DSLR will always be a wannabe video camera. They are have about 25% of the overall functions of any profession video camera. ALSO how can we trust your comparison with different focal lengths and different F-stops. I mean, I understand maybe you didn't have the same lens for each but you didn't even both to frame both camera's the same. DLSR is not the future... it just needs to be justified because it's cheaper.
I have done an extensive research about this camera before i bought it last year so if anyone has questions or he is a beginner and has just bought the AG-AF100/101 i will be glad to share my experience with you about this camera.
The 5D is nice with it's larger sensor, but the 3 ND filters/ 2 uncompressed XLR with Phantom inputs/ Very little or no aliasing/ moire and rolling shutter/ Very clear flip out HD LCD/ view finder/ 2 card slots/ Really long battery life/ 12 hour recording limit/ HD-SDI out for 4:2:2 10 bit footage and a better compression made me decide to buy the AF100!
Not to mention being able to shoot 60frames a second in full 1080p!
I have them both and it really depends on the project. If audio is needed etc. I think they both have their needs and when comparing i think it needs to based on the end user not the equipment.
You can't really compare the bokeh, they're different focal lengths, hence, different DOF. A 25mm at 2x crop is NOT the same as a 50mm. Its the center part of the image that a 25mm produces.
Thanks for making this comparison...I disagree with the comment that the AF100 was exposed incorrectly; I think this shows that given identical exposure conditions, the 5D produces a superior image with less grain and more beautiful bokeh. It *appears* as if the subject is closer to the lens with the 5D, because I see either a little more distortion of her face with the 5D or a little more flattening with the AF100. I would have liked to see the test include an APS-C sensor camera like the 7D.

I would have to say the Panasonic AF100 for the overall win. There's less noise in the background in comparison to the Canon's.

5D wins. I wish they would have backed up a little to give us the same perspective.

@dapoopta how you figure that, AF101 shoots in raw, 5D is limited.

Interested to know which lenses you used. You seem to have exposed the 101 incorrectly?
