gotta question, ive got an 85 k10 , witha stock 350 , 4 speed tranny with granny low, with 38x15x15 and a 10 inch lift, and an edelbrock 600 carb. 12 bolt rer end with 3.08 gears the truck pulls the 38s ok but not like i would like. , any suggestions on what gear ratio i should go with for more power would be greatly appreciated.
I got straights and headers. :D 85 GMC 1500 2WD. 2500 rear axle, home made body lift. 8 inch cedar blocks sitting on the leaf springs. All terrain 29x10.50's on the front, 36 inch super swampers on the back. Straights end at the back of the cab. Don't dump or tip out. Stock 350 with a holly 4 barrel 750 double pumper. I'm replacing the push rods and lifters today, but it had to rain T_T I pretty much made my 1500 to a 2500 for working out of it except for the front end.
the rims are fine. some people have never done any real wheelin.why buy fancy rims just to tear them up in the rocks.a buddy of mine got some sweet aluminum boyds for his bronco first wheelin trip tore them up in the ruts.
How did you like the 40 series I have a 81 k10 with 305 and am debating on whether to get the 40 or 50 series. I want something with a nice rumble but not to loud if that makes sense.
i got 2 1/4 pipes w/40s on my blazer, loud and deep with a little crackle sound, and 2 1/2 pipes on my burban w/44s. size in the pipes make so much difference. but honestly i prefer the super 44s
Right. TBI is essentially an electronically controlled carburetor. The injectors sprayed fuel within the throttle body. Not individual injectors for each cylinder.
They are good for cold starts but they lack horsepower, because the stock units are 2bbls 220cfm. You can get 650 cfm holly throttle bodies that are 40% bigger and increase horsepower up to 25%, or you can get the whole intake manifold swap with a 4bbl (750cfm) throttle body for about $1200.
thats great if you have a vehicle with a built motor...other than that theyre fucking obnoxious. The one thing I hate is pickups with dual straight pipes, they sound like theyre going a millon goddamned miles an hour at 35 mph I test drove two mustangs today, one was an 04 GT with an x pipe and no mufflers or cats, the other was an 03 Mach 1 with a mac x pipe and mufflers. The mach sounded way better.

I'm not your guy, pal. I had the truck for all of 3 months. Definitely not enough time to justify buying new wheels for it.

Dont worry about that dickfucker, he probably drives a toyota.

Cowbell?

Just curious why don't you run 3 inch? Better flow and horsepower/torque improvement, not to mention better sound.

Sounds good. Which motor?

Thanks! GM 350 crate motor with TBI
JimChap 3 years ago
That's not the HO 350 is it? What is TBI?
F150TuffTruckman 3 years ago
Nope. Just the regular crate with ported heads and throttle body injection. Not anything special but it pulled its weight and then some.
JimChap 3 years ago
TBI isn't EFI, right? What's the difference?
F150TuffTruckman 3 years ago
Right. TBI is essentially an electronically controlled carburetor. The injectors sprayed fuel within the throttle body. Not individual injectors for each cylinder.
JimChap 3 years ago
So it's an ECC. =) Ha. So you like the TBI better than a normal Carb? I don't hear of ECC's that often - at all.

fuck straight pipe gets annoying as hell after a while, be mint on a strictly mud truck but for a street truck get some mufflers give her a bark

Dude for real? Don't be a tool, go down to my reply to the other guy for my reasoning.

straight pipes arent for douche bags, they are for hot rodders!!
