However, abstaining from a life of crack-cocaine and arms dealing would have prevented Bell's death. The police officers could be described as loving Christian fathers with children and wives as well. They deal with drug dealers every day, and they could be killed at any moment on duty. The cops may have overdone with the shots, but that doesn't excuse the fact that Sean Bell evaded arrest and hit a police van, and injured a police officer in the process.
