  • EPCO BCD396XT P25 Comunication BAD.avi

  • EPCO 25 Yes, here the working frequency is VHF, is a system of motorola. I tune a trunk,, the frequencies changing in the display, but a listen + - only 20% of communication,, I am in Sao Paulo Brazil, thanks very much for the help,, I have a video here on youtube with this name below, see there,, OK, EPCO BCD396XT P25 Comunication BAD.avi

  • BCD396XT, What's this? help me !!! the frequency changes but most

the audio is encoded, "I hear so crackling" ... I hear only one side of the communication another part is encoded. the radio is defective or is configuration. How to make the correct configuration ?

  • @kaka7531 Please give me some more information. What frequency, what agency, what state and town? You can find a lot of good help at the Radio Reference web site. Google "radio reference" There is a forum there that might have the answer you need.

  • great vid, thx for your time fella!!

  • great camera quality..great video..well done..thanx!

  • thank you!

    great video!

  • I had a Uniden tabletop years ago I got second hand without the user manual and they would not provide me another. For any amount of money.

I kinda swore off [and at] Uniden then.

If you think this one would be the best I could get for monitoring police about to pull me over I might give them another try.

[I get a lot of tickets, nice to know the cops mood before they get to my window, you understand..lol]

  • Well, My first suggestion would be to slow down. What's the big hurry anyway? LOL As for hearing the cops, if you are monitoring them and if they transmit via radio then most likely any digital truning scanner will pick it up - unless, of course, they are encrypted. Remember though that many departments so most of their trffic through MDT - dispatch to the cops computer in the car. In this case, you won't hear a thing. Happy travels!

  • @GeoN0JRJ

Maybe one day I'll grow out of this lead foot, cause I know your right! LOL

Yeah there's really other reasons to get this model, it's got most everything one could want in a hh scanner.

Thanks for your time and expertise [and wit!]

    Have a good day, Sir!

  • All the best my friend. The 995T is a great scanner. I have one in my car. Only thing is, u need a PC to pgm it. THe Home Patrol is enter a zip code or auto track with GPS. All Freqs already in the box. Either one is nice.

And friend, remember this, No matter how rich you are, no matter how popular you may be, the size of your funereal is going to depend on the weather. ;-)

  • @GeoN0JRJ

Yeah, the Home Patrol looks good also.

About the funeral? I'm gonna be cremated.

You seem like really good people.

    Please take care, FRIEND.

  • Have you tried the GRE PSR-700 Police Scanner?

If so which do you prefer?

  • I used to be all about Radio shack / GRE but only buy Uniden now. I do not think I'll ever go back.

  • Thanks for this video budd. Well dome

  • Im looking at either this scanner or a minitor 4 (im firedept). I like the minitor 4 because of its size, how I can wear it on my belt all the time. Is this scanner small enough to wear on your belt for an extended period of time? Thanks GREAT VID!

  • really good video my new radio should come in next week any more posted video on this radio

  • hey i found one of these and cant seem to pick up a station any help will be good thanx

  • Double check the antenna connection. If that looks good, put in one of the 5 standard national weather service frequencies for your area. These are strong broadcasts and you should get something on one of those. If that fails, the front end might be damaged on your scanner.

    Good luck!

  • Its taken me weeks to get to the point you just covered. Great help. Thanks for posting. Look forward to the programming with softward vid.

  • Thanks for this Sir! I was thinking about getting the bcd396Xt but was intimidated by the complexity of it. Your video has helped to dispell my worries. Will probably buy one shortly. Thanks again!

  • You've got to read the manual!!!

  • would this work f ex with rode ntg-2?

  • Please give me a litle more info here. I don't understand the question. Sorry.

  • The Rode NTG-2 is a wireless shotgun mic, and I wonder if the scanner takes up the sound of the mic?

  • We need to know the frequency of the MIC to answer this. If you don't know, it will probably be on the label of the transmitter box. If not there, search on Google for the model number. Once you have the frequency you can see quite easily if the Scanner will get it by checking the scanner receive specifications.

I would bet it does, and that the mic is FM or WFM mode. Let me know how it goes!

  • At radioreference homepage, is the RadioReference Database CD the thing needed to get all the .bct files for my area of operation? I travel cross country so it would be great to have access to other state .bct's at the same time. Thanks for any info!

  • Actually, I use RR to download frequencies using either BCtool or ARC396. The software does the formatting automatically.

If you have access to the internet while traveling I would not get the CD. If not, the CD would be good to have.

    Hope this helps

  • I have not owned the GRE-PSR500 but it looks like a fine scanner. I have owned the 396 for a long time and really like the ease and efficiency of its programming. Of course it programs a lot differently than the GRE but, once you get the idea behind it, its a breeze.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Just got mine yesterday. Also got few antenna's, car charger, PC cable, external charger, car holder adapter. Programming was very easy. I love the scanner! Thanks again.

  • Great! Hope you continue to enjoy it! I love mine too.

  • hello i have one but cant seem to seem to get the freg in and work out differnt bands could u explain in simple laymans term how to just do it i read the manual but loose the track of it cheerio

  • Excellent video! THANK YOU!!!

What would be your choice Uniden BCD 396T or GRE-PSR500?

  • I've owned nothing but RS GRE units, currently have a 106 and was wondering does the Uniden dynamic memory allocation work somewhat the same way as object oriented memory? I'm thinking about purchasing a 396xt when it comes out. I guess I could just post this on RR but I'll do it here as well. 73's

  • I have used both types also and consider the Uniden so much easier to program. I believe it allocates memory in a much more efficient manner too. Thanks for posting the comment!

  • iM A REALISTIC MAN MYSELF

  • I was forever. In fact, the 596 was the first Uniden I have ever bought. From a programming standpoint, I think it beats the Radio Shack - GRE models hands down. But, I still have a few old R/S scanners around and I still use them.

    Thanks for commenting!

  • DUH! I mean the 396. Not the 596. Don't know where that came from.

  • Can you please tell me how you are able to put lost and found message before the start screen boots up? I have a 996T

  • On the 396 I used PC software to make this change.

On ARC396 SW go to View tab, Configuration Editor, General Settings, Opening Message.

On BCTOOL SW (FREE!) go to Radio tab, Radio settings, Opening Message.

I do not know if this will work for the 996 but do not see why it would not. Let me know how it goes.

  • You might also check the 996 forum on Yahoo groups. They may have an idea.

  • hey great info sir. i appreciate this video. thank you.

  • Tetra is like a Nextel cell phone on steroids. Sorry to say, Tetra uses 100% encryption.

  • Can i listen whit this scanner tetra in europe? 73

  • I do not know right off the top of my head. It would depend on the frequency range and if they are using any trunking systems that are supported by the scanner. Your best bet is to go to the BCD396 forum on yahoo and check the posts. If you do not see an answer, post the question there. Good Luck!

  • Thank you! Good Luck

  • Hope you make more videos....Very well explained video as I'm considering getting rid of my Uniden 296D and going for a Uniden 396....

  • Great job sir. I am impressed with your video. Thank you

  • Long time scanner owner who believes you are really providing a service if you continue a series of videos of the quality of your first.

    Great job

  • I thought I knew it all! but did learn something new! thanks can't wait for more

  • very cool video. You can check out my scanner videos on my page if you want.

  • Very Cool. Great info thanks a bunch GeoN0JRJ!!!
