  • Nerd

  • @andrew14919 Good, he's smart.

  • Actually there's tons of people thinking that upscaling a video to 1080p makes it real 1080p.

  • @giammyzanna No, it doesn't make it REAL 1080p. REAL 1080p is filmed with a real 1080p-recording camera.

  • @FirefoxFreeze I know.

  • Hey Jon, does your Analytics cover dual monitor displays, or does it just pick which ever screen is the one that has the video in?

  • WTF! The end of this video is not syncronized!!!! The audio and video not match!

From 2:50 to 3:29 !!!!! This needs to be fixed!

  • @JPizzle1122 , just a quick question.

I'm right in the middle between 1080p and 720p, with a 1600x900 resolution.

I allways go ahead and click 1080p, s it worth the effort for me to click 1080p button? Or do I allready somehow max out 720p and is 1080p useless? (Internet can handle both, though I sometimes have to buffer 15 seconds befor being able to watch the video in 1080p)

  • If only Youtube didn't have such shitty compression. The 1080p would look even better.

  • Asian marriage **busizz4me.info**

  • GRR. My computer is fast enough to to watch HD(1080p), but my monitor isn't big enough.

  • @125undertaker521 No, watch glow sticks SD. Not cool. Stick with HD, it's great. They have glow sticks HD.

  • now we can see jon wonderful beard in 1080p!

  • nice delorian

  • I'm not gonna lie, this is a pretty kick-ass song.

  • seconds 2:30 up to 2:35 has a recording error (doubled Audio)

  • i have a question... what is better 1920x1080 or 1920x1200?

  • @AkimboBlitz That depends on whether you are a widescreen fanatic. 1080 is better for widescreen, but 1200 is better quality

  • yaay (: im one of that 5% wooho!

  • John, I've got a question. I've got a computer that can handle 1080p, it's 1920 x 1080, but when I watch videos on youtube in 1080p they always seem to be "laggy."

Now I've got a computer that can handle 1080p, trust me. I just bought it, and I'm playing videos game that support that type of quality! I've also got a video camcorder (that I just bought) that's 1920 x 1080, and it runs nice and smooth on my computer.

But youtube videos never seem to work in 1080p, do you have this problem?

  • @Sparkey1235 - Slow internet?

  • @Sparkey1235 - What do you mean by laggy? Do you mean the video isn't smooth or it takes a while to load?

  • @Sparkey1235 It could be because Flash doesn't use your GPU, and rather your CPU to process the videos, where as video games, and most media players, do use your GPU

  • @Sparkey1235 His name is Jon, not John.

  • @Sparkey1235 Any 1080p videos lag.

  • @lvjfilms With slow Internet*

  • 1280x1024 dang so close, glad my new moniter is comming soon, this one has a dent in it

  • @michaels156 you can play 720p

  • well you can watch it i just wont look any better

  • dude i think ur voice is off-sync

  • Wait, what the fuck, dude? Only 5 percent of your viewers can watch HD but you've went ahead and switched to HD? What's the point of switching to HD if only 5 percent can actually watch it? Should have stuck to 480p, dude!

  • @XionSethShreve - Pay attention.

100% of my audience can watch HD... the 5% was the percentage of my audience than can watch Full 1080p.

  • Thank you for telling me about that I can't watch it in 1080p! I did not know that. Well now I know too watch 720p now

  • KITTY!!!

  • Yay u can Watch HD!

  • is 1280x800 HD?

  • why am i watching thiss... D;

  • Mine is exactly 1080 pixels vertical. Would that be HD?

  • @UuWHITEPANTHERuU if your screen is 1920x1080 or larger, yes, it would be hd.

  • Yeah I really can't watch anything in HD. *loads really slow, don't have the fastest internet connection ever* So if I want to watch something a little clearer I just switch it to 480p... Is that considered HD or just one higher resolution than SD?

  • @ProductionsByEvan 480p is standard def. Anything lower is low def.

  • @XxskatedevilxX Oh okay....

  • i have a kick ass computer hooked up to my tv and i was wondering when you would switch to HD i am glad it looks way better

  • your vid isnt sinc ed

  • Argh, my monitor is only 1280x1024.

  • Jp you're an artist with annotations.

  • My monitor is a 24 inch 1920x1200, so yyyyyyyyyeah

  • what i hate is that i have a bad connection, and any vids available in 720/1080p have the audio unsync at 360p

  • which editing program you use for the video? please reply back.

  • @LMovieProducties - Watch the FAQ video please.

    - Jon

  • no it just go on youtube with a HD logo behind the title of the video

  • my monitor is 1600 x 900 resolution so 1080p isn't good for me. Right? please reply back.

  • @Brutalgaze 900 is less than 1080. So right.

    - Jon

  • @Brutalgaze

those resolution is still below 1080p...and its 720p...because above 1280x720 resolution

  • are you selling our old camera?

  • Hey John, how is the HMC-150 treating you? Does the AVCHD codec give your PC a good work out? I'm shooting my stuff with a Canon HV-40 HDV.

I have settled on my decision between the HMC40 and HMC-150.

I'll be buying the 150 in the fall, and it shall be amazing. Keep making great (HD) videos.

  • This is really great news. I have been using HD for my productions over the last few years. Now I am really excited to be able to watch one of my favorite youtube shows in HD.

I recently brought the new iMac, mainly for university as I have to use both Final Cut and Soundtrack pro for assignments. I am able to claim most of it back on tax, so I am happy with that.

  • Nice camera!

  • My monitor is obviously large enough but the graphics card and ram in my computer is so bad that I can't watch anything above 360p or it will look like a slide show, and 360p for my computer still lags.

  • how do u use google analytics for youtube?

  • how did u earn 4 grand?

  • I felt obliged to buy myself a new monitor after watching this video.

The internet is moving fast and is growing every day.

So thanks Jon for emptying my wallet ;) Just kidding, say hello to my samsung xl 2370 yeah!

  • @JPizzle1122 Jon i'm sorry to hear that you're still too stuck in your ways to try it. Mac's are cheaper than a good PC, you don't have to worry about viruses, so no antivirus software, I could go on ALL day. but alas it is true that there is a serious game deficiency. I'd imagine someone like you to have one of those computers that blow's people's minds when they see it. I'm not looking for a debate with you because i would get mind crushed. Keep up the amazing videos man!!!!

  • @stuie31 - Prepare to be crushed then.

"Sorry to hear you won't try it."

Please don't make shit up. My first computer was a Mac, I used one at my full-time job, 50-hours a week for over a year... I am VERY familiar with Macs, and have made a conscious and financial decision not to purchase them personally. And secondly... "Macs are cheaper" - HAHAHAHahahahah - you're clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Everything Mac is overpriced.

    - Jon

  • @stuie31 SINCE WHEN????? The cheapest mac is $999, and the most expensive pc i've seen was about $800!

  • @FlyYoshi2600 Well, with Apple Student Pricing, the cheapest Mac is actually around $640.

  • @pacguy19 Yeah, true, but still, not everyone is a student...

  • @FlyYoshi2600 Look, my point is that even without Student Pricing, you're still about $300 off.

Actually, on second thought, forget I even said anything.

  • I have a monitor that supports up to 1050, but the video comes out extremely jerky when watching in 1080. I have a Dell XPS M2010 with a 2GHZ dual core, isn't that enough for a HD video?

  • @Deddily - Well, your monitor isn't big enough anyway.

And processor speed is only part of the equation.

    - Jon

  • @JPizzle1122 - Surely a monitor that is 30 pixels short of 1080p should be able to watch full screen losing 15 pixels at top and bottom? Even if the image is shrunk by 30 pixels, would the quality not be better than 720p stretched to full screen?

In any case, I'm blown away by the quality of your new camera, even when watching in low resolution, the change is very noticeable compared with your previous camera.

  • @Deddily - Well yes, but you wouldn't be watching true 1080p content, nor can you say your monitor supports it. I never said watching 1080p content on a 1050 monitor wouldn't look the best.

    - Jon

  • @JPizzle1122 My Monitor is big enough... to bad my computer can't handle 1080p... since it then start lagging like CRAZY like... 3fps... wich i then... rather watch 720p :P wich works with no lag whatsoever

  • I have a monitor that supports up to 1050, but the video comes out extremely jerky when watching in 1080. I have a Dell XPS M2010 with a 2GHZ dual core, isn't that enough for a HD video?

  • Kitty has some freaky eyes...

  • does my monitor do hd? its res. is 1366 by 768

  • @alex8879 - Only 720p, as evident by your vertical pixels, 768.

    - Jon

  • @JPizzle1122 Are you able to make the past videos into 1080p? or.. no?

  • @Darkchao700 - Please pay attention.

    - Jon

  • @Darkchao700 - If you make past videos in HD when they weren't, it upconverts them, making them no better than they were.

  • Love the HMC150, a sexy beast! No more faffing around with tapes eh Jon!.....

  • MrRayD8 - Now I have to fail-around with SD cards!

    - Jon

  • Love the HMC 150 a sexy beast! No more faffing around with tapes eh Jon....

  • Dude even 480p looks perfect.

  • I've been watching the show for a few months and I for one am glad you guys are upgrading to full HD (my monitor supports it, thankfully)! You guys are hilarious and can't wait to see future content! Keep up the awesome work!

On a side note, that ksegura guy is a total douche for no reason.

  • When I watch this in 1080p the video lags because my computers sucks.

  • XD my camera is awsome i can read what a vending machine says from idk how far but im going to guess 110-130 yards

  • I know how to check the resolution on a mac. You go to system prefrences>displays then you check the list and the one that is hilighted is your resolution

  • Hey when's the new microwave season start

  • Anza1027 - Please watch the latest episode.

    - Jon

  • How am i able to check if my monitor is able to support 1080?

  • rothaga2 - Google "Screen resolution", and then check yours.

    - Jon

  • What's funny, is my monitor when I first watched this the other day was only 1680x1050, and I was thinking that it'd take me a while to get one capable of 1080. Then the next night, my cat knocked my monitor over and cracked it, so I bought a new one. Turns out it does full HD. Hah, go strange chances.

  • you are one ugly motherfucker , and u live thee nerd life, good job being lonely and petting ur cat till you fall asleep.

  • ksegura14 - I share the apartment with my fiancée, actually.

But thanks for being a total asshole for no reason.

    - Jon

  • teeeheee*gives you a high five*

  • @JPizzle1122

    Jealousy, evidently

  • @ksegura14 wow ur so ignorant. Just because he knows stuff he's a nerd, has no life and lives alone?

  • @ksegura14 your a massive knob, how can you offend someone for being a nerd when they make probably double what you make a year because of it?

  • @MattieKirby1 lol wtf is a knob...

ohhh no its not like im 18...gtfo

  • @ksegura14 can you seriously not read? or can you just not spell?

  • I like the idea you have here but I most likely won't watch in HD because My internet connection would cause me to have to wait forever for the video to buffer.

  • is 1280 x 800 1080p HD

  • cobover - No... please pay attention and go back to math class.

800 is not greater than 1080.

    - Jon

  • It's not like people with 1680x1050/1440x900 screens cannot watch 1080p HD.

Playing it in 1080p mode will still give you a much sharper image over 720p on any monitor larger than 720p. And it's not like everyone who watches, plays the videos in full screen mode anyways.

But regardless, 1080p > 720p, and I'm looking forward to the change.

  • CheckExplicit - That was exactly my point - you can watch it, but unless you full-screen it on a good monitor, you're not truly watching 1080.

    - Jon

  • yuur cat is BEASTT

  • when i watch in 1080 it is jumpy, like the frame rate was really low. but when im on 720 it is fine. does that mean i don't have a 1080+ monitor? its an older CRT lol

  • Jon youre awesome

  • I don't really get the difference, cuz all it does is make my computer slower. But hey, good for you.

  • animechatchat234 - Do you honestly not understand the difference between HD and SD?

    - Jon

  • I'm not saying there's no difference at all, and I understand you guys are professionals, but I think the actual show is more important than the quality and that (like u said) only a small percentage of viewers can watch anyways.

  • animechatchat234 - Actually 100% of my audience can watch HD content.

What I said was that only 5% can watch the 1080p, specifically. But that'll go up in the coming years.

    - Jon

  • oh, srry for not being specific, what i originally meant to say is that i cannot understand the difference between 720 and 1080. and yes, i really dont understand the difference between them

  • animechatchat234 - What don't you understand?

One has a resolution 360 pixels taller than the other... it's the difference between most broadcast HD television programs, and a good BluRay.

    - Jon

  • I can only run 720P

  • Perfefct for my 1920 by 1080p Computer screen =D

Now for an internt upgrade to 40MB :P or something haha

  • Your cat has big eyes

  • Blah all your videos lately have been rated over 18 so i cant watch it. :( sadface

  • ishikawa92 - It's actually just the last two, but I suppose if you wanted to make shit up, "all" would work instead.

    - Jon

  • Oh by all i meant recently :)

  • I can't watch HD Youtube videos due to my broadband speed but even in 480p it still looks really good! Keep up the good work.

  • so slow!

  • Good time to have my 1920 by 1080 screen lol.

  • 1920 x 1080 = 1080p---1280 x 720= 720p

  • I LOVE 1920

  • PS3 remote AND KITTEH!!! DOES IT EAT CHEEZBERGERS?

  • it looks great man!

  • @thepoliceism

Uh, no. 720 is 720 pixels in height. p means that it's progressive video.

The 1080 means that it is 1080 pixels in height. the i just means that it is interlaced.

  • I saw a Behringer mixer, eww :P

What file format do you export it as when you edit it? MP4? H.264?

(Apparently the comment adding feature isn't working for me on the video page, I have to use the "See all comments" page, hmm... )

  • why do i only get 6.5 frames per second in any hd video? the picture quality looks great, but i get slow frames per second even on 360p

  • @sockeron

That depends on your computer's performance.

  • 1080p is a lil choppy =/

  • @sheerMOZE

That will have to depend on your computer's performance, unfortunately.

  • beautiful!

  • JPizzle1122 i have a graphics card capable of going to a res of 2048x1536 but my res is on 1024x768 pixls can i watch HD content?

  • Atlantis0723 - Only 720.

    - Jon

  • No it won't be in HD unless you change the res to 1080P.

  • i actually have a hd pc moniter

  • JPizzle1122, you have some flaws in your video.

    1. Current screen resolution is not the same thing as maximum screen resolution.

    2. I have a webcam I paid $80 for that records great 1080p footage. Sure you can get slightly better quality if you pay on range of $3000, but don't be so ready to scoff at cheaper hardware solutions.

    3. I could build a computer from parts for $500 that would render 1080p like a champ. Once again, don't exaggerate the difficulty.

  • Arm4g3dd0nX -

    1) I never said they were

    2) It's not just about the quality... does your webcam come with two XLR inputs and a three-stop ND-filter? I didn't think so.

    3) I build computer... I built mine. You're talking out of your fucking ass if you think you know what you're talking about.

I'm not talking about "rendering" the 1080p footage itself (doesn't need to be rendered!)- I'm talking about rendering a show like JPMN, which you couldn't do inside of 3 hours with a $500 PC.

    - Jon

  • Talking out of my ass? Yeah, your right, it's not like I have over 2,000 videos on YouTube in HD. Oh wait, that's right, I do.

You should be more careful when responding to your commenters, you can easily find yourself arguing with someone with more experience than yourself, like in this case. Now your application of profanity just makes you seem even more childish.

  • Arm4g3dd0nX - 2,000+ videos? Well, good for you... but that doesn't change the fact that I was right on all three of my counter-points. And just because you uploaded more videos doesn't make you more experienced - the fact that I have a college degree, and have been working with video and in the television industry for the past decade is experience.

Sorry if I offended you, but you were wrong.

    - Jon

  • go jon!

  • Looks like somebody has an ego

  • @XionSethShreve - You're referring to Arm4g3ddonX?

    - Jon

  • @Arm4g3dd0nX

Your point number 2 is the equivalent of comparing a 10 megapixel slim camera to a 5 megapixel DSLR camera.

There are significant differences-- lenses. The DSLR lenses are much ebtter, likewise with a professional video camera.

Sensor size: The DSLR sensor is much larger, allowing for increased sensitivity without the expense of noise. Similar with a professional video camera.

And other goodies, like outputs and inputs and stuff.

  • @mrairplaneman777

** 10 megapixel DSLR camera, that was a strange typo there.

  • A 5MP DSLR still OWNS the shit out of a 10MP point and shoot :P

The man compared a 1080p "capable" webcam to a pro video camera, do you honestly think he knows what an image sensor or noise is? :p

  • BarricadeSlade - But he has over 2,000 videos! He must be an expert!

    - Jon

  • @JPizzle1122 Rofl.

I have a pair of dual-driver earphones, that must make me an audio expert :P

I have a dSLR, that must make me a professional photographer. :p

I use Macs, that must make mean I'm rich.

    (sarcasm!)

megapixels, megahertz, gigabytes, etc, companies gotta find some way for stupid people to buy their products. his webcam may do 1080p, prolly at 7FPS and a shitton of noise haha.

Ignorance is going to kill the human race one day.

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer to watch on 1080p mode even though my monitor can't support it with my resolution 720p looks a little fuzzy and with 1080p even though I can't technically enjoy it completely does look better than 720p. Can't wait to see the new episodes.

  • You are lacking intelligence my friend. 720p and 1080p look exactly the same unless you have a screen which is 46". Your screen is not physically large enough to show you any difference in clarity.

  • @DeadlySoul123

First of all my intelligence is not the one in question here. considering that in computer monitors the majority of 24" screens have a resolutiopn of 1920x1080 or more and if you take a 1280x720 (720p) video and blow it up to 1680x1050 (my screen resolution) you will in fact see videos degrade in quality. its not like a tv where you would in fact be right.

  • @DeadlySoul123 AsI said to JPizzle, it looks alot better to scale 1080p down to my resolution than to try and scale up the 720p.

  • @DeadlySoul123 No my friend idiot. It is correct in some way, yes on a TV where you are located 3 meters away from your TV, you cannot distinguish the two. However on a PC screen where you are something like 50 cm away from your monitor, you can. 1080p _FTW

  • This is bullcrap. I have a 24", and I can see a clear difference between 720p and 1080p. But this argument is as old as dirt. so let's leave it alone and consentrate on the microwave show!

  • mammothmeat - I never said you couldn't tell a difference, I said without a 1080p capable monitor, you're not actually watching true-1080p footage.

    - Jon

  • My comment was not aimed at you Jon, I was replying to "helganatt", I have no idea why it doesn't show up as a reply to that particular post.

    Keep up the good work!

  • No wait.. it wasn't "helganatt".. but now I can't find the original post.. oh well

  • icecoldwolf - Yeah, I hate to break it to you - but as I clearly said in the video, you're not actually watching 1080p footage at all.

    - Jon

  • @JPizzle1122

Well I understand that I won't be watching it at 1080p, but in 1080p mode it provides better clarity at my resolution of 1680x1050 than 720p. thats all I am saying.

  • @JPizzle1122 rather than blow the 720p video up to my resolution I find it makes the image clearer to have the 1080p scaled down if that makes sense and thats all I am trying to convey.

  • icecoldwolf - I understand what you're saying, just be aware that you're not actually watching 1080p.

    - Jon

  • I have the same as below.

I still need to get my DVI cable.

  • Okay, I have a question. My sister has a flatscreen LCD monitor that is obviously wider and bigger than my current CRT monitor (which is a dinosaur of a monitor) and I just now hooked it up to my computer just to see if the display properties would tell me the maximum of her monitor. It still said 1280 by 1024. So, would I have to restart the computer to see the difference or is it the same, even though hers is bigger?

  • Comment removed

  • itsCATURAY - Please don't comment if you have no idea what you're talking about.

There are plenty of CRTs that can display HD footage...

    - Jon

  • Is 1600 X 900 good for the 1080p ? please answer, someone

  • @Nokitfer No, because your vertical is less than 1080p. You can watch 720p, though.

  • 1920 x 1080 is 1080p HD but thats good also

  • Oh, lol ok thanks

  • Maybe a tad out of sync in 1080p at the end. Didn't notice before the annotation, and didn't bother to see he video again.

  • maby its just me but look like sound and vid are out of sink

  • i have a Samsung 2494hs full hd 1920x1080 full HD 16:9 monitor i love it movies look sweet

  • Looks sweet. Why'd it get out of sync though..

  • my screen is too big.

grats on teh HD switch and new camera :D

  • its only out of sync at the end when its on 360p for me...
