Greek army invaded only to conquer a land where greeks were a little minority, if greek army would never landed in smyrna there would today live so many greeks in Turkey. My family were Salonican Turks. I've been to Greece 4 times, and seen all parts of the country. Every time I've been to Greece everybody welcomed me, offered me ouzu, we danced ciftetelli, spoke Turkish to me on streets, played turkish music on taverna. I have no bad memory, but when I look at the internet many greeks acts like fascists. what's the problem of you? whatever you do you like turks, you are nationalists only in internet.

what you say is not the "occupation" of the greek lands but the "formation" of the ottoman empire. things were done in that way during those days.but after the formation of the international law in 19th century diplomacy, when you try to get the lands of a legal state it was started to be called as "occupation". so legally and according to the international law what you did those times was an occupation and it was closer to the nazis.

There is no Chameria issue, there never was. Ethnic Albanians living in South Epirus (never more than 10% of the population) during WW2 collaborated first with the Italian Fascists and then with Nazi Germans against the local Greeks, committing despicable attrocities! After the German left the Albanians were afraid of the retaliation of the Greek guerilla fighters and left for Albania... as simple as that!

I do not think that this movie really captures the attrocities. The representation is quite mild. These events cannot be fully captured in a spectacle.

Ive looked everywhere for it in Sydney since I first saw it on a borrowed from a mate's borrowed from a mate's VHS a few years ago, and I simply cant find it. if anyone has the rest of the movie, showing it here would be much appreciated!

Ok, I now uploaded a second clip, but I would recommend people to seek out the film. I believe it's still available to buy, and since it was recently given away as a promotion with a newspaper, I have seen it being sold very cheaply on Ebay.
