The first time I played MW I missed with every scoped rifle (like the Barrett) because I would hold-over based on how many hundred yards from the target. There's a lot of unusual things with CoD; like kids who jump around and shoot or "dolphin dive."  The Battlefield series (like BF3) uses hold-over & lead ahead if the subject is running. Makarov is the main antagonist for most of Modern Warfare 2, and all of Modern Warfare 3 - I don't remember if he was mentioned in Modern Warfare (1), but he was Zakhaev's...aide, partner, associate.

Kamarov is helping Price and Soap. Whether he is actually Kamarov's spy, pretending to help - well, you can see what Makarov's done to him, so... Kamarov also seems to be Czech; Makarov's Russian.
