  • Thank you for the video. Bravo.

  • how does he keep his body like this even at 50-something years old?

  • @mcy9123 here he would have been 59 or 60 he was born in 1949.

  • @Mafilmfanvids man and he still looks like that? nice

  • @mcy9123 功夫 Kung Fu!!

  • @Mafilmfanvids agree but man i needa learn some hung gar but i think im kinda old for it...i mean 20 yrs old is young but too old to learn hung gar

  • @mcy9123 You're never too old to learn Kung Fu & besides if you want to learn it badly I'm sure you can!

  • @mcy9123 I started learning Hung Gar at 20. You just have to have dedication. I train 6 times a week, practice every day outside of that, and the progress I've made in a few short years may astound you. You just have to work hard, it's never too late.

  • very good

  • Go on Mr Pattern is in the house, Chi Sifu is still an awe inspiring Hung Kuen practitioner, and this is one of the best performances of Fu Hok on the Internet. Nuff Respect to one of my Idols, still looking like he did in Showdown At Cotton Mill

  • @popsjnr Tucked fists were not perfectly flat as they should be face up, double pao is slightly crooked, and he strikes holding too much air which can cause loss of power and stamina. Watch how Lau Kar Leung and Chiu Chi Ling release small fragments of air with specific sounds as they strike. It does make a huge difference, because I too used to hold air to my disadvantage. Hung Kuen is not my specialty, but when I have the chance to post my own I will. Not bad but not perfect.

  • @JookLumFist As a long time (poor) practioner of Hung Kuen (my Si Gung was Chan Hon Chung), over 15 years now, I can say with some knowledge of the subject, this is an excellent display of Fu Hok Seung Ying, yes Lau Kar Leung is another who gives excellent performances (Chiu chi Ling is a disgrace to Hung Kuen and an injoke amongst Hung Kuen stylists-Chi Kuan Chun is a disciple of Chiu Wai-who I have utmost respect for). As for sounds, there are only TWO sounds in Fu Hok, "Wah and Hohk".

  • @popsjnr "Wah Hok" lay gum gong ah!... I idolize Chan Hon Chung for your information and know who the Hung Kuen figures are in the martial community. I was just trying to point out suttle details of positions. Is what I pointed out wrong?? I said it was good but not perfect. Sometimes when we rush through forms with full power you can see the stamina fade and postures change due to breath. Watch the breath work. If he performed it slow, I'm sure it would be perfect, but you watch again.

  • @popsjnr My apologies, when you said wah hok i thought you meant some insulting words. Chiu Wai is excellent. Yet I still wouldn't rip on Chiu Chi Ling. Every Hung stylist adds or changes to the form but knows how it supposed to be. For example, sometimes Lau Ga fai performs fu hok's swimming dragon circling it into a fist then pulls it back, and Lum Chun fai circles and keeps his hand open while sinking (chum). Also Lau Ga Fai opens to sei ping ma on parts where it should be just standing.

  • @JookLumFist I find it strange that youtube is full of people dissing demonstrations, in the old days if you didn't respect a Si Fu's performance you challenged him, Gong Sau/Dook Sau, I don't sit in judgement of someone's form (as I'm Lap Sap myself!!), I may take exception to someone's attitude. As for differences in forms and technique, there's a reason, Lam Sai Wing taught disciples according to personality through the use of Jap Sau, there's more than 1 way of doing a Hung Kuen form

  • @popsjnr I am an advocate for Gong Sau, if fact that is how I've met some of my dearest friends and also how I developed a following. When I was in Tianjin studying Chinese Medicine, my sifu would constantly say to me "Critique is my friend as compliment my enemy." Please take it with a grain of salt. Many times my sifu would have me redo some videos of mine and sometimes the same even outsiders whom I do not even know. With ration, I correct it. Nay giu ji gei "lap sap, " Ngoh dou hai leh...

  • @JookLumFist & @popsjnr: speaking for all the none-experts, this performance is just excellent!!!

  • @Eisenarsch I'm not an expert, but I do know this form. For being born in 1949 it is good. But I was just merely noting the pulse and the small parts where the fist should be turned palm up :03, :20, hips rotated a little more at 1:53, right hand lower at ging lai etc.... just small matters.. Nevertheless it is still good, not "dissing" at all. :)

  • @JookLumFist I can tell that you really love Kung Fu! You have done research on several different styles and understand body mechanics. I deeply admire both your constructive critism and the performance of Mr. Chi Kuan Chun. I wonder if he reads the comments. To this day, I often watch the old SB movies and it is good to see that these famous actors and sifus have aged well. They are truly an inspiration to the martial arts community! 敬礼!

  • He is my idol. I always wanted to learn Hung Kuen because of all his movies. His Sup Ying is the best on that movie "The Boxers Rebellion". May I ask, when did he film this clip? He is still in great shape and still looks so young. Seems like he and Gordon Liu never aged. *salute*

  • Awesome!! Fu hok seung ying kuen.

  • 虎虎生威

  • THIS MAN IS THE REASON I GOT INTO GONG-FU!!!
