My friend went to hospital this Halloween dressed in a full David Bowie costume. Like, Ziggy Stardust head to toe, painted face and everything. He lay on the street and was sick in a gutter for a while before his trip in the ambulance. Unsurprisingly he doesn't drink anymore

As someone from the UK, where the legal drinking age is 18 and the normal age to start drinking at parties is about 15-16 (or younger than that if you live in a big city), this seems like a pretty standard night. Something will probably go wrong, although not always to the point that someone is bleeding. Although my friend did go to visit someone and ripped open their finger...

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had a rough Halloween. I went to a party with my boyfriend of 6 years. Well I was dressed as GI Jane...Got so drunk (I never drink), I blacked out...called other girls sluts and said I looked better than them without being in sexy outfits...gave some random guy a lap dance, and kept insisting to my boyfriend that I had a connection with this other guy.... it wasn't my finest moments, and why I will never drink like that again...*sigh*

When I was 8 I ran into a wall on Halloween night and had to go to the hospital and get stitches. There was a girl there who was drunk and dressed like supergirl. I can't remember if she was hurt but yeah, it was extremely awesome. Too bad Zelda Fitzgerald isn't exactly accessible for young kids or you could have totally made someone's night.

I don't think theres any shame in responsible drinking... even slightly underage (as most of the world isn't underage at 18, 19, 20 like us Americans), so, I don't think talking about drinking is irresponsible or sends the wrong message as long and you simultaneously only promote drinking in a safe environment, which you did. i am slightly offended by what you said to, presumably, defend your attire on the night in question. dressing a certain way, ESPECIALLY on Halloween, is not an invitation for people to hurt you and dressing sexy shouldn't be shameful or something you have to defend!

The ONE TIME I wore a short-ish skirt and heels and a somewhat-tight shirt, a grocery store employee clocked out, got in his car and followed me as I walked home. I have every right to dress that way, and I deserve to not be scared every time I do, but you can't say that it won't make *someone* think you're asking for it.
