Yes, I suggest you remove McAfee and install either AVAST (see my video on How to Speed Up Your Computer By Removing Viruses") or AntiVir (google it to find it; easy to install). Both are great and have performed better than McAfee in my experience. They are also both free. No need to pay each year.

Uninstall Spyhunter, as it has a rating of 1 out of 5 on downloaddotcom. Then watch the above video (all four parts) and follow what it says. Second, install AVAST (see my video on "How to Speed Up Your Computer By Removing Viruses") or AntiVir (google it), as you need to have an antivirus program installed on your computer at all times. Before you do that, make sure you go into START>CONTROL PANEL>ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS & confirm that u have removed everything that's from Norton or Symantec

It's great that you have both an antivirus program and anti-spyware program on your computer. However, you can only have one antivirus program on your computer at a time. Otherwise they conflict, which will slow your computer down and will make both programs ineffective (which means you won't be protected). So, between AVG and Norton, go with AVG. However, I would suggest Avast over AVG. Avast is also free.

I know Vipre is costly but b4 i had spyware i had norton *which sux balls* and i had a game downloaded *geuss it said OO LETS SCREW PPL* so i got my cpu cleaned and wanted to download the game again... *this is b4 i knew it wanted to screw me...* and after i downloaded it, like 40 TROJAN DOWNLOADER DETECTED WOULD U LIKE TO BLOCK OR ALLOW, of course this is Vipre , which saved my ass, i say get it , i got it for about 15 bucks on ebay, highly suggested!!!

Just watch my video, "How to speed up your computer by removing viruses" to see where to download Avast, how to install it, and how to run it. However, make sure that you uninstall ALL instances of both Norton and AVG FIRST. Go to Start > Control Panel, click add/remove programs, and then remove anything that says Symantec or Norton. Do the same for AVG. Good luck!

Yes, it is. You can only have one antivirus on your computer at a time.  So, you need to choose between Norton and Nod 32 or another anti-virus software. Uninstall both first, and then install the one that you want. Having more than one anti-spyware program is fine.

Which program are you referring to? They are all free. And I think you mean spyware, not viruses. None of these programs remove viruses. I have another video for that.

If you're referring to Ad-aware, when you install it, you have to click on "Use Free" when that window pops up.

Spybot does not even know what a virus is. It's an anti-spyware program, not anti-virus. The latest version was completed and uploaded to downloaddotcom on 7.8.2008. Over 100,000,000 have downloaded it and it still has a rating of 4 out of 5. I use it all the time and have had great success with it. It's your choice whether or not you want to use it.

Sorry to hear you can't find some files on your grandfather's computer. Spybot only deletes spyware, NOT personal files. And it only deletes the spyware it finds if you tell it to.

Beg to differ with you. You might not know any different, as it may have been a while since you had just one anti-virus program on your system, or maybe you never have had just one. Try uninstalling all of them, and then just install Avast (check my other video), and see how your system performs. Also, ask any IT guy if it's OK to have more than one anti-virus program and see what they say. I guarantee, if they know what they are talking about, their answer will be "absolutely not."

Do you have XP or Vista? In XP, go to the START button in the bottom left corner of your screen, then go to Control Panel>Add/Remove programs, and uninstall everything that says Symantec (which is the company that owns Norton) and Norton. There may be a certain order in which you have to uninstall the items. It will tell you when you try to uninstall it if you need to uninstall something else first. Make sure Norton is closed before you do it.

Honestly it doesnt matter if you use explorer or firefox. although firefox has tons more ad-ons which slow down your computer.

Actually, that's not true. The add-ons don't really slow your computer down, and you have to install them manually. Also, the spyware makers that make pop-ups, browser hijackers, etc all target Internet Explorer, as that is the browser that is most widely used. I have yet to see Firefox affected by crazy popups or by browser hijackers. And Firefox supports up to 256-bit encryption which is double that of Internet Explorer (128-bit), which means FF is safer when purchasing.things online.

Are you sure you downloaded the whole file? Try downloading it again. If you still can't install it, then try installing it in Safe Mode. To get into safe mode, restart your computer, and the second your computer starts up again, continually hit your F8 key until you see a black screen with white text with a a list of options. Select "Safe Mode", then select your operating system. A lot of text will scroll across the screen. Then a window will pop up. Hit OK. Install and reboot.
