Oh...also at the end of this video he rips the card in half...on the DVD there is a bonus that I was not expecting. The reconstruction. Infront of you just like this video he puts the card back together and hands it out for inspection.
to us magicians who knows how to do warp its kinda obvious but the effect is amazing to ppl which have no knowledge about it , and they are the ppl we perform to
Absolutely stunning. I've been out of the magic loop for some time but trying to get back into it. Paul Harris was a huge influence on me and I can see why you worked with him. A true, visual moment of astonishment and strange.
''It took 8 months to develop this and 13 years to perfect. It is simple, but you must learn the right way'' Garbage lol it was Roy Walton who came up with this effect Card Warp.
He invented it 40 years ago!!! And you've got a cheek selling it of as one of your own.
Actually Roy Walton is not the original inventor of the 'card warp concept'. It was Jeff Busby in 1969 (I believe is the correct year) with an effect called, 'Into the Fourth Dimension, and Beyond'. It was done with a single card pushed through the fist and twisted. Roy Walton took the concept and added a second card, calling it 'Card Warp'. Jeff is usually not given credit for the effect, even though it began with him, and Roys is actually the variation (an EXCELLENT one, I might add!).
Both are mentioned in the credits part of my DVD, and I did have the honor of speaking with Roy (by telephone - he is in England) and received permission (not that it is legally needed) to publish Warp One. Warp One is also more of a variation on Busby than Walton, since it only uses one card.
hay david i dont know if you remeber me but you went to preforme at my 10th birthday my name is anthony pena my dad works whith your brother joseph jenkins if you dont remeber me i do oh ya it was inutah salt lake city see ya
Cherry... This can be done by anyone--no slick hands. I have ten year olds doing this. The important thing...get the actual DVD (reconstructing it will NOT produce the same effect). Follow my instructions exactly with correct finger placement. (in other words, just learn it correctly, and it will look great!) -Thx
It took 8 months to create and 13 years to perfect. There are a lot of VERY subtle things going on there to get this to happen and look so smooth. Call my office at (801) 766-2442 ((801) 76-MAGIC) or order online.
I was just wondering, One day, almost 4 years ago I believe, I came upon the six million dollar coach on ebay. I absolutely enjoyed listening to the preiview to the CD, the way your voice sounded seemed to really calm my nerves. I was wondering if you've done any other voice work or still have that demo?
Good memory. Yes, we still sell the Six Million Dollar Coach CD (but you must purchase directly from my office now). We actually have over 6,000 feedbacks with 100% positive, with many people saying it changed their life. (it really was a great and rewarding endeavor)I still do personal coaching and corporate training also. There is so much incredible wonder in each of us, and we can heal of anything. Glad you liked the voice. I feel anyone can have that, just honestly care and speak it. Thanks
your so smooth! i can't do it like that. i prop it in another bent card and push it up until i improve just the 1 card manouver.. could you give me any tips how you do it so smoothly cos your fingers are in full view at all times.. thanks
Ricky, you need to purchase my DVD, available from most magic shops, or from myself. It teaches all the ins and outs. It took 8 months to develop this and 13 years to perfect. It is simple, but you must learn the right way. Look to purchase online, or call my office at (801) 766-2442
David I may be wrong but are using half of a second card ? If so u hide it so well. Very smooth...........I may have it I dunno. In any rate much props man. That is practice.
No, this is really done with only one card. Get the video, it will show you how to do it. That is the beauty of it. You can do this with any playing card (or business card).
this is really weird but also a great alternative for this trick, I did this trick with cheese.yes i know what you're thinking but i actualy worked! of course it had to lay in the fridge for a while and i coloured one side green for the effect but i did work!I sometimes preform it for family and friends and they think its a 'cheesy' trick. Nice work david.
learn it just the way I teach it, noticing the finger positions. Then start performing it. The key in magic is not just in practicing, but in practicing performing.
I have seen this done, but with two cards. Fold one card hamburger way, the other hot dog way. Insert the "hot dog " card inside of the "hamburger card", then slide the "hot dog" card almost half way thru the other card. Same principle.
Hey David--on a lark I looked up your name on utube--you always loved being in the spotlight, after all. Respond to this post & I'll get an email to you or a phone number or something (when I figure out how to do that here without putting it on utube publicly.)
David I just bought Warp one 3 days ago Practiced it for like 2 days and did a couple of times at the bar I was at last night. Awesome Effect. Oh and my performance went well. I used the comment on the 2 cards and wouldn't it be cool if you caould do it without the second card. Thanks man
Hey David. Just to say I've owned the DVD for about 6 months now, and I love it. Gets great reactions, and with the alternate ending, jaws hit the floor!
Thanks. I'm glad it's going well. I just love the effect. It leaves the audience with no explanation whatsoever. Keep your eyes open for more stuff from me.
Well worth the cost of the DVD. I've been performing it for my close friends and family, and already the reactions are great. After I got the moves down, I went back and watched David's style and it adds a ton to the trick.
WOW! Im ordering this with my birthday money from Magictricks.co.uk, could you tell me how long it roughly took you to get it to your level and also does it require you to wear a ring like melting point cos i never do so it would be unnatural? Thanks man, ur the best, wow...David Ren Jenkins himself...
Hi Thrash, I hope you get this. It does not take a ring. I took me 8 years to come up with this, 13 years to perfect it, but most people can learn it in a few days. Good luck. Let me know how it goes and what questions you have.
No Ring, just empty hands and one card. It took me 8 months to develop it, 13 years to perfect it, but it should take you a few days to learn it well. Everything is laid out for you, and very angleproof. David
No ring, Thrash, just two empty hands and a single card. It took me years to develop, but people can learn it in a night. Practice a few days, etc. and it is yours. I also teach how to put the pieces back together and how to do it all with business cards.
You can really tell the difference on youtube of the ones who have the video vs. the ones who try and recreate it. This was developed over 13 years and there are some very subtle moves that make it angle proof. I don't know what your time is worth per hour, but it may be worth it to get the dvd. (besides being ethical)
you did it in 55 seconds. i did it in 1 minute 21 seconds. and your's still looked way way better than mine. don't know how you managed to cram all the subtleties and details into such a short period of time. fantastic.
Yes, I am. I posted this here because someone on a magic forum could not view the .mov format. Yes, Paul is a great guy. It was an honor when he called me up asking about the effect. I must say, Paul had an incredible commitment to the quality of every detail of the project.
Outstanding performance . Second to none . Got the DVD . I may be some time. Kind regards Terry Rea

There is also a similar magic trick to this called Time Machine.
But this is much more visual, and probably easier.
Main weakness or need, fast and slick hands.
