I love this song. I also love how that although this song was originally written about her Torres Strait island home she adapted it and it works perfectly for Australia and then finally when the globe forms she's singing actually about The Earth. We all live on an island home in space. I think it works beautifully.

Beautiful song and great concert. Sadly it's true and fact that the modern torch relay olympic ceremony pageant style as we know it is based on the ideas started at the 1936 Olympics under Hitler in Germany. Sports photography as we know it today is also based largely on the pioneering German director Leni Reifenstahl who was funded to film the olympics as a Nazi spectacle.

George leaves Anu for dead and its a shame that Australia could not bring itself to show Warumpi at the Olympics instead of an idealised version of a white mans black and a song co-opted for mainstream...it sucks but luck to Anu for what she did with it...Good on you Warumpi Band

Let's not also forget that Ms Anu was formerly a backing singer for Warumpi Band, and if I recall correctly it was the band members themselves who encouraged her on a solo career. And to see her then at the Olympics was such a reward for her and also fans like me. Thanks again for sharing this with us.
