Remember, Castlevania series are been there since 1986, lots of different Belmonts in different games.

@Drunkendunker The "dream team" you 're talking about had several flaws. Symphony was their only success. I don't fancy Ayami's androgynous depiction of characters, nor IGA's absurd scenarios (Sorrow series) Only Yamane did a flawless job as a composer. Lament & Curse had nice plot & outstanding music but everything else was average, in Curse's case even worse. Lords of Shadow has a genuine Castlevania feel (gave me a SCIV flavor) and excels in most aspects. I've fully completed all these games

@TheParnak Lords of Shadows seemed a bit too God of War-esque for my taste. I just wish a game with as great a background as Castlevania would stay faithful to its original style. Sure there's always room for improvement in new gen 3D games, but it's beginning to seem like they're all turning into the same game, only with different plots (Dante's Inferno, Castlevania etc).

If there were a game that doesn't, I 'd say Dawn of Sorrow As far as gameplay goes, it has the best gameplay than any other Castlevania 3D Don't trouble yourself with esque-stuff, remember when GoW was first released, many said it borrows gameplay from Lament of Innocense.. What matters is the improvement of action oriented gameplay, so long as you use a cool chain whip against undead hordes, or to swing gaps like in SCIV snes

This game is pretty much where the series didn't evolve. Thats whats wrong with this series, don't get me wrong im a long time die hard fan. But the series needs a breath of fresh air. But these japanese developers are quick to stand fast to the old ways. And in this day and age with the ever expansion of next gen, you have to keep going. They can pull it off, they just need to be patient. just like everybody else.
