this video helped with the question I had : "what happens with the right knee? " I was moving it "back", rotating it with the hip. I see you are supposed to hold it still, flxed.
stack and tilt fails to get the shoulders behind the hips in the backswing. it is essential for hitting solid consistent shots. the hips are left of the shoulders at setup. the hips push the shoulders to the right in the backswing. this ensures the hips to pass the ball before the shoulders in the downswing automatically.
lateral head movement in the modern golf swing happens because the rightside is pulling the leftside over itself in the backswing.. the hips rotate within and up against the inside of the feet. the up against requires a slight lateral movement in the backswing, and gets you back to the middle in the downswing automatically.
At the time this video was made Tiger never used a 5 wood. He only put his 5 wood in the bag over the last few years. This video is of either a 3 wood or driver, I would almost certainly say driver.
He only uses the 2 iron in the British Open, he even took the 2 iron out the second day of the British, which may be why he had problems putting it in play. He mainly uses his 5 wood these days, he says he carries the 5 wood 265 and the 2 iron 235 on a good day, which is why he made the switch.
It isn't very nice to blatantly claim people are stupid when you are wrong. This is before Tiger's Nike clubs days. He's playing the Titleist 975D Driver. (Yes I see he's wearing a Nike hat, he had Nike as a clothing sponsor, before helping Nike design golf clubs.)
It was actually the 975J driver he was using. And this was before they redesigned a driver for him to use, and by redesign I mean take a mold of his titleist and slap a Nike logo on the bottom. I think this was the 00 PGA so yeah this was when he had the Nike Irons, but three wood was the 975 F that he used until '05 and the 975 J driver.
coll camera vision, one question guys: can somebody who is capable say how my swing is? look at my video i have uploaded. im happy about any serious response.thx
I definately agree with you, just like how you might do math or the way you spell words. Sometimes its only yourself that sees something in an action as someone else might see something diffrent.
yall are dumbasses, yes closing your stance promotes a hook. also, a lot of the guys on tour have the same sequencing and thats what makes their swings so repeatable. even though tiger is the best player he is not the only one with a good swing. also, he hasn't shortened his driver swing at all, he tries to hit it as far now as he ever did. dumbasses, don't know anything bout the game
everyone on tour creates leverage for exact power. leverage is achieved by applying force against the ground. this leverage should drag the clubface away (not the hands). every body part from the ground up should be controlled through this leverage in order (like a whip's sequence). reaction to the action that has come before it. the reason why tiger looks different compared to almost everyone else on tour is a matter of sequence. his right shoulder is pulling (controlling) his right arm.
the only way to do this, is to wind it up 1st in the backswing. if the upperbody winds up 1st and the lowerbody follows, physics state that the upperbody will lead the downswing. if the sequence is correct (lower leads upper back and forth), the unwinding sequence will create lag automatically (i.e. hands being ahead of the clubface).
Dude, the upperbody leads going back and the lower body leads coming down and through. The backswing starts at the head of the club and ends at the feet. The down swing starts at the feet and ends at the club head.
Not difficult at all if you have no self doubt whatsoever and can do a perfect swing every time. But, y'know, no one's been able to completely clear their mind since Ben Hogan, and even he started to lose his touch.
That's the reason people suck at golf. Golf is not a game of perfect a geometry exam is.
The day I let go of the 'perfect swing' concept was my path to scratch golf. Golf isnt' the study of Human anatomay or bio-mechanics. It's implementing a few fundamentals in your own unique way. Start with the Grip, aim and work on contacting the ball with your hands ahead of the club face.
the shift forward before going backwards sets up a lower-body precoil which carries the upper-body coil to the top. this sequence creates seperation from the two halves. the coil is around, and the sequence (both backwards and forwards) is from the ground up.
I believe the resistance he creates from the ground, actually control his shoulders like two gears.
I bet he wore that hat to make a few videos uknowwhatimean?

I never realised just how much his head moved, untill watching this, I changed my swing because of it and it's given me at least ten extra yards.
GoonerAlias 4 years ago
steady head is good, but u gotta realize his eyes dont see this, b/c his head can turn and his eyes stay on the ball.
sportsman214 4 years ago
Tiger has a great swing. But he has shorted it so he can gain more control but less far and closes his stance cause he sometimes gets a hook.
look at the feets "smarthead" he turns the feet to the right "upwards" and therfore closes it

Before it was perfect, everything was perfect, i lost practice after that, and when i played again on the field everything was just horrible.
i can barely make it to the green on 2.
