I have been a Styx fan since the late 70`s although they are still the real deal. They was better with Dennis, this is my opinion only!! Infact with Dennis the song writing was much better....

Dennis is the real winner not having to deal with them anymore, he can do whatever he wants while they will NEVER be able to out do what they did back in the 70s

They should NOT be allowed to play Dennis DeYoung's songs any more. They want nothing to do with him, they are trying to erase that he was ever in Styx. He should be able to keep them from using his songs.

Let's take a vote. DD and his sorry ass band or the true rockers in this band. Case closed. I have seen this band many time since the early 70's and as of late, Gowan, not DD, kicks this band's ass....hands down. DD fans go to his show and support him and we will keep supporting the real Styx!!!!

Does anyone know when their new concert DVD is suppose to come out? Will it be in stores or only available at the concerts like the Regeneration albums?

I think its natural for styx fans to miss dennis, he had lots of talent, a great voice, and an excellent organist. But he had to take time off in 1999 and Styx went on without him, as terrible as it sounds, thats unfortunatly how life works...But Gowan is a very good singer and keyboardist! Styx in 2011 is still Styx.

@fanostyx LOL... I with ya... Dennis was great for the band for the 1st 10 years but it was always about him.. He thought he was the leader and there was no leader.. it was a shared thing.. but he got to big for his pant... lol... Seen them 12 times.. and they get better and better everytime... tommys voice is a well oiled machine....

This is the height of hypocrisy!  These guys open the show with all Dennis" songs which all rock, yet a guy like JY basically said that Dennis does not rock.

i love styx, my dad showed me some styx music when i was a kid so they have been one of my favourite bands for a while. but i could never figure out why they have 2 bassists. I know that Chuck Panozzo was sick and they had a replacement for a while but i dont understand why they need two bass players, can someone fill me in?

@musicfan101ful When Chuck who is HIV positive plays' bass Ricky picks up the guitar. Chuck was a founding member of the band, and he never plays an entire show.

Now, now calm down spiglator. Dennis is one of the greatest SONGWRITERS of his time. But this version of STYX is much better than Dennis'. And yes, I have seen Dennis' new stuff. Good, but with Tommy Shaw, James Young, and Lawrence Gowan on the same stage? These guys are amazing still today! Dennis would not be able to keep up with these guys for a whole show. Plus Gowan is an amazing entertainer. Dennis should come back and write songs for these guys.

@TommyRockingShaw I have to disagree with you. Tommy is 57, JY is either 61 or 62. Dennis is 63 and really should dye his hair. Gowan is very good but he is no Dennis. Dennis still does 2 hour shows without breaking a sweat. I saw him in Atlantic City and he rocked and moved around the stage like before. Like I said, Dennis should Dye his hair, both Tommy and JY do. As for calming down your right. If a bunch of millionaires don't want to play with each other who am I to tell to do so?

@spiglator i see dennis whenever he comes within 3 hrs drive time of me, ive seen him 5 times this year, although his sound is untouchable they do not blow styx away. if you want to go and enjoy a nice night out and have a glass of wine and hear some great songs sung the way they should be sung then go see dennis. if you want to chug some budwiser and rock out to a kick ass concert than go see styx who ive seen 4 times this year, both are a great time

I was there!! Scored tickets at the last minute. All three bands did great - but Styx really rocked the night!! They sound amazing live. I have been on a buzz ever since. Going down to Waukegan IL to see them in October! ROCK ON!
