happened, none of us could believe it.

When the book "Wired" came out he got it right away, read it a couple of times and was floored by it.

  • "Wired" was pehaps the best book I ever read. I've actually gone through two copies as they just fall apart when read hundreds of times. I know it backwards, and it still fascinates me.

  • You should read Judy Belushi's books on John if you want a true picture of John...he wasn't just an addict.

  • I know he wasn't just an addict. He was a brilliant, funny guy. I was so shocked when he died. It is so sad that he basically died by his own hand though. It took his death to shake Hollywood up and reveal the drug usage that was going on.

  • I've read it, I own it...GREAT GREAT BOOK! John was an awesome person in and out. Really a down to earth, funny guy since he could walk pretty much. The Chris Farley Show is another great book, also by Tanner Colby.

They we're planning on having a kid? That's really too bad it never came to be. But maybe some day...some day, we'll have another John to entertain us. Then again, he's irreplaceable and one of a kind! John rocks!

  • It was obviously that lady that they took for questioning, whos name is Cathy Smith.

SOB of a lady, I don't know why some people want to assassinate the most famous.

  • :/ belushi's birthday today - may he rest in peace

  • Isnt this the same guy who announced john lennon's death?

  • Yes, Ted Koppel mentioned Lennon's death, but of course, so did every other newsperson round that time...unless of course you are talking about who broke the story, in which case it was Howard Cosell on MNF

  • @StooGP

    Correct

  • @chandin69 No, you are thinking of Howard Cossell that announced his death on Monday Night Football

  • Because I was in LA, I spotted the Chateau Marmont (and I knew it bc of Lindsay Lohan) but doing the research (through wiki) I learnt about the death of this talented actor who'll turns 60-years-old...

    So sad

  • only the good die young

  • it looks like that bastard is getting ready to smile and laugh

  • sad... =/

  • A tragedy on a truly awful scale..RIP John.

  • i was born two months later in may guess thats how life if a man dies and a baby is born

im older now and doing cocaine it sucks

  • Cocaine is just the pits..don't bother..you ain't missing anything!! Heroin? Now that's great fun!! (the last part of this comment was just me trying to be funny btw..it is a 'joke'..it's a shite drug just like cocaine..don't waste your life on what is tantamount to 'swapping your innocence for the manipulative ways of a hard drug user in order to beg, borrow & or steal..just to get your several daily fixes')..Think before you leap in please..& be careful kids? Cheers & peace ^_^ xxxx

  • This was a sad day. Here at home, they had been showing old SNL shows on syndicate at the time, so we were seeing a lot of Belushi when he died.

  • I remember that day. I was kid at the time. That was a horrible Friday.

  • death of a great great legend

  • I was 10 at the time. It was such of a shock. You can't help but wonder what else he would have gone on to do in his career.

  • I was born 2 years after John had already died...I was born a Belushi fan and growing up I have always tried to avoid pictures and video of him under that white sheet... watching this video I couldn't help but feel a little sick that he was taken away in a dirty brown van....

  • Dont Fret, you may meet him some day.

  • just terrible
