  • still missing some cliping points

  • some comments here are just completely wrong. First of all. The AE85 and AE86 Are CHASSIS Code dependeing on the model. Its not the year they produced it.

  • R.I.P. i will always miss this guy awesome driver

  • i think it doesnt really matter what year is it made because the term ae85 or ae86 is the chassis type??

  • for God's sake tis iz a 1987 Hachiroku, can tell from the rear lamps

  • i think its the ae86

  • i think this is early ueo or hibino i cant remember

  • これ86みたい

  • haha nips shout at everything na chi haaaaaa protect my balls

  • qoq...he does quite impressive inertia drifts and feint drifts

  • AE85 =] at least someone admits that.

86 has a black painting on the side of the car

85 is all white on the side middle part

  • i wonder how much money he spends on new clutches every month

  • if he is sponsored the sponsership will take care of it, they will pay for anything he brakes

  • @Frillar im sure they got real tough clutches to take the abuse. remember this is a toyota. tires is the only thing u need to replace after each race.

  • i feel sorry for the clutch LOL

  • yea must need to replace it often lol. is it just me or does it seem like hes riding the clutch cus his foot doesnt come off much when he releases it

  • cuz thats the drifting technique for that car

  • i guess but its kinda bad cus a new clutch aint cheap

  • why is it that when japanese people get exited they talk like they are having sex.

    :30 :45

  • Its just like when you listen to Mexican commenting on Soccer.. They sound like they are having the biggest orgasm when 1 of the teams score.

  • its hallarious i know what u mean.

  • sick pedal work, crazy.

  • AE85 wif a cabrurator engine . TOHC 12v . tis Ae85 change wat engine ?

  • what the hell is TOHC?? u mean DOHC?? double over head cam??not twin over head cam...and the AE85 came with the 3AU engine and its also not DOHC...its a SOHC

  • The spoiler on the hatch is a factory spoiler, whoever said otherwise is retarded. Whoever said a good drift car is based on cut springs and a welded diff.....is retarded as well. Read a book, have a coke and a smile and stfu.

  • Civics are still lame and will always be lame and will always wish they were a Corolla instead. 240's are nice but a dime a dozen now.

  • 90% of these comments fail hard. Get facts people, Initial D is not a credible resource....it's a cartoon show. It's an AE85 body with a 4AGE engine swap....mystery solved.

  • yea watsup with the ae85 its ae86...

  • different model dude get facts

  • you can hear him say AE hachi roku (86)

  • ae86's will always own civics :)

  • @dekiiiiiii word..

  • Only way u can drift a fwd is to put shovels on the back wheels

  • gotta learn how to use the handbreak properly to peferct fwd drift

  • its fucking RWD.

  • weeww...what a rims!... what kind rims is that..?

  • they are SSR MK2 on the front , couldnt really see the rears.

they only look so good because they are wide with negative offset.

  • thnx for da vid

now i noe how to drift

  • lol idiots no ae86 or ae85 was fwd.. the difference was no lsd and a single cam carbed engine in the 85.. the comments on this page reek of failure

  • Only person on this page who knows what they're talking about is you.

  • wow what a master

  • i admit civics are good but they cant even touch the ae86.

  • civic's cant drift. but your right they cant touch a ae86. why does everyone in america have a honda?

  • cheap 5 speed people think they can feel fast in. i got a 240 sx and i walk all over the honda bitches.

  • atleast you have something worth driving

  • hondas are 5 speed too apart from the S2000

  • @initialdfcfd word..

  • @uglysnotnosepunk Im a Honda fan, but I'd take an AE86 over any Civic any day...

They are almost a classic car in a sense.

  • @dirtbikemike69 why do u like hondas? They are quick because they are light then the start falling flat on their face around 85 mph. then its just a bunch of noise. I know its not true for all civics but It is pointless to put thousands into a FWD economy car that isnt gonna do anything but break. Plus wheres the fun in driving FWD. Cant do shittys, drift, squirell down the road. nothing. U guys got 2nd gear burnouts with ur ebrake applied. haha

  • @mkIIIsupras Your ignorant and retarded. I won't even bother to school you.

  • @dirtbikemike69 thats because u cant school me. There is not one honda that i would buy to build up. u guys think vtec is the best thing since sliced bread, when really hondas needed it to maintain midrange torque and help fuel economy. Ive seen one civic that made me smile in my life. It was far from a honda too. Had a dart block and goodies supporting his 700hp. guess what it lost to trans am with half the power by a lot. The guy sold it a week later knowing civics are shit for racing

  • @mkIIIsupras Don't forget the torque-steering issues.

  • @uglysnotnosepunk i wanna see that mate really..

  • @uglysnotnosepunk i wanna see a civic drived this way and well talk later...

  • @uglysnotnosepunk i wanna see a civic that could do this....

  • @uglysnotnosepunk swap a 4age 20v or any 6 that toyota has ! then say buy buy civics

  • It`s definitely a AE85 with Susp upgrade and probably engine swap. Look at the rear spoiler, no jap 86 came with black-plastic-bolt-on spoiler like that, and even if it was taken off, it would not have the normal chassis incorporated spoiler, and if we did say it was an ae86, it would be a FWD 86 in the states, and since we already know that that car there is no FWD, this must therefore be a japanese RWD-type AE85 with the abovely suggested mods.

  • Corrections:

1: It would be a FWD 86 from the states.

2: Since we already know that the car in this vid is no FWD.

    sry :P

  • wif no AE86 is fucking FF or what u fucking Americans call FWD...its a fucking FR

  • Anyone who knows anything about drifting kinda knows all the that...

The basics to any drift car:

    -chop springs

    -welded slip

-slick tyres (if you cant initiate well)

  • no shit we dont need u to tell us that we already know that the AE85 and the AE86 is a FR car not a FF

  • remember this is japan not america?

An AE85 is a 1983-1987 toyota automobile that was either a Trueno or a Levin depending on panels. It featured a 3au engine (1.5l) and a more basic suspension set up than the standard AE86. They shared the same chassis and it was easy to swap over a 4age from an AE86 to an AE85 so many AE85s around the world have been converted and upgraded as they are cheaper to buy than AE86s.

    Explained enough?

  • @eddy1612 In America, we have the DX model, SR5 model, and GTS model. The DX comes with a 3au, I think, and is a AE85. It also has rear drum brakes. The SR5 has the 4AC engine, and is a AE86 with rear drums. The GTS has four wheel discs as well as the 4-AGE engine.

  • @eddy1612 like you said the settings were totaly different. an ae85 has a get around type sports car with a low tourqe transmisson. with softer setting with supension and of course the SOHC engine. while the eight-six had a harder supension setting with a rally training gear box (better tourqe/accelleration), but the chassis was different. the 86 was slightly smaller, by 6mm (width) so more narrow and the roof was 10mm shorter. with of corse the DOCH engine. learn somthing more today?

  • Wow.

  • ALL US chassised models a re AE86(84-87).. some 84 smaller engined 4 cyls are AE85 ONLY.. the larger 4 cyl in 1984 was AE86. In Japan, some Apex GTs had the AE87 + AE88 designations, depending on what continental market... At least know what you are talking about(some commenters on this thread) before arguing and seeming uneducated. All are usually classed under the AE86 moniker.. LMAO :P

  • For the dumbass. AE86 is the chassis model from 85-87 US all the chassis models were AE86. Regardless of hatch or coupe. I Currently have a 1985 coupe "Kouki" or early model. and if you want to count age in Japanese then Hachi-Go 85 would be the year it was produced-NOT THE MODEL!!!

  • A 1985 coupe is a Zenki model by the way.

  • how is this an AE85???? lol

  • pause at 0:25

  • I think theres no way thats a AE85. First of all, they never mention AE Hachi-Go (85) in the video and there is a chance they typo'd that text at 0:25.

And listen to that car, theres no way thats an 85.

  • Yea,everybody knows these are a AE86.

  • It might be an AE85 with a 4AGE swap, because the difference between AE86 and AE85 is its engine and some cosmetic appereance are different.

  • @hojoojoh cuz it was manufactured in 1985 thus making it and ae85. look at the tailights, they difff from 86

  • @hippofries They had an AE86 in '85 as well. The AE85 refers to the chassis code, not model year. The tail lights are different depending on if its a kouki model or zenki model.

  • this is hachi-go (85)

  • wow
