What a Great Sound. My father had this same engine in his 1947 25 ft Sea Beaver made by Montreal Boat works for the RCMP which patroled the Lake of Woods form 47 to 57 when he bought it as our family cruiser. Brings back fond memories. Thanks for posting it.

This reminds me of my first car, a 1951 Plymouth 2 door wagon I had in high school in the early 80's. Brings back memories. Those old Mopor flathead dodge, plymouth, etc .. engines were really very stout. There were designed by Mr. Chrysler's engineer friend Breer, Zeider, and Owens who were with him from the Begining. its amazing that Chrysler used these engines from the early 30's to the Late 50's. If it aint broke, then dont fix it. Probably why Chrysler used them so long.Nice !!
I have inherited the IDENTICAL "Chrysler Marine" flathead inline six cylinder engine & transmission unit which is completely rebuilt & ready to be installed . . . it is painted the same "Chrysler Marine Blue" . . . IDENTICAL . . . Is this "Chrysler Marine" engine unit specified as the "Ace" and/or "M47 ? . . . What year is it please ? . . . What is the model number please ? . . . What are the other specifications please ? . . . for example . . . horsepower & torque ratings, etc ? . . . ~ Mark ~
I had a m47 in my last boat. Ran for about 25 years in salt water. Very reliable engine. Replaced it with another M47 that I converted to fresh wather cooling via heat exchanger. Ran 180 temp all day. Great engines nice and simple. I now own a diesel even simpler in a fiberglass boat. 26foot Radon Craft very simple boat.
