  • My friend went to hospital this Halloween dressed in a full David Bowie costume. Like, Ziggy Stardust head to toe, painted face and everything. He lay on the street and was sick in a gutter for a while before his trip in the ambulance. Unsurprisingly he doesn't drink anymore

  • nice eyes

  • That nurse... I dont really like her

  • just the fact that you dressed up as freaking zelda fitzgerald make you NOT that person!

  • Got drunk at my friends and i-

    -Starting dancing by myself

    -Touch my friends gf ass

-Pissed in the sink when my friends mom was watching

    -Was pokeing a fat girl

-Pissed outside beside the window and everyone seen my dick

-Kept asking a girl to meet me

-Got kicked out of the house

Now thats a bad night :'(.....

  • OMG- I worry about my daughters and drinking all the time. Cool story.

  • And this is still funny.

  • i never want to comment on this because it makes it seem like i'm more interested in your physical appearance than your personality but YOU HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL EYES <333

  • That literally just sounds like a typical Friday night for most people (myslef included) that I know. Yeah we are also the kind of people that discuss literature and stuff but that doesn't mean you can't also be the type of person who drinks and parties as well.

  • Waaatttttt ur 21 omfg i thought u were 16 u are fucking 21

  • You feel good after two drinks? What kind of drinks are they? lol

  • I BEAT YOU @haleyghoover !!! 11 STITCHES DRESSED LIKE MADDONA!!

  • I wouldn't be ashamed Hayley, everyone needs a university/college story to tell.

  • Were the turtles okay?!

  • hhahahaha that storys awesome!! thats why i never drink too much whenever i go to a party

  • As someone from the UK, where the legal drinking age is 18 and the normal age to start drinking at parties is about 15-16 (or younger than that if you live in a big city), this seems like a pretty standard night. Something will probably go wrong, although not always to the point that someone is bleeding. Although my friend did go to visit someone and ripped open their finger...

  • "Stille waters hebben diepe gronden." (set google translate to from Dutch to English if you want to use google translate on that)

  • The best is when unbeknownst you start pointing your bloody hand at people saying: "Who's bleeding?" Flinging your blood all around the room......good times.

  • My favourite one was Zelda - ocarina of time. Getting drunk sounds great im going to seal loads of alcohol tonight.

  • My dream is to now be Zelda Fitzgerald.

  • "I'm not this kind of person!" "Yeah...yeah you are." hahaha wow awesome nurse.

  • Hayley G. Hoover. The G stands for guzzler. Heh, cheap Sanford reference.

  • hahaha You're awesome. I'm afraid that will be me one day. I am known for doing stupid things *sober*. Thankfully I haven't drunk-hurt myself. Yet. Except walking into a tree. I'll just steer clear of glass.

  • is there anything more forever alone than an inside joke with yourself?

  • lol! i think i love your drunken stories just as much as i love F. Scott Fitzgerald.

  • Why do I feel like this is going to be me in a few years? Literature nerds gone wild.

  • "Under agers"

  • And this is why I don't drink. Not because I'm scared to, just because I don't want to. Until I turn 21 next year and order some fruity drink and get carded with weird expressions because I look like I'm 16.

Thank you, Hayley, for warning all the other underagers, and I'm glad you're okay =P

  • And I'm laughing, too! :D

  • I'm just saying, Haleyghoover is sooo beautiful. It is slightly ridiculous. And as far as i can tell from the interwebs she is awesome as well.

  • It's so odd to think I've been legally able to drink for over a year here in the UK, and I'm nineteen. I'll never truly understand the US drinking laws.

  • "I wasn't hurt at all" ...except for the 6 stitches.

  • Does Charlie still like you? :) ur real cute btw! :)

  • Sorry to hear about your accident! Good message here; I have some friends who need to see it, thanks!

  • I had to watch the video again because I couldn't get over the fact that you have an inside joke with yourself about Zelda Fitzgerald. Now, I would never be so forward as to ask you to marry me just like that, and, no, I didn't just delete a beautifully written marriage proposal because it sounded too creepy, but I think we should get together and get to know each other better. For the sake of our future children.

  • i was recently at a party where i had a great time telling everyone the story of my friend being in A&E on halloween .... ive only just now realised that i heard the story from you and it wasnt my friend .... whoops!

  • I have watched this video at leats a dozen times now...every time I laugh out loud!

"I'm not this type of person!!"...we've all said that at one time or another along the way! Welcome to the club <3 x

  • hey r u dating charlieissocoollike???

  • woooooo to being 21 lol

  • I just don't like to drink, like at all :)

  • Daisy Buchanan is described by Fitzgerald as the "girl whose disembodied face floated along the dark cornices and blinding signs". Seems your inebriated head floated into a fish tank.

  • So wait. You head butted an aquarium?

  • I seriously cannot stop laughing at this video. The story and how you tell it is just so perfect xD

  • Oh come on, this is something that could have just as easily happened in a state of sobriety. You didn't even vomit on anything.

  • You are great!

Been a subscriber for years and

have been waiting for haleyghoover college stories! :)

    Glad you were ok!

  • I love you.

  • I happen to have just taken a break from reading Gatsby to watch this...I find that highly Ironic. Like the book is siting less than a foot away from me.

  • lol

  • all my role models are failing me now.

  • Oh my god. I read the description before I saw the video and I'm not gonna lie, thought you killed a turtle :/

  • Isn't it weird how you can be proud of an embarrassing story?

  • wait... really?

  • LOL aww! its okay everyone has those stories :)

  • "Well it was just ghaaastly!" If you've ever seen Auntie Mame you'll appreciate that quote.

  • My lesson is learned lol. I'm heading to college next year, so thanks for the warning

  • Welcome to adulthood

  • I think you should be proud. You probably had the most authentic costume of the night.

  • Imma just call you Avril Lavigne.

  • Zelda Fitzgerald reincarnation? I LOVE YOU!

  • Your gorgeous

  • Probably the only person in the world having Zelda Fitzgerald fantacy's

  • BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ACTUALLY TOO FUNNY.

In Canada, our legal drinking ages span from 18-19. So you can imagine the drunk stories we gather.

  • This is something to tell your grandkids.

  • .....And marijuana is illegal.

  • But...what about the turtles???

  • hahaha. drunk college stories are the best stories. good on ya

  • SHE SAID THE TURTLES WERE OK. CALM YOURSELVES.

  • You guys, I'm sure the turtles were fine. cool your jets :P

  • hahahaha

  • Were the turtles okay?

  • I love you Hailey XD I would love to see your Zelda Fitzgerald impression

  • YOU'RE SUCH A WINNER FOR DRESSING UP AS ZELDA FITZGERALD.

  • Drinking is a national thing. I'm French, I tasted alcohol for the first time at three months old. You know the champagne baptism or whatever. But maybe it's because once you've seen your best friend and your cousin vomit their life on your bed, that you just can't abuse alcohol. Ever.

  • not impressed

  • I remember my first beer.

  • This video was AMAHZING!

  • Turtle-rape? THIIIIIIIIINK ABOOOOOOOOOOOOOUT IT...

  • On Halloweekend I went to a party an hour away from home with a guy friend of mine who drove. I had a little too much to drink, he was completely sober and drove me home and on the ride home kept talking about how I thought he had a cute butt and wanted to kiss him. And then the next day, I found out he has a girlfriend. Woops.

  • In Holland you're allowed to drink from age 16 lol

  • Shoulda been Blanch Dubois.

  • I've only ever had one sip of alcohol in my life, and that was because once at church they forgot to tell us it was the rare occasion they decided communion would be alcoholic...I nearly threw up :/

I personally have no interest in it. It stinks (and I now know it also tastes vile), it's ridiculously expensive and I've seen it do terrible things to people. Count me out, I'm perfectly happy with a soft drink.

  • This past weekend my friends and I had a celebration for my 21st birthday and though there were no injuries, I will forever have the image of my best friend rolling around on a bed laughing and repeatedly saying "This is so much fun!"

  • @hayleyghoover You should come hang out here in the Netherlands!! I will show you 'responsible' fun xD

  • You have an inside joke with yourself? You need to go out more...

  • '...and that's how I got six stitches in my head while dressed like Zelda Fitzgerald.'

Probably not one of the most common phrases in the English language...

  • Hayley, I am laughing so hard, oh my god. XD I do hope the turtles were alright!

  • Aw, Hayley is so cute. When she started talking about how people were either not attracted to her gender or in a committed relationship, I expected something WAY worse than what actually happened.

  • Gahh, you're so pretty.

"and quote Daisy Buchanan..." and so awesome.

  • @bunnies2000 Aw. Thank you!

  • inside joke within myself? cool, cool.

  • hahaha i don't think i should ever drink- i'm already a huge klutz sober...

  • This is the best drunk story I've ever heard.

  • why do people drink? sounds horrible, someone please answer.

  • LOLLL damnnn hayleyy! Thanks for sharing this XD XD

  • I always forget how awesome and funny you are, and then you make another video and I remember all over again. Also, I will definitely learn from your mistakes.

  • The last time I got drunk I gave a hand job to a guy I didn't know the last name of.

    I'm a lesbian.

  • @SincerelyImpossible Haha wow that sucks but that is funny.

  • @swiimgfreek The real kicker is that my best friend is dating him now.

  • Oh god that sounds painful. O_O At least the booze numbed the pain.

  • Were the turtles okay?

  • @DobbyIsFreeeee LOOL I JUST SPAT MY WATER

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a rough Halloween. I went to a party with my boyfriend of 6 years. Well I was dressed as GI Jane...Got so drunk (I never drink), I blacked out...called other girls sluts and said I looked better than them without being in sexy outfits...gave some random guy a lap dance, and kept insisting to my boyfriend that I had a connection with this other guy.... it wasn't my finest moments, and why I will never drink like that again...*sigh*

  • Hiiiilarious

  • I've only had ONE night like this when I was an exchange student in Denmark. I think it was a good experience because I definitely learned my lesson. I remember breaking a lamp in the bathroom and sitting against the door contemplating what to do until my friend forced her way in and I said "it wasn't me it wasn't me it wasn't me x2937"

  • lol, drinking is legal in the netherlands when you're sixteen :P

  • I haven't heard a funnier drinking story since my friend walked into her house with a penis drawn on her face and her mom didn't tell her about it for four hours.

  • I can't help but laugh! I have quite a few funny drinking related stories, all from uni. Now I've left, I don't really drink that much any more. I think everyone needs to go through that crazy drinking stage so you know what your limits are.

  • ... Were the turtles okay?

  • @sexybeefstick I am wondering the same o.o

  • HAHAHAH I am so glad to hear this story. I really really enjoy when you youtubers are straight with your viewers. Don't hold back. It makes you so much more relatable! No one is perfect...

  • When I was 8 I ran into a wall on Halloween night and had to go to the hospital and get stitches. There was a girl there who was drunk and dressed like supergirl. I can't remember if she was hurt but yeah, it was extremely awesome. Too bad Zelda Fitzgerald isn't exactly accessible for young kids or you could have totally made someone's night.

  • I love you. So much.

  • Your eyes are just SO GREEN.

  • @bookworm557 My boyfriend of two years once thought they were brown. I'm glad someone has my back in the Team Green department.

  • I couldn't even concentrate on what you were saying, cause oh my god your eyes are amazing.

  • I don't think theres any shame in responsible drinking... even slightly underage (as most of the world isn't underage at 18, 19, 20 like us Americans), so, I don't think talking about drinking is irresponsible or sends the wrong message as long and you simultaneously only promote drinking in a safe environment, which you did. Just... maybe keep the fragile glass aquariums in another room on party nights :P

  • I died. Oh my god, I love you.

  • You have pretty eyes.

  • Didn't know you were a fan of Zelda. Did you see Midnight In Paris?

  • While listening to this there were several things that popped into my head, what does your Alabama accent sound like, are the turtles okay, and your parents seem really awesome.

  • Wait, were the turtles okay?!

  • Sounds like it would be very...interesting...to get drunk with you, haha. Or maybe dangerous is the word I'm looking for?

  • OMFG The day before I saw this video I swear I was thinking "next halloween I should be Zelda Fitzgerald" what? how? *is speechless*

  • You have such pretty green eyes.

  • I can only say one thing: pink clouds.

  • Drinking sounds fun! :D The age is 18 here so yup... Drinking is appropriate in the next two years :) ;)

  • What's been the oldest age of a person who has hit on you on Youtube?

  • I love living in the UK where adults are allowed to drink. Being underage at 20 would really annoy me.

  • Your eyes are soooo pretty!

  • ARE THE TURTLES OKAY?

  • Message received.

  • it's fitting that this video was uploaded at the same time that we're studying alcohol awareness in health ed.

  • :D

I can't stop watching your videos, they get funnier and funnier!

    Just keep being you!

  • Did the turtles survive??

  • you must be fun to drink with.

  • Oh my god hahahahhahahahaahhaa, in all honesty drinking can be good because 1. it's funny at the time, 2. it leads to funny stories and 3. those stories can be good conversation starters/topics.

  • i was at a party last weekend and ended up on the roof...in heels. hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • Just made my day! :D you have the best stories no matter how morally horrible they r

  • "...and Wendy the nurse is laughing at you."

    HA!

  • i am slightly offended by what you said to, presumably, defend your attire on the night in question. dressing a certain way, ESPECIALLY on Halloween, is not an invitation for people to hurt you and dressing sexy shouldn't be shameful or something you have to defend!

this is the kind of slut-shaming stuff we were trying to fight with the Slut Walks... being a certain gender, dressing sexy, or even actually being promiscuous SHOULD NOT make it more likely that you will get hurt!!! (cont. ...)

  • @B1ueCadet3 Furthermore, assuming or admitting that dressing sexy makes it more likely for someone to get hurt is putting some amount of fault or responsibility on the person who gets hurt by sexual assault. This is not good, not true, and not something we should be thinking!

If you want to defend yourself for dressing sexy on Halloween, go for it (although I personally don't think you should have to!), but please don't imply that dressing sexy can lead to "getting hurt".

  • @B1ueCadet3 For example, I usually dress very "conservatively" because I have what is generally considered an "appealing" body shape and I just don't like people staring at me. The ONE TIME I wore a short-ish skirt and heels and a somewhat-tight shirt, a grocery store employee clocked out, got in his car and followed me as I walked home. I have every right to dress that way, and I deserve to not be scared every time I do, but you can't say that it won't make *someone* think you're asking for it.

  • @geegeezlouis86 According to large-scale studies, sexual assault does not occur more often to women who are dressed in a revealing way. I'm not talking about anecdotal experiences, I'm talking about statistics.

That's not to say that dressing in a sexy way wont get you unwanted attention---I fully understand that, and like you, have gotten unwanted attention because of my clothes and body before. But there is a HUGE distinction between unwanted attention by assholes and sexual assault.

  • @B1ueCadet3 To reiterate, I completely understand and for the most part agree with what you're saying, but I don't think that Hayley was touching on that at all, and again I resent that you think that dressing provocatively will never put you in harm's way. It absolutely shouldn't be that way, and anyone who thinks that girls really are "asking for it" are twisted, but it happens more often than you seem to think it does, sadly. :(

  • @geegeezlouis86 Dressing provocatively WILL NOT put you in harm's way! Being around people who think it's okay to sexually assault you, however, WILL put you in harm's way.

And as long as people still think a sexy girl is "asking for it" on some level, there will be more people around you who think it's ok to sexually assault a girl because of how she's dressed. Which is the problem.

If our society didn't accept this "she's asking for it" idea, then it wouldn't exist. That's my main point.

  • @B1ueCadet3 But she wasn't defending her attire?

  • @B1ueCadet3 I 100% agree that the slut-shaming is a HUGE problem in this country, but I don't get the feeling that this is what she was talking about. She was just saying that she was comfortable going to that party wearing something that, as far as I've seen, isn't a normal fashion style for her.

However, the facts remain that dressing that way CAN give some whackos the wrong idea.

  • I seriously thought that you murdered the turtles, and that's why you we covered in blood. Dying of laughter. :D

  • americans are such pussies with alcohol

  • @mroom1469 Yeah. It's definitely the country that one resides in that determines the level of pussy a person is. You nailed it. -.-

  • @tinker88bell jeez mate i was just making a generalisation. wasnt even referring to hayley just making a general comment. chill out.

  • Funny, Hayley I would have just also inserted thank God you were not hurt worse. That this can just be an amusing anadote.

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha oh damn, this story made my day

  • "It's fun to be Zelda Fitzgerald for the first two hours. And then you're in the hospital and Wendy the Nurse is laughing." Words to live by. Hahahaha. Thanks, Hayley! If it were me, I probably would have ended up tripping over the broken aquarium and impaling myself--and that's WITHOUT alcohol--if that makes you feel better.

  • Ahahhaa oh Hayley. Best story ever. :D <3

  • .....What happened to the turtles?

  • This? This is why I am never drinking. Ever.

  • @TheGoldenTV Agreed!

  • Hahaha :D At least you have a story to tell your children some day!

Nice to see your face again... Hope you're doing good!

  • "inside joke with myself"... That's brilliant ^_^

  • It happens.

  • oh my god. i have so many of these stories. there should be an entire youtube channel devoted to "this are the shenanigans you get into while intoxicated".

  • Spoiler alert: Hayley already said the turtles were okay.

  • What about the outro?

  • lol

  • what about the turtles? dont you care about animals at all? at least the hoast must be sad about his "pets" beeing dead because at a party some drunken idi** did crash his aquarium.

  • "And that's how I got six stitches in my head... I wasn't hurt at all!" :P
