  • As one who has been spoiled by Gunpla models, 250-300 dollars for this seems... far too pricey, especially considering the lack of double jointed elbows and knees. In the legs it's a bit more excusable considering the over all blocky design of the leg, as well as the general way the transformation works, but for that money I could get a perfect grade gundam at a much greater size, and maybe two more master grades. Unless this gets a US release, I'm skipping this.

  • I just ordered mine. :D

  • man of red and boxes lol

  • six days till his arrival at my door, Oh my oh my oh my..I must dust my classics shelf XD oh yeah Outstanding review. felt like you were selling him, what an advertisement.

  • How does he stack up to Grimlock and Star Scream?

  • actually this is the first review ive seen of this guy cuz at first i really didnt like fig from pic i rather much have the first one cuz i dont have either but now i cant belive this this but watching the transformation u ....u .... u starting to make me .ch ...change my opinion on this guy ...

WHAT KIND OF BLACK MAGIC ARE YOU USING ON ME !!!?!?!?!?!?

  • @MrVash104 classics advertisement from the nineteen hundreds

  • Wait people are complaining about a G1 Optimus having a small head?

Because i am looking at my G1 Optimus right now and his head is absolutely miniscule.

  • 5:20 OBJECTION!!!!

  • You need to get SRC Dekaranger Robo, he has clickety joints all over and beautiful executed double jointed knees and elbows that extand to avoid the vehicle bits! It has gorgeous engineering!

  • Why don't you just paint the lights like you did on that third party Headmaster set?

And what's so bad about the price of this Convoy compared to the TFC Hercules set?

  • Beautiful piece!

  • If they don't make a MP Soundwave, I am definitely using this guy as a base. He'd be awesome. Especially for the Finger of Doom. Bitches looove the Finger of Doom.

  • The loss of the light-up chest gimmick from the original doesn't bother me too much. Removing the double-jointed knees from MP-01, however, does. It seems strange that that couldn't be included when the legs extend in the same way. On the other hand, the new design is just so nice looking! I'll be seriously tempted to get this when (if) it hits retail, despite having MP-01. Need to get Grimlock first, though...

  • That's quite possibly the best looking Prime figure I've seen in a while, such a great array of detail and design and it's well held together and its beautiful to look at as well. Great review sir!

  • How is not having more joints racist

  • @hughcri How is it NOT racist? Holy shit.

  • 7.46, Optimus thinks he is the Inhumanoid D.Compose. :D

  • Wow. Finally. :D

  • Optimus G1, classic and awesome =D

  • It gives great click, but can he take a good click ;-)

    Awesome review man!

  • Narrator and you...I don't think you're going to make it long term. There are fundamental flaws in your relationship. You should try counseling.

  • What's up Vange1us,

I missed out on the 20th anniv. version of the masterpiece. So I was skeptical about this redux (chance of mold degredation). Thanks for doing this review, it actually answered my questions.

    Cool vid !

  • must buy...

  • Your review is very entertaining and I love the close-ups during transformation.

  • ok. now i want this figure....... must wait for hasbro version.....

  • @zizzlerizzle8707 lol, you wont resist nerd, cuz I couldn't and I'm too happy XD plastic over money.

  • @dimondskyable well yea, but i dont have the $ for the takara release

  • @zizzlerizzle8707 if you wait for the US version you will miss the trailer, Takara will just fix the feet pegs for hasbro...you will get stuck looking for the trailer and will pay the exact amount. its hasbro' way of letting Japan make money too.

  • @dimondskyable yeah. but i'm not too fussed about potentially missing out on the trailer

  • Optimus Prime: the man, the myth, the machine.

  • @MaverickhunterXZero the man? ~.^

  • @Vange1us for the previous videos it seemed you've lost what made them special in my opinion. In this one I've seen it come back and unlike typically skipping through most of the video I watched every second from start to end. Please, whatever you did to this video keep it up so I can look forward to it again, and no I don't strictly watch you for transformers either so that's not why I said your vids started lacking.

  • plz let it come to the USA!!!

  • @firearm99 Oh I do agree with'cha man including the trailer as well !!!

  • If u position it right Optimus can be Tendou Sougi ( Kamen Rider Kabuto)

  • i had the first one but i find out it was meant to play with XD

  • While it's still tight enough to hold poses, the neck hinge on my MP-10 (for moving up and down) is pretty loose on mine too. It won't just flop down though.

  • I kinda miss the desk.. But nice review!

  • "Moisture has occurred!"

  • Sorry subtitles, but I have to agree with Vangelus about the double joints. Something this expensive these day should be able to get at least about a 130 in their arms and legs.

  • this may have been asked before but does this mp prime come with the megatron gun like the original mp prime?,thanks....cool review by the way

  • nerdgasm

  • yikes another one i already own 2 versions of the masterpiece convoy i think ill pass on this one

  • 7:39, he looks like that he is about to kill Spike rather than saving him!

  • @Timinator6069 Oh no, he was just trying to download the Matrix into his head. (No wait, that was Buster Witwicky...)

  • Hey Van, how do you like this figure compared to TF: Prime Voyager Optimus (if you have it yet)?

  • Idk if this has been said yet here I go. Looks like Optimus took Spike's face off! No one is safe!!!

  • love the look of the figures looks but im very sad to see its lacking in articulation oh well. Did you have any trouble filming the figure sinces its bigger and im guessin a little bigger then your filimg area

  • @CobraCommanderTFW Actually...MP-10 is a lot smaller, he comes up to the original MP Prime's chest...but only barely. He is even a little shorter then MP Rodimus but a bit taller then MP Grimlock.

  • I think you problem with the double joints is you've been spoiled by Bandai and I think it is a little obvious

  • He's nice for sure, but I'll stick with his bigger forebearer.

  • Wheres the trailer?

  • @Krymzonthedemonslayr "Which isnt shown til next video..." He included it in the video so wait til next video...

  • does someone else put the words underneath you? cuz that would be even funnier

  • I'm actually VERY surprised we haven't had confirmation for a U.S. release yet. I'm so down for one now... THANKS VANGELUS!

  • Oh so pretty!!!

  • Once again great review Chris. I have to agree on with you on the alt. mode. It's the closest that comes to the Frieghtliner/Peterbuilt amalgamation from the cartoon. That being said I still prefer the MP-01 my self. I'm going to do a video review of on of DalianJJ's up scaled G1 trailers that came out before the MP-04.

  • Wow, I was expecting just another rehash of MP-01, but...this guy actually seems alot different, in his own ways...I might actually have to get this guy and pose 'im with my MP-01...

  • I love this figure but I still love MP-01 better and I hate that this guy is so pricy I know we get a Trailer but the MP-04 with trailer was the same price when it came out and it was bigger with light up features. Things are changing...Awesome Review Bro!

  • Waiting for a Skullman in a fedora to take me away...

  • Ratcheded, gorgeous, and chunky: Just like you :P

  • i hope when i got to my convention this june i can find one. well this or mp grimlock

  • Question: Does it weigh a ton? I have the old MP Optimus and the poor guy is a bit on the chunky side. I often had trouble posing him because his husky upper body would just keel right over and smash into the ground if you tried to get more adventurous.

  • "Rifle?" It's an Ion Cannon! Nerdgasm-ing over that sexy fllip-out gimmick, though.

  • @AAarcher221 Ion BLASTER.

  • I agree that at this pricepoint double joints on the elbows and knees are not too much to ask. Or at least some design that affords more than a ninety degree angle for each.

  • Yes, you ARE asking for a bit much with the jointage.

  • Hahaha, double-joint your face xD

  • I can wait for a NA release. If there's anything the movies have shown us, it's that Hasbro likes makin' their moneies with an endless stream of Optimi.

  • @shadowscribe And with endless stream of Bumblebees.

  • Is it just me or are Vangelus's reviews suddenly getting way shorter?

  • totally going to throw away 20th anniversery Optimus Prime when MP-10 is given his U.S release.

  • @AutovoltGTS even with the 20th including a load more features in terms of electronics and gimmicks?

  • @AutovoltGTS You can sell it to me :)

  • my wife thinks you sound like seth rogan

  • @badfriend But this guys actually funny.

  • I'll stick with MP-01.

  • Dude thanks for the review, I dig the figure a lot, he looks great... from the neck down... his head just looks wrong to me, his mouthplate is too big and his brow is too heavy, just looks wrong to me

  • £220! You're f-ing kidding me?

For that I'd expect way WAY better quality control than a floppy head and rather lack lustre details. I got a "battle damaged" older style MP Prime that cost me £40 ish, now that was a damn good deal, full die-cast etc. But £220 for plastic and by the sounds of it, rather rubbish plastic, no thanks.

  • I can't wait to get this thing.

  • FINALLY ! Thank you for this review vangelus, it's really worth it

  • Looks great. With a US release I am game but the Japanese price point is just unrealistic.

  • Lol @ 7:45

  • Is this one the same size as the original MP01?

  • @SirBlade666 No, MP-10 is smaller.

  • He does look fairly impressive. It makes me wonder how Ultra Magnus will turn out.

  • Don't worry. I can look at your hands all day~

  • 8:30

    OBJECTION!

  • Great review dude. I have MP-04 Prime, but I think I may end up getting this guy too lol. He's a bit pricey for no die-cast though, but hey-ho lol. Cheers for posting buddy :)

  • Looks like an awesome MP, I never got any of the previous MP Primes, if this gets a North America release I might just pick it up.

  • this looks amazing great review :)
