The only difference is avril looks prettier, nicer to her fans, more punk rock personality, writes better simple but realistic songs, play more instruments like both electirc and acoustic guitar, bass piano and drums, sings better, less autotuned, not conforming to what is a popular music today. And Avril definitely sold out. Avril's new music is way poppier than she was on the first album. Lights acts nerdy, come'on cartoons and comics? That's being herself, unlike with Avril.
