  • So you go to the effort of using renewable timber from America/Canada and then you ship it to Asia for the cheap labour in manufacturing, then you ship it back to America? With all that shipping, what was the point of using renewable timber again?

  • Mullen is bad ass and I have an Enjoi with Tensors but I'm going to try and buy American from now on.

    Pocket Pistols perhaps?

  • @cmonty72 Karma is pressing his decks in Cali, so is Assault

  • rodney's voice trips me out. i have no idea why but it just does

  • look at all those asains

  • chińczyki się starają ale i tak deski się łamią szybko ;d

  • no isttt suck

  • cool video :)

    rodney manufacturer :D

  • nice

  • mine split through the middle plys, but not throught the top or bottom of the board on the 14 day i had it!

  • Buy during the beginning/middle of fall. The board will be of better quality because they don't rush to fill the orders. Also there's no warping, contracting, or contrasting from heat or moisture. I just bought a Mullen board, and its chipping slightly on the side because the extreme heat of where I live (about 105 F) as compared to the warehouse I bought it from (approx. 87 F).

Also the moisture level in the planes and trucks they were delivered in.

All of these effect the quality of the deck.

  • @thenewpunkrockkid

105 degrees? Here in Vegas were getting 110-115, lol. Now that is HELL! Especially excercising (skateboarding)! Hey, quick question, do you know if DarkStar (Armor Ply) is/are DSM manufactured? And are DSM products made in China? Also, are any decks made in Japan or the USA? Are any trucks made in Japan or the USA? Thanks in advance, and thanks for the helpful info to buy during early Fall.

  • @thenewpunkrockkid Just buy a board and shred it pieces.

  • (continued)

Also, you shouldn't really do tricks on a board until you've broken it in. That could take 1 - 3 weeks. It's best to ride a deck for some hours before you really do tricks to break it in properly.

And, a little off topic, if it's a Mullen board you bought, or anyone who's bought one, keep in mind that he is mainly a freestyle rider. He doesn't usually do big stair gaps or big air tricks. He does mostly pogos, kickflips, and premos. Basically, old school with new school tricks.

  • sweet vid mullen!

  • Trust me that board chips you should get the armor ply i have that one its fucking strong

  • @sk8ersynistersean

Oh man I know hat you mean, right now I am trying to figure out if ArmorPly is made by Dwindle/DSM, or if DarkStar is some other independent manufacturer, but ArmorPly is BY FAR the strongest (heaviest too) deck I have ever ridden, its absolutely scary. I mean, 8 hard rock maple veneers, superbonding epoxy, AND carbon fiber? Fuck...!

  • holy crap a trick i havent seen from the mutt " WHOA ! :) rodney when is the new globe vid FULL LENGTH comin out ? AND WHEN WILL THERE BE THE FIRST TENSOR MOVIE :(

  • tensor movie? I don't think they make skate vids on trucks.

  • this vid help me alot!!!! :)

  • Dwindle Decks are awesome. But I'd have an even better feeling buying them if they wouldn't produce them in china.

  • lead!!!!

  • bigot!

  • @moglimittl if things like sweatshops or cheap asain labor concern you, then perhaps check out 'NOTE' skateboards in the UK. A friend of mine has been riding their boards for about a year and a half now and he loves them. Ive sessioned his board a few times and it feels well made indead.

Also on a side note, iPath shoes are sweatshop free, even make hemp based footwear. Ive owned a tonne of these shoes and they are wicked, really well made.

    Peace

  • that was really interesting

  • damn dude... thats alot of skateboards.....

  • is DSM and Dwindle the same?

and how many skatebrands does DMS make boards to?

  • Hey Rodney, how about having Dwindle make a deck that doesn't CHIP AWAY like all of your freaking decks do?

  • show me a deck that never chips

  • Why you acting like your talking to Rodney? You think he's gonna hop online and read this? Dude he's out there making another god damn trick for us to revolutionise skating. Oh and the deck chipping and shit dude that's life just like how your face is gonna get pounded in if you don't shut up

  • does anyone know the song in the beginning and end of the video?

  • i think when they test the boards they do it too slow no board would snap fast when they are doing it slow

they neew to actually drop a weight on it to test it like it was a sloppy landing

  • i got a darkstar armor light

    there made by this company

  • your best of with a nice deluex board there american made

  • I have talked to some people that have used the impact support boards and they did not like it. For me a board does not have to last long at all just as long as it was the way I liked it while I skate it.

  • great vid, thanks for uploading :D

  • Rodney Mullen at 3:43 tre flip to board slide

  • uh thats caswell berry, watch enjoi.

  • yeah well its not even his style of skating, plus thats not his clothing style. you seriously, need to calm down, before you have like a seizure.

  • ok,but i still hate it when he fucking gets me into this kinda shit!!!

  • whatever dude.

  • seeing the few seconds before and after the switch flip one foot nose manual was cool. great video.

  • it's not china wood. it's 100% canadian maple -- pressed in china. more decks/brands than you think are pressed in china.

  • what is the celebrigh point?

  • wow

  • thats amazing that it takes all that for a skateboard

  • but it shows them being made in China on the video?

  • awesome.....so i guess most of the decks we skated are made in china?

    thanks for uploading the vid

  • some are...the good ones arent

  • do u know any of the decks which are made in china?

i heard element is but im not sure

  • more and more companies are switching to chinawood, since its cheaper. the only big distros i know of that still press their boards in the US are Tum Yeto (toy machine, foundation, etc.) and NHS (santa cruz, creature, etc) Deluxe Distribution, who make Anti-Hero and Real just started pressing all their stuff in mexico...

  • Thanks for uploading, Joe. American decks ftw!

  • moral of the story: pro skateboarders are whiney little punks

    haha thanks for uploading!

  • I appreciate the precision of Rodney's stuff. In particular, I appreciate the precision of Tensor trucks. Now, I hate the trucks -- they just don't work for me - not my style -- but the precision is to be admired.

  • Their work is so precise! Rodney Mullen in a beanie with long hair :)

  • love this video joe thanks for puttin it up!

  • Amazing process.

Give me a board made by hand in the USA any day. Friends don't let friends ride chinese skateboards.

  • o yay third coment im gonna by one of those decks

  • Oh saw this yesterday, was posted on almost site.

It was a great watch, especially how it shows respect for the wood they get.

And it's not all "pf its just trees" it was actually ID tagged and taken from a very environmentally safe place :)D

  • i enjoyed this video =D
