they both die. Marisi deals 2 damage to Winnover, then they both deal 2 damage. The 1st 2 damage cannot kill Winnover, but the 2nd 2 damage does kill it, while the deathtouch kills the Twinclaws.
no, first strike is like an attack before normal combat damage, so the deadly recluse never did the attack. it's like if you ever unsummon / kill deadly recluse as you declare blockers (not exactly, but a way to think about it)
the new rules are about the combat step and how you assign dmg to multiple blockers. now your attking creatures have to assign lethal dmg to the 1st blocking creature b4 it can assign dmg to the 2nd,3rd, and so fourth.
the old magic rules, you could assign whatever amount of dmg you wanted to each blocking creature without dealing lethal dmg to the 1st blocking one. Deathtouch ignores that rule, and you can assign wuteva u want.
Is there a special explanation about, why a creature with deathtoch ignors the blockers order? Is it part of its ruletext. Or did i miss something in the "A Planeswalker's Primer for Magic 2010: Combat"- video???
So, let me get this straight? you order them then you ignore the order? why dont you just skip that and keep them the way they were? some of the rule changes are stupid. BTW RUNECLAW BEARS SHOULD HAVE BEEN GRIZZLY BEARS!
I like to think of it more like the Pyromancer is throwing a fireball. Whether or not you kill the thing that threw it, the flaming ball of death will still come and hit you in the face.
I really want to talk more about these rules on my podcast, TableGamerWeekly.
Couple Questions:
1. Does this mean you can use regeneration ability of a creature already in the graveyard?
2. What about Phage the Untouchable, it doesn't actually have the death touch ability so does it follow the same rules?

atacke: Deadly Recluse 1/2 Deathtouch

Is the Black Knight death?

removing the pyromancer before he deals damage should stop the damage, that would be intuitive, not this bs that 'the game remembers'.

Now they just have to kill every case that uses "Last Known Information" to make the changes even more consistant.
Pyromancer destroyed before its ability resolves? Then he should deal no damage, simple as that.

Exactly.

They can't do that, then creatures such as Mogg Fanatic and Martyr of Ashes don't do anything
Atmapalazzo 2 years ago 2
They would have to reword them with a zero mana activation cost:
"0: Scarifice Mogg Fanatic. If you do, Mogg Fanatic deals one damage to target creature or player."
That way LKI would be reduced to a minimum .
