  • Lol I been living in Pittsburgh for 2 years and never went to the damn zoo!

  • I've been to the Toronto Zoo like 24 times.

  • Animals in captivity for the pleasure of animals....you can hear the sickly ramble in the background whilst these animals pace - let them free you sick mtfs.

  • Elephants don't wash their socks...filthy things. >:-(

  • I like! : )

  • Hooray for Pittsburgh!! Represent! Our polar bears rock. =)

  • It's official, whoever fails to see something distinctly human in the behaviour of all higher primates can't but be a bit of a dimwit.

  • Is it just the video, or was the mandrill at 2:40 missing his upper canines?

  • I wish i knew u guys would be there... I would have come... I could be there in a little better than an hour

  • 7:33 is worth the wait. ;)

  • the close-up on the elephant's thick and coarse skin is sure gonna make those politicians out there feel very jealous.

  • That was one huge Silverback there ....

    Absolutely stole the show ....

  • The zoo made me very sad. Animals should be seen in their natural habitat. Great work capturing the bathing nymph in the wild on camera. That made my day;)

  • Please post more videos of you in a swimsuit.

  • @Magic187u "I want to try fight that silver back"

    -

I want to sit down with him, have a cup of tea, eat cucumber sandwiches and discus current affairs.

  • i want to try fight that silver back.

  • that gorrila did not look happy.. i think monkeys are a little to smart to keep in capt.. hes probably thinking of his future and where he went wrong in life.. lol

  • Did you see that evil Girraffe? He's going to eat all those leaves so none of the other animals will get some. Better drown him.

  • That was the lamest pickup line ever...

    "Elephants are superstitious"

  • @AvatarOfAvatar exactly! I thought I was the only one who noticed that he was trying to "talk" with her! Lame pickup line indeed! XD

  • Looks like a Great Day at the zoo! Seems like all the animals were out-n-about! 2 thumbsup!

  • Wow eating up 2000 miles in two weeks?

  • Hope you enjoyed our zoo & our city.

  • Welcome back to your main channel, Laura!

  • What happened to you? you would make a better travel blogger than spokesperson for atheism.

  • @ogodsell You obviously didn't here him talking about socks to that rather redneckish sounding woman.

  • @FlyingSpahghettiMan Doh my bad its that chick. xD

  • @FlyingSpahghettiMan was it more or less important than the banal drivel about superstitious elephants and racing giraffes?

  • I've never really understood zoo's. We trap these animals to live in tiny areas for the rest of their lives, for what? To educate people on them? Wouldn't videos, demonstrations, talks be almost effective without ruining so many animal's lives. (how many zoos in the world?) Or is it truly just for entertainment?

Only SD Zoo did I not feel too depressed for the animals.

  • @BlueHen123 Very simple. It is because we are, by nature, selfish. It is how we survive, feed our own over others and conserve nature. We do it because we love it. We love it soo much we need it for ourselves. And in the case of these animals, we want to be soo safely close to them at our disposal that we justify taking one or two out of the group. It is beautiful, and sad. Much like life.

  • It's been too long since you posted a vid.

  • I admire you for your intelligence, adventurous nature, and devastating good looks. I'd love to meet you some day for tea & frolicking.

Let me know when you might be in the Malibu, Cal area :)

  • Looks like you're having a wonderful time. The zoo looks excellent.

That lake looks absolutely gorgeous, and you're right, it looks like a perfect day. :)

  • My favourite animal was at the end,

    Swimming in her natural habitat.

    The lesserdressed atheist.

Although not as rare as it once was their numbers are increasing.

  • Dear god just listening to all those people makes me almost have a panic attack... I wish I had a nice zoo like that in my area... even though I can't go to such public places.. T_T I miss being normal. Lovely video regardless.

  • Laura,

Yours is a very fine travelogue. I'm enjoying it.

If you get to LA, get in touch.

  • WTF? You go to Pittsburgh, but you don't say hi? >_<

  • Elephants have funeral rituals, graveyards, etc. Which is generally regarded as the beginning of civilisations in humans in the archaeological record haha.

  • Good to have you back! And thank you, thank you, thank you for this fantastic video. I just might make a trip to the biggest zoo in my country this summer because of this!

  • Both of you come to Belfast, Ireland. It'll be fuckin' great craic.

  • Those Lions! <3

  • Thumbs up for the orangutan and gorilla. That silverback is fuckin' magnificent!

  • Those Leafy Seadragons looked more like Weedy Seadragons (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus)

  • @yugyfoog yeah, are leafy seadragons i don't know more leafy and bigger.

  • @agnilaDkraM Not so much bigger, but a lot leafier.

  • Lookit all the adorable products of Creation! :D

  • I'm sorry. I do not like zoo's. One may say that several species are still alive thanks to them. But I think that an animal reserve would be much better (what I mean is a safe place where endangered species can live that are much more spacious than a zoo).

  • I'm very conflicted about zzo's, but this video didn't give me a bad time.

  • No way, you guys should've told me/us! I live in Pittsburgh and I totally could've gone the 27th. =.= Would've been cool to meet up.

  • they arent superstious thay ere pissed off elephants, would you blame them.

  • man im sorry but this stuff makes me sad, i think those animals look sad and bored, id rather see stuffed animals in a museum, as they cant feel, not so much the fish and shit but the mammals, i just dont feel right about it.

  • @tersse Better than being in the wild and looking paranoid over a Lion attack...

  • @tersse Unfortunately some of those species don't have a safe enough habitat to survive otherwise (unless in an animal park, zoo, or special reserve). And Yes....it is all our faults :/

  • @Yuri92001 There is no such thing as a 'safe' natural habitatat. Nature is brutal, a constant, merciless, and ultimately pointless struggle for food, mates, and dominance. Those zoo animals have it easy compared to the ones in the wild. A constant supply of food, shelter, medical care... things that don't exist in the wild. Also, don't forget that extinction is the default fate for all species. Animals are fucked unless we use our technologies to save them.

  • @Parapon3ra "SAFE" from poachers, hunters, and the destruction of their habitat.

I didn't say the "zoo is evil".

    Chill.

  • @Yuri92001 Just putting things into the proper perspective. Whatever man may have done to animals is nothing compared to what nature routinely does to them. Their lives are short and miserable, and getting shot by a hunter or poacher is usually a lot more humane than the 'natural' alternatives (starvation, being eaten alive, dying slowly of infection etc.)

  • @Parapon3ra I.........really am not really trying to "push" any point about our role in nature or about zoos or anything. But I will say this: Nature doesn't have volition....nature isn't cruel, mean, or unfair NOR humane or inhumane. Nature is just nature.

  • Gorillas looks so thoughtful lul

  • Great video! I am not an animal person, but some of this was very cool.

  • Mandrills are awesome.

  • COME TO D.C. I WANT TO MEET YOU GUYS!

  • Yes, I'd agree with the perfect day.

  • I fed an asian elephant once. I think it was really old. Then it just blew really hard on me it almost pushed me back. (I almost typed "blew me")

  • I hope Jason ain't waiting near that lake.

  • @JohnTraviss

    Cha cha cha cha.

  • You not suspended anymore! Awesome!! :D

  • Big kitties~!

  • TELL DADDY WHAT AN ELEPHANT SAYS, BITCH!

  • The monkeys are always the best thing according to my experience.
