dude im running mine on max settings with flawless framerates and all i have is a AMD 2.3ghz dual core black edition with a Geforce 9800GT and 2 gigs of RAM. your computer must be trash. and im running it off of an external hardrive. i can even run crysis on max settings with my cheap set up.
First of all.great gameplay and good video 5/5. second of all this assult rifle..you get it when you first board the collector ship that attacks you,its a bit far from the begging but if you want it so much it's worth it. and i never thought 8800GT is that powerful. now i got my ideas straight.
It's a limit from the Unreal Engine, I think if you google it you can find some fixes but I wouldn't recommend, since it was designed to run at that framerate you could get glitches by removing the limit.
yea yea i know it wont make a huge difference with a 60hz refresh rate but it just feels smoother with mouse input. ive always played with it off even in the CRT days. i dont have tearing anyway
having a computer like that you should know running a game at a higher fps than the monitor's refresh rate causes tearing and doesnt improve quality at all.
@qkenjfettan Your telling me. With even the latest GPU and CPU, and 12gb of Ram I can still only run ME1 at like 30-40 FPS on max settings. Then I put in ME2, which looks 10 times better, and I'm running it at an average of 110 FPS. No idea what is going on there.
Game maybe not be supported well enough for your hardware, you may need to enable vsync or maybe the game its self isn't coded well.... (graphics engine)
@CyphenPhsyX Clearly it's the game engine. The first game wasn't designed to be played on a PC so when they recoded it for PC gameplay it was very buggy and had framerate issues. The 2nd game WAS in fact suppose to be on PC at launch and there for was designed properly to be played on a PC and run just fine.
Definately not my PC though. I use a high-end self-built computer that run Crysis at 50+ FPS on highest setting and 4x AA.
oh i played the same settings my graphic is 470GTX Super OC, i7 2,93 Ghz and 4Gb RAM DDR3

i have unreal tournament 3 running at over 200fps lol
shadowremedy 2 years ago
You probably disabled framerate smoothing, that option is available on the settings of UT3 but not on most of the UE3 games.

why in the hell would you play with Vsync off

you a fps natzi who thinks fps between 25 and 30 is unplayable, and always plays with fraps on to make sure its over 25-30?
i play it on my g50vt lap with a m9800gs (same as a 9600gt) at these settings with fluent gameplay, ofc i have not checked fps but i'm guessing 25-35

Im a FPS nazi? I have never heard that before but ok lol. I reinstalled the game and now get 60fps almost always at max settings :D
massac78THE2nd 2 years ago
x) ah good, i feared there was another one of those who spend way to much on a comp and claims that 30 fps is unplayable :p
Mass effect 2 is actually very stable, if it runs on the unreal 3 engine as i suspect it is no wonder though, that engine is superb!
