While usually I hate commenting on the Internet...

In my personal opinion, Shai Hulud was one of the most under-rated bands that came out of the late nineties hardcore and metal explosion (of which Killswitch Engage was a part of). While it IS unfair to compare bands to eachother, it's important to remember that they all shared common goals and interests that have led to their evolution and shaped who they are today. So... that should be a good thing, right?

amen! Shai hulud has been around 10 years before KSE was even a thought. Hulud started in 95-96 I think. I remember seeing them with V.O.D. and bands like that. KSE could never keep up with Hulud... end of story!

Shai Hulud has never really been a metal band. Some influences drawn from the genre, but you can also pick out a lot of old NYHC and some good ol' late 80's early 90's skate punk in their style.
