@fallenromeo5 I've found that Power Pro (50 - 65# test) seems to work as well as anything else. It's readily available at most retailers and it's competitively priced.
Nice fishing there. do you ever fish southeast wisconsin? I'm still learning how to bass fish but I do have to say it's addicting. Still trying to find some good areas around here but unfortunately I don't have a boat so I am quite limited.
@danadame8 Thanks! I fished for bass for many, many years with no boat. SE Wisconsin is a bit tricky because the lakes are pretty populated with private land owners. I would suggest that you look at smaller park ponds and maybe small to medium rivers and creeks. Keep at it! You'll find em!
I mean seriously...it was "posted" in February. Not filmed in it dude. B4 u go n make Hmong people look bad as though we are all dumb and uneducated, pay more closely attention to the videos u watch on YouTube. If u disagree w/me then change user name that it doesn't represent us all...
The fish has spat out ur lure already. After losing a few and landing a ton...you'll get the timing and hook sets right. No on turns pro over night. Good luck!
U know u have a fish on when u feel a light tug. I usually wait for a second tug before I set the hook (second tug usually means the fish has taken the lure into it's mouth) or for guys who can't tell, it's also usually when the fish starts swimming with ur lure (you'll definitely notice ur line moving in the water.) Depending on what type of soft plastics/lures u are using, a lot of times, a second tug doesn't always mean the fish has taken the lure. There's still a possibility t
@tubefish123 Most of the time you'll know right away. With the heavy sinker and no-stretch, braided line bites get "telegraphed" through the rod pretty quickly. And you'll want to set the hook quickly because the fish has a lot of junk to get tangled up in. Get them up and headed towards you as quick as possible. Thanks for asking.
@Jplicit It's a custom, one-of-a-kind that a friend made for me. It's 7'6 heavy with a medium fast tip. There are lots of companies making "punch" specific rods. Thanks for the question.
@wisconsinhmong Nice catch, but like I say right in the video, this is filmed in the middle of summer. I just finally got a chance to edit and post it in February. I promise you it is filmed in WIsconsin. Thanks for watching!
That was quite the video. Excellent production software, whatever it was that you used. I use a lot of left-handled casting reels, but haven't looked for one in the flipping reel genre. They really do put your power hand in control for spinner and buzzbaits so I suspect that the same advantage would be realized for flipping. Again, loved your video.
@masterbassrocks1 I went last week! It was AWESOME! we caught nothing but 4s and 5s... we had a shot at some big mommas but the weather turned on us after we finally found the fish and they shut down. Going again in a few weeks. Ill have to let you know how it goes!
awesome vid, finally a video of punching for bass in WISCONSIN where i live!! was wondering why you weren't punching those weedbeds and only the edges of the reefs?
@madakopee Thanks! It just happened that the bass were positioned in the pockets of the reeds that day. Sometimes I find them under the mats - it just depends on the day.
@masterbassrocks1 so where are the good lakes in Wisconsin to punch for bass?
Lagriffin712 2 months ago
@Lagriffin712 Cloud Lake and Deer lake up in Wabeno Wisconsin. I've been to both and there are awesome.

@Lagriffin712 Actually, the Mississippi River is probably my favorite in WI. The Winnebago Chain is another good call.

@fallenromeo5 sunline fx2 braid is hands down the best braid out there. it never looses its color and is extremely thin.
