The voice clip at the end of the battle is when Mario spins into a wall or something. You normally don't take damage from that.

i actually beat this guy in one go.....it wasn't easy though. i had 2 life points left and 1 more hit for Gobblegut. he NEARLY tried to eat me right when the last blister came around. whew.......now there's the LAST star!

Actually, the voice clip you say is not the "damage" clip. It is the clip that plays when you fail at spinning (like when you try to wall jump the bridge in Boulder Bowl but fail)

green gobblegut is easy the orange one is kind of hard and then fiery gobble gut, which is very hard

@RagingGigastar There are only two Gobbleguts in this game: The original one in Bowser Jr.'s Fiery Flotilla and this one.

@TheRubezavala Those are exactly what you think they are--they are Green Stars. When you get 120 Stars, the Green Stars will show up in each galaxy. Think of it like a second quest.

I don't see how you can get hit AFTER he dies. So in other words, you just did a daredevil run and a speed run together.

@kaizoisevil Oh, he does. The game still checks to see if Mario's come in contact with Gobblegut during the cutscene. However, Mario doesn't take damage, probably because it'd be unfair otherwise.

How come during the last 3 hits, Gobblegut didn't immediatly hit you? For me, during the last 3 hits, he materialezes 3 feet away from his tail, and I can't even get a hit in without getting hurt. How come your gobblegut came so far away?

What I did here was burst the last three bulges on him first, since he's slower then. I move a bit between each one so Gobblegut's head misses when it passes by. Then, I burst the first three when he's mad because there's no time to do it otherwise. Again, I move a bit between each one so Gobblegut's head misses Mario.

@Pokemariofan107 Remember to move Mario a bit between each spin. If you're just moving a little bit or not moving at all, Gobblegut will ram into Mario.

@Pokemariofan107 That's why you need to watch out for when he slams into the ground so you avoid any lava pools around the area. For instance, in this video, I made sure that none of the lava pools he creates goes anywhere near Mario.

The thing that's different between Dino-Piranha, Fiery Dino-Piranha and Gobbleguts and Fiery Gobbleguts is that Fiery Dino Piranha is NEEDED to advance through the storyline, whereas Fiery Gobbleguts is hidden and isn't necessary to advance.

It didn't sound like Mario got hurt during the cutscene. Rather, it sounded like he was trying to do a spin, but a wall was deflecting it.

@darkdragoon1000 Well, I did do this under Daredevil conditions.

I found it to not really be that much tougher than the first Gobblegut, especially since I played the two of them in succession. (There was one request right after the other regarding the Gobbleguts.) If you found it a lot tougher, then that's your style of play. With mine, the lava pools and the fact you can't touch Gobblegut didn't affect my approach too much.

It's impossible to finish this without getting hit as the game continues to check if Gobblegut hits Mario into the cutscene. However, Mario doesn't take any damage so it doesn't count.
