  • Rap really died when then poverty thugs peverted the art.

  • @delirous8 this was the birth of hip hop, but i thinnk that thugs started using it in the 90's they only added more flavour and entertainment to the music but today it is only about bitches drugs and money

  • I just saw Kurtis Blow tonight at the Legends of Hip Hop and he rocked it. On top of that he came up to us and asked if we wanted to take a picture with him and chatted it up with us for a minute. A true entertainer.

  • 50 years old he and he sounds as if he was 24 years old simply amazing.

  • omg lets see some of those rappers nowadays makin a song and performing it after 26 years :D this is a classic

  • Kurtis is like the oldest rapper ever. also one of the greatest

  • @BizzTheFunk he did start rap so i guess he must be the oldest

  • Kurtis.the king of rap.

  • There is a reason why this era was dubbed the Golden Age of Hip Hop

and then the second Golden Age in the 90s.

It's like now this past decade is the Dark Ages for rap music.

  • @WiseUp89 thats because rap has entered mainstream. like big mainstream, so most people associate rap with that, and take their eyes off the legends.

  • GRANDPA STYLE !!! :D

  • omg this is so classic

  • this is back then when hip hop was fun for everone, now most of it is just southern booty club music.

  • Immortal. I swear. Like a timetunnel in my best years ever.

  • first 12 in. album i had. wheres his props?

  • Kurtis Blow remains to this day as my favorite rapper of all time. It didn't matter what he rhymed about. It was real and it was fun! Thanks for posting this :]

  • Kurtis is alive. He brings a true beat.

  • da matti.

  • he's still doing it!!!!!! he needs to button his shirt though =/ still, amazing performance!!!!!!

  • it made me smile to see kurtis blow break it down in this vid.. he def puts his heart in this performance. Bravo!!

  • It breaks my heart to see him perform on that crappy stage and that they are so few in the crowd.

  • Well to be fair this is in Germany, but yeah I doubt he's doing much better in the states unfortunately.

  • What a fun time and Kurtis Blow was so very Kool, This was real Hip Hop. I miss those days.

  • lol best video I've seen this morning.

  • *O* wow

  • Classic

  • thanks a lot, i was at this concert, so fucking awesome, one of the best concerts i´ve ever been, Kurtis is a really nice guy

  • whos that??, KURTIS JACKSON??

  • agree 10000% with cross, music is dead now. the artists are complete garbage, il write u song that could be a #1 hit today..

yooo yo yoyoy, bitches hos clubs bitches yo,

then just add some shitty beat and say the same line over and over, who knows soulja boy or w\e did it

  • HAHAHAhaaaaa! funny and sad at the same time!

  • Looking god Mr.KB, looking good! Older men are so much sexier! He still has it!

  • HES SO DAMN GOOD AND SO ORIGINAL!

  • He should play here inthe US, but that's sick he plays in Germany too- this new school crap really sucks- this just makes yea wanna partyy.

  • I know huh Modelcit. I hope I look that good still funkin in my older days.

  • Go Kurtis!!!!

  • YES!!!!!

  • Tha Originator!!!

  • yeah this shit is way better than all this new crap.. honestly im sick of this chris brown shit.. they only sing about sex and about being cool and players and stuff.. see this music is about the fun...

  • co-sign

  • Old school rap 4ever!

  • grandpa kurtis still got it!

  • The old school is about having fun, he says. He is the man, a true living legend. The more I hear this the more I like it. God bless Kurtis.

  • @Modelcit Sure thing he's still a badass!

  • Iam 13 and i love old school hip-hop :)

Just a shame not many do it nomore.

  • i saw kurtis in like 79, as the MC, of the concert, and he would wind up the crowd between acts; it was incredible, the purest hip-hop I had probably ever experienced

  • no he didnt! kurtis blow is about 90 yrs old and he up there breakin! get em!

  • I just came home from his concert...he came together with sugarhill gang and grandmaster flash man he rocket the house

  • Classic... Kurtis Blow!

  • 29.03 in Köln mit Melle Mel und der Sugarhill Gang.Last euch das nicht entgehen !!!!!

  • man i would give anything to live in that era. sadly this is my talentless era. back than muxic meant something now its just a bunch garbage. its sad how kids of this generation have no taste in music.. dam i hate 2008

  • Da Real Hip Hop !

  • Breaks 4 ever !... B-Boys rock da House ! .. nice

  • This is the real 'shit' :D This is HIPHOP people! :P

  • I didnt know KB was still performing. I wonder if he will be doing some spots in the states!

  • i agree only a few new rappers ahve the skill set Kurtis Blowhad, he can rhyme dj, dance, and graffiti..a true b boy, before it was called that...he learned how to rap from d.j. hollywood,. the first rapper ever, he was the mc for dj kool herc,

  • hip hop is all underground now, a few artists sometimes break through and make good hip hop thats mainstream like fort minor for example. i hate how this new crap they play on the radio claims to be hip hop, it just makes me sick inside.

  • I've been calling it Hip Pop

  • per capita, more germans speak english than americans speak german.

  • lol cheers for that u learn a new thing evry day don't you lol

  • They probably spell better than most Americans, too. o_O

  • I hate hip hop. Infact I loath it but I love this. This isnt hip hop this is quality. After 1980 Im afraid music just went downhill.

  • i love hip hop, and this dude is right duing the 80s you could defend hip hop as music.

and i like the hard shit that came out the the early 90's/ but the music comin out now is crap

  • I'm not really into hiphop but I agree with Criss Rock and he said "In the early days it was easy to defend HipHop but now, how do you defend, to the window, to the wall, to the sweat drip from my balls".

  • and the music has just gotten worse. i mean that soulja boy shit, thats not music its just some dude repeating him self over and over, he made a dance so hes hot, without the dance hes nothing..

rappers now need to make a dance to get radio play and none of them have any real skills.

  • your right, hip hop died in the middle 90's.

  • you'r right, hip hop died in the middle 90's

  • Hip Hop is shit now

  • that is a bit like your mother in bed then

  • Oh man what soulful music, how nice was it back in the days when hip hop was a fresh son of music

  • awesome track!!!!

  • real stuff, not the fluff of today's shite

  • Kurtis rulez da wurld, if ya all know wut I mean...

    : )

  • It was in the old BABALU CLUB in Munich Schwabing... PARTY!!!!!!

  • shit who wasnt

  • i will always respect kurtis for what he did for hip hop... but please never forget he WAS a sellout... did commercials for mountian dew???

  • I guess all the new rappers are sellouts then, because every rapper does commercials and sells their souls everytime they turn around. Kurtis was a pioneer who became big and took advantage of opportunities that came his way. Can you blame him? Can't say I would turn down a lucrative endorsement deal.

  • From the vids I've seen here on YourTube, he puts on better shows outside of the U.S. compared to the ones filmed inside the U.S.

  • check my video and look out for kutis blow@liveDeno!

cool show in munic in munic 2007 (muffathalle.

  • God made dirt, so dirt don't hurt! Lil' gurl don't let your mouth write a check your behind can't cash. I bet you thought that was "old as dirt" too, huh? But Kurtis is what's real!

  • nybody who says this sux obviously listens to shit and has no life because Kurtis is the Godfather of Hip-hop and ny1 who says he isnt needs to listen to som real music

  • ahhh i love this song that dude still gots it in him lolz

  • This song is cool :D

  • kurtis! still rockin after all this time. he's fantastic. i'd rather hear this any day than two thirds of the crap out today. especially where hip hop is concerned.

  • 'Just throw your hands up to the sky, wave around from side to side, if you deserve a break tonight some body say 'Alright!'. Kurtis for ever! Ya don't know shit about hip hop until you know where it came from! WORD...

  • OLD, OLD? A FUCKING PARTY YOU MEAN! Rappers of today don't even have the SPIRIT and CONDITION! Jezus people , you are old if you find this a annoying performance. Dream on in front of your TV hahaha

    Kurtis, break on!

  • The only MC that can approximate the Titan MC is Common. He's 34 and can still out-MC about 98% of rappers and still breakdance, plus he has Sprite commericals. BEP still holds the spirit of the Kurtis Blow style of hip-hop, but its hard to find it in their recent surge of commercialism.

  • He's old as dirt.

  • Kurtis Blow still rockin'.

  • i love this sing this is the 80's hip hop i love this

  • The Fat Boys and Kurtis Blow were the first tapes I bought back in '85. This is a legend and a pioneer of rap right here!!

  • morgen ist er im Speicher in Rostock!! lohnts sich hin zu gehen?

  • Kurtis Blow rocks!

wär ich ma in münchen gewesen...

  • Hammer!! Damit bin ich GROß geworden!! Ich flipp aus!! Super Video! Hab noch die LP´s im Regal stehn, ich wär auch besser in München gewesen. THX for sharing!

  • ...One of my tribe's adage says 'an old woman is never old when it comes to a dance step she knows'

  • stop hating hes doing his thing rap on curtis

  • Glad he's doing alright.

  • Classic hip hop but my god does Kurtis Blow look old, he's lost all his muscles. When my dad got to the U.S. he told me one of his first favorite rappers was Kurtis Blow, I grew up listining to him in the 90s.

  • this guy has what he had back in 1980 - talent.all this modern rap is horseshit

  • Kurtis Blow is one of the people who got me into rap back in the day. Back then you had to have talent, but nowadays it seems any fool who can rhyme gets a record contract....

  • Everybody ages. We just haven't seen our hip hop icons do it yet. Ask me he's still got it-That was awesome. Wish I was there.

  • Well said.

  • Something about somebody close to 50 years old rapping with their shirt unzipped and break dancing that just isn't cool. Still love the song though.

  • There should be some dancers to help him. The song is cool but the stage is too small. And I kinda feel sad to look at a hip hop pioneer raps in small pubs looking for food.

  • If you think Kurtis Blow looks bad, you outta see the physical condition that James J.T. Taylor, formerly of Kool and The Gang, is in. He's a real tubby guy now. Sounds the same, no look the same.
