I totally agree. This camera SUCKS! You have to manualy switch the lighting condition EVERY time you start it up.. the field of view is narrow.. blah! It's just no good!.. If you want a camera recomendation, I have a Canon Powershot SX130IS which kicks ass for 200 bucks. 720 is the highest it goes, but the lens is so nice that it's a world better then the fricken HPV5040u... The MOV file size is huge and the batteries go quick, but they're rechargeable AA's. It's not hard to have 6 extras handy.
@nonayabeesnas I definitely tested the video quality, and the camera was working fine the week leading up to the wedding. But when it came to brass tacks, it failed horribly.
Sorry you had so much trouble with your HP. I find two things affect the end results. First lighting. Any camera under $900 is going to need lots of light to do a good job. Next is the editing computer. A high end video card with lots of RAM memory is needed to make the final product smooth. Indoor shots with non-low light camcorders will come out grainy and dim. Also decompressing the audio section on the H.264 file format is tricky on these new cameras.

Mine works fine, but think about it, why buy a 200 camera for an event like that? Pay for a professional video producer in those cases my friend.

DDUUDDEE
MINE WORKS FINE WITH A COUPLE WHITE PIXELS HERE AND THERE
YOU GOT A MESSED UP ONE
ITS LIKE A PROBLEM IN MANUFACTURING
PLUS.... YOU SHOULD HAVE TESTED THE VIDEO QUALITY BEFORE FILMING A *WEDDING!*
The funny thing is now I know why my OLD video camera does the pink green white thing
