  • Thank you so much. one of my favourite songs to a great match -You have taste and patience and this is on my playlist -I owe you

  • The Art of getting by move me here :x

  • Great.

  • this song touched my heart immediately.

  • I for one think you have a natural talent for editing, good sense of timing, matching frames, etc.

  • Art of Getting By. Thank you so much for showing me this song!

  • this is so....i dint know what to say! so sad,so beautiful.

by the way, this song show on the movie- the art of getting by =D

  • a lot of people listening to The Art of Getting By soundtrack list :D

  • Ah Clint, to Cohen - fantastic, thank you...

  • When I hear this song I just think of that close up of Julie Christie

  • Love this.-3 and the Art of Getting By!-3

  • i love it

  • The Art of Getting By :P

  • Cohen and Eastwood, winning combination

  • nice work on the video. better than I could do, I've only figured out how to use still photos/artwork.

  • loved McCabe and Mrs. Miller, loved the Unforgiven, loved this video.

  • what a terrific song. Great mood.

  • "McCabe & Mrs. Miller" and "The Unforgiven" are two very similar Westerns, and perhaps the best of their genre. I think you have done a fine job of matching Cohen's music to this clip. But, alas, my heart belongs to "McCabe".

  • @pedonbio i agree that they're both compelling pictures - but surely 'unforgiven' is much, much harsher - and its sadistic realism doesn't really equate with the romantic, gothic, dreamlike 'mccabe'...despite the sad endings and maladroit details in both.

  • great images, great song

  • Your first video? Really?

This is very good. Very damn good. You show good instincts, good understanding of the material. William Munny could have sang this song himself. To match this great song with this great film - it is TRUE! Well done! Do more.

  • I'm just a station on your way,

I know I'm not your lover.

at this moment ,this song is so true ,so it almost kills me but in the same moment is the easier way to deal with truth...

  • I think this works well, enhances my memory of the film. Of course Leonard Cohen is magnificent

  • I love this song!

    Check out my version here

  • beautiful rocanon!

  • Music cisum whoa. this is as good as it gets

  • it works ????????????/

  • Well done, beautiful!

  • I love the video, very nice.

  • There is nothing you can do I don't love

  • Nicely done, very moody. Everyone needs to see the origingal scene form Mcabe & Mrs Miller to see one of the best films made.

  • Clint could do Theodore Melbourne Wigle down to a T. Mel never yelled. He just whispered & that was the good side to him. People marvelled at how much I could take in the ways of abuse, "Oh, you don't understand. I've been thru the Mel Wigle program!" After him everything is an aftermath. He taught me the skills of sharp shooter, rope, box, wrestle, play hide & seek injun style & how to get back up on a horse after it throws you, how to remove bullets, fix a broken bone, Winter isn't that bad

  • i wish someone would teach me those things

  • Such a beautiful, moving song. One needs to see it in the context of McCabe & Mrs. Miller. Altman's best movie, at least to me.

  • beautiful. and i don't comment on anything on youtube, i just don't. very, very nice. the song choice, the clips, everything.

  • Il fallait oser .Bravo !! for such a wonderful song your video is wonderful too.Try to make another one on the song" priests" of leonard Cohen. See you later.

  • Has any one seen the movie Mc Cabe and Mrs Miller, director Robert Altman ....?

  • Yes, it's one of my favourite films, and I have no idea why it is.

  • Hi, I just did a wiki and found a few worthy comments. I wasn't aware Julie Christie was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress, for one but it was the music for me, then chemistry,... and OK Warren too...I love this movie it rained a lot and then snowed...ahem

  • It rained and snowed... and so did the music in a way, so do love and opium in their way, and it has both. I wasn't in love when I saw it, but opiates...

  • @jazhand Oh good a different way of looking at this movie, I saw a different side when she begged him to sell out or die...but I can see your side too.

  • MOST beautiful film ever made.

  • Well said, I am not sure why the film Unforgiving with Clint Eastwood was chosen here and not McCabe & Mrs. Miller the 1971 western directed by Robert Altman, but rocanon chose a beautiful song.)

  • I've always thought of the film as a moving work of art, starting with the opening scene in the tavern which is completely DaVinci's The Last Supper. The entire film is so replete with religious symbolism you have to see it over and over again. You keep seeing more and more.

  • Great blend! I'm a longtime fan of both Cohen and Eastwood, they would both be proud.

  • Great song good movie !!!

  • this song is a little jewel

  • Bita Eastwood's Unforgiven

    awesome

  • Excellent. well done.

Lovely song and haunting scenes. Wonderful.

  • good job,i'm a fan of both Leonard & Clint.keep it up bro..

  • For my taste everything is for +5

  • Excellent video for an excellent LC song. Encore!!!

  • This is one of the most sad and beautiful songs I've heard, and it matches on of the saddest and most beautiful movies I've ever seen: McCabe and Mrs. Miller. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • yes. The song seems to fit so well with the eerie tenderness of Mccabe / Mrs Miller..... especially the last shot of beatty dead in the snow.

  • An excellent first attempt at posting a video....actually it would be excellent if was your 50th attempt!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It soothes my savage beast.

  • awsome song and video, too!!

    :)

  • Excellent song!

  • I think the music went so well with this movie that it could have been the soundtrack.

  • I have to disagree with some of the comments here -- I think this works very well with the scenes from UNFORGIVEN. I am a huge fan of McCabe and Mrs Miller and will always picture scenes from that movie when I hear the song, but this really works (and it happens to be another of my movie favorites as well).

  • Good Cohen song but I don't think it works with these scenes from Unforgiven, that is my opinion, maybe the first 20 sec-first 2 shots is okay

  • I agree.

  • Thanks,Rick

  • awesome video

    very well thought of

    keep it up

  • Hello!

Very good job! This music WITH "UNFORGIVEN" and a wonderful, older Eastwood fits very good together!

    Thank You,

    from Germany

  • Leonard Cohen is all about your own iterputation and I think you do this well. t song

  • Just added to my favorites. Thank you!

  • McCabe and Mrs Miller was not based on Leonard Cohen's music.

That movie was done before Robert Altman decided to use Cohen's music for the film.

The music does fit the movie's mood. McCabe and Mrs. Miller is a classic.

As for this video, good work.

  • Thanks for the video; it motivated me to do something I've been meaning to do for years, buy a copy of McCabe & Mrs. Miller. Now if I could only find someplace to just lie down in the snow and watch it.

  • Dear Rocanon- congrats on first attempt- Cohen is my man BUT IT DOESN'T FIT HERE AND MCACABE AND MRS MILLER WERE BASED ON HIS WORK AND I DON'T WANT TO DISCOURAGE BUT NON- SEEMS NOT, PLAGARISM BUT YOU CAN DO BETTER

BEST WISHES AND I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE

  • I definitly liked the movie. Good Job!

  • very enjoyable thankyou

  • thank you for this video.

  • The song might not fit the actual circumstances of Unforgiven but I don't think it matters, this video is lovely, like a visual poem. It reminded me of how much I love that middle scene and how Muny is as sweet as circumstances will allow - "I reckon if I did want a free one, it'd be with you." Brilliant work.

  • great

  • The music & the movie were absolutely perfect for each other. In my opinion, quite possibly one of the best movies ever. I understand Altman & Beatty both hated the movie; hmmmmmm?!

  • great movie

  • Best western ever.

I don't know if winter lady really fits with the movie though.

  • Beautiful!

  • Did you watch "MCabe & Mrs. Miller"?

  • Yes I did it's just I try to ilustrate the music with images that I think will go with the poem, I just uploaded "sisters of mercy" maybe you want to take a look. Thanks!

  • mccabe & mrs miller was the first time i heard this song and was hooked... i thought that seen was more appropriate ... the song is what it is...

  • the song is timeless and well crafted... the scene is what it is
