One thing I will ad on to my comment to

RyunSharp is that just because you forgive people for hurting you, doesn't mean you have to stick around for more.

Accepting people for who an what they are so that you don't live your life in hate is about being good to yourself. It's not about continually putting yourself into situations which are then bad for you out of some blind loyalty to the idea of forgiveness.

You can avoid hate just fine while removing destructive people from your life.

I can say with 100% certainty...that your advice saved a few peoples lives...and more importantly than those worthless pieces of lying shit...its given me a better perspective on being fucked over and lied to by the girl who told me she wanted me to be the father of her kids. At least i kept the reciept...and now i have the time to focus on the people that matter, and less time in prison. Thanks again Dave!

I have actually stopped a couple fights by taking a hit to the face and just standing still and smiling at the person who hit me. lol

Some drunks decide a second hit is in order so it's best to just calmly snap off whatever they happen to swing in your direction an give them directions to the ER :)

Also, it wasn't just an excessive, it was the monks only defense against bandits... and thus most martial arts focus on disabling your opponent, rather than killing them. Because if they can't fight, they'll likely run... assuming they have a brain.
