  • Storm Warning would have been impressive on film. Imagine the R-101's final descent during a North Sea gale.

  • ok, heres what went wrong with tv movie of doctor who my most favorite show on tv, first off the story was off kilter it should have began with the doctor on his home planet so american audiences who are not familiar with doctor who could understand who and what he is secondly they should have shown earth being invaded by the daleks that master storyline was too complex for the american viewing audience and thirdly it should have been showed on the sci fi and not the FOX network.

  • @doctorw2

You seem to think Americans are ignorant people who can not pick up on a plot line or use a nice little thing called "The Internet" to watch decent sci fi.

  • @OliveTheBreloom correct!

  • @doctorw2

    I resent that statement.

  • @OliveTheBreloom im sorry to had said that but, i speak the truth, when star trek first aired in the united states back in the 60s with the pilot episode the cage the critics and network executives pulled it becuase they said it was too intellectual for viewers LOL! i watched that episode and a five year old child could understand that story it was so straight foward. there have been numerous other shows that your tv executives pulled becuase they thought the american audience was stupid.

  • @doctorw2

Although I would pick Doctor Who over Star Trek in an instant, didn't the original producers of Doctor Who avoid giving The Doctor too much of a backround because they thought it would be "too complicated" for the audience to understand? It was the time period, Sci-Fi was still youngish, somewhat different culture.

I agree that some TV here in the states....leaves something to be desired intelectually… but hey- that is what the internet is for. Watching British TV.

  • @DoctorWhoCenter2010. Not to be pedantic, but James Cameron is Canadian, not American.

To be honest, the TV film wasn't that bad, but it was to "american". Paul McGann was a good choice for the Doctor, the TARDIS set was amazing, the story could have been stronger. Doctor Who is a very British creation, it can't be tampered with, it's part of British culture.

  • @scruffyhightops I totally agree with your assessment of the TV movie. I'm American, but I also understand the basic concepts of the show - time traveller, regeneration, and Daleks. Mind you - I know more than that as a fan, but a common American knows those. However - all of them were added along with things such as 13 lives and all. In short, we were forcefed the history - as the Daleks really didn't need to be there. It's a shame too because McGann did very well in this.

  • In my opinion i`m glad that they did`nt do a series the americans would have ruined it. However i did enjoy the movie and I would like to have seen more of Paul Mcgann and the gothic designed tardis.

  • @CYBERDOODY I completely agree. An American made Doctor Who would've lost all the magic of the original series. But the TARDIS interior was indeed a fantastic design.

  • Shut it! I'm american and I know the movie wasn't that good. But I'm sure you could find a good enough writer for example. I mean. We got Star Trek, James Cameron who wrote Avatar. And many others. They just chose the wrong writer.

  • @DoctorWhoCenter2010 Fair enough.

  • To be honest, It wasn't that bad, you'd have thought the Who fans had been nicer to it after being desprate for New Doctor Who for 7 years

  • Excellent.

  • Very good. Could you do a 2nd one with the David Arnold version of the theme? I like that one a lot

  • Cool

  • what program did you use for this??

  • i like it

  • cool! what is the font you used in the titles?

  • post antigua

  • thanks :)
