@imjustdope For programs, you'd probably have to have a disc with the install files or an executable file that installs the software. You won't be able to transfer an already installed program very easily because once you install a file it puts a lot of other files into different directories. You would have to be able to replicate every folder that every file goes into, and even then you might have trouble because it wouldn't be in the registry. You can transfer the FL files you've created.
can i transfer like, set up files? i have this game called crossfire and i still have the setup file in my "downloads" folder, can i just transfer it over? or do i have o go and download it on my new computer?
@emachines390 I'm not familiar with that game, but I think that you could just move the file from one machine to the other as long as you put the file in the same folder where the game looks for it.
Great video. I found it quite hillarious how the guy didn't seem AT ALL pissed about the fact that some of his apps may not even work on Vista. lol. This is where most people will install the FAR superior XP on the crapola Vista machine. Nice video though!!!!! A+
hai guys recently i installed window 7 beta, n the os ran smoothly. But i found out the system said it did not detect any output jack, i use xp os. Can u solve this problem for me..THKS.
fabian7197, head to device manager, and see if there is any unknown devices. I get output to work on mine. if there are unknows devices, you gotta find the drivers
instead of copying one by one at a time. you could use Windows Xp files and settings transfer wizard. its the most easiest way to transfer everthing including outlook settings, desktop and so on.
If you have a lot of music or photos or videos, get as big a drive as you can find or afford, although some larger drives are not compatible on all PCs. We used 2 GB for this video, but we didn't have a lot of files. If you have a lot of files, you may have to transfer the files over in batches. Or use an external USB hard drive. Or try one of the cable transfer options like Laplink or Windows Easy Transfer.
Well i have 3 files that are more than 1GB so that is already 3 GB plus other important small files so if i get a 4 or 6 GB Thumb Drive will i be able to transfer those files? im using a laptop, Windows XP and my New computer is a Brand new laptop with Vista
Yes, if you get a thumb drive that is larger than all your files combined you will be able to transfer them all at once. If you get for example a 2 GB thumb drive, you may have to move one file at a time.
i have the same old pc and im using a HUB but i dont know how to do this can you guys help im actualy puting my files on my old pc because im demoing a laptop and ive downloaded a lot of stuff to it and i have to return it in a little while but i rely need to transfer my files can u guys make a video or a message and help me ( for example my itunes music ive boght on my demo laptop, i want to transfer it but i have no idea how to do this)

one option would be to take the old hard drive out and connect it to your new pc with a sata cable, so now you got two hard drives

@imjustdope Or you might try contacting the company that makes the software to see if you can get a copy of the same software for your new PC.
