@CaptThickRichard There's a lot of good talent out there.Some of it is pretty obscure,and a lot of those covers are much better than the originals.The Love/Minus zero covers come to mind,and some of the Gentle on my Mind Covers are good in their own right.This cover is the #1 cover of a song on Youtube in my opinion.Never get tired of listening to this one.

I'll give it 4 stars out of 5. Great delivery, and very well done. I like the Elvis-like approach to it...slow and easy. And kudos to the lead guitarist...it sounds genuine on that 6-string.

For the record, there's nothing wrong with the lyrics. I think the fact that it was a #1 hit in '72 says it all.
