You must not be very familiar with video games. In video games, all it takes to recover from fatal wounds is either a great amount of food, or in some cases, a medical kit.

Even if you've been blasted apart by a bazooka, if your heath meter isn't completely drained, some food will fix you up in no time.

If only it was that easy in real life, we'd be practically immortal!

To those confused, in the video game series parodied, when you eat hot dogs, pizza, and the like, you recover health. Even after being shot. Thus, the doctors use such products to save lives. Also, getting shot up and taken to the hospital removes your wanted level. Which is why when you die, you start at a hospital, just like new.
