I can see the male bias here in these list of videos. I searched for documentaries on womens' rights but I can only see these links to a man named Muhammad Yunus. The Islamic male bias against women seems quite obvious here.
Who decided to given him a Nobel Peace Award by the way? There is a category of economists for Nobel Prize. And why wasn't Prof. Abed, the founder of BRAC, chosen before him?
This video doesn't really explain his financial philosophy clearly. I have heard from people here that he lent money but extracted twice or thrice that amount later on. Why did this man get into trouble with his much advertised Grameen Phone venture as well?
His memoir "Banker to the Poor" is an inspiring book! Turning great ideas into actions to help other is his asset. I respect him for the good intentions and the sincere wiliness to find solution for poverty.
All of this attack is very typical (sadly) for any person who is intent on doing good and particularly helping the very poor. And of course, all of those eminent people who have honored this man for his work are completely misled somehow. Try applying the energy you expend on tearing down those like Muhammad Yunus to doing a little bit of good yourself and while you are at it, please direct me to your curriculum vitae which no doubt rivals that of your target for criticism
what a psychopath? He cant support any of his claims, but he wants us to prove that some good men are honest just because his rotten instinct tells him they are dishonest. BTW, how worthy are you for Mr.Yunus and his supporters to prove themselves to you? Lastly we are happy that you are not on our side. Lol, you are not evil, but the dumbest idiot in the world. Numbers, idiot!! Give me atleast some numbers to disprove your claims. Did you ever learn maths?
I am gonna drop it at that. You are working to prove what you have aleady decided to be true. Just because grameen's mobile services are costly doesn't mean Mr.Yunus has committed a forgery. And yeah, i know i am wasting my time since truth does not permeate the dumb minds. Adios
Come on fellas..Why is it difficult for men to believe that complete honesty, integrity and benevolence are still relevant in today's world? Its sad we idolise good men long after they die nad don't appreciate the work of living gandhis and buddhas,
I am happy that we agree on one issue -that polemics never do good. So in order to arrive at the truth I would request you to provide hard facts about his estimated wealth and the amount of shares he holds etc... I would say a salary of up to 500k-1mn$ a year is well within limits (even engineers earn more in california)and he deserves it. So dont say he owns two cars and two houses and stuff like that. I can understand and argue only when i know that you are not pulling facts from your arse.
You talk about facts but you provide none. And please stop arguing with the pre-conceived notion that money is evil. Money earned without oppressing and swindling people and communities is well deserved. I am sure even if he is rich, its vindicated.
You must be the dumbest person in the whole world. He is neither rich nor does he own Grameen bank or any of it's social ventures. The people own it and the goal of grameen phone is to provide the cheapest connectivity possible to all Bangladeshis. So when some 2 billion people in the world are without food and when nearly 90% are below poverty line, do something about it or please shut the f**k up and stop criticizing.
You think the nobel commitee, the US president, the UN council, the indian and russian governments and numerous philantropists appreciate him for no reason?
Micro financing creates a situation in which almost anyone can have a huge impact on the world. A woman given a small loan will do something like organize her village to build a well where the social fabric of her community is strengthened, where a huge,multi-million dollar project to build a dam will destroy the social fabric of the society it was intended to help.
You don't get it: Micro financing creates a situation in which almost anyone can have a huge impact on the world with basically no risk. This isn't hand-outs that belittle people. A woman given a small loan will do something like organize her village to build a well where the social fabric of her community is strengthened, where a huge,multi-million dollar project to build a dam will destroy the social fabric of the society it was intended to help.
Dr. Yunus, Whether one is a bangladeshi or not, doesnt matter. You have made , humanity proud. Proud of what they engendered from within themselves. Its a pity, these a** holes din give the economic prize to you.
You are an amazing man. What a realization of spirituality & providing abundance for those who truly want & only need a helping hand to help themselves. Thank you for your great work. S, Kimberley Graham/Red Alert Corps
Where there is a will, there is a way. Partnership based and interest-free mechanisms are needed to help the poor in order to improve their livelihoods. It would be wonderful if poverty alleviation policies were adopted on a mass scale by governments to widen its benefits rather than leaving it to individuals only..

I'm a teacher, I'd love to show this video to my pupils (14 years old).
Is there a version in French (spoken or subtitled)?
Otherwise, can anyone advise how I can add subtitles?
(I've found a few interviews of Mr Yunus in French, but this one is animated, easy to understand - ideal for my pupils!)

The stereotype in people's minds that poor=untrustworthy automatically is quite shocking. Is it the same in other countries?
Great video, great work. Money used with virtue for the people.
