This is Weezer. It is on the CD single for The Good Life. I know because I have a copy of the Aussie Edition of the single. It is not originally a Rentals tune. The rentals did play it on their last tour, however.

This song has been linked to the rentals way before 2005. Sorry this is a Rentals song, I think matt sharp was the one who actually wrote it, might be wrong. He was the basist for both bands.

That sound would of been Weezer's. One of the reasons Rivers said he didnt release the "Songs from the Black Hole" album is because of the Rentals "Return of the Rentals", which borrowed its sound from SFTBH. Rivers said he didnt want people to think he copied them.

this is classic rivers cuomo writing! especially for a pinkerton b-side/black hole song. this is still a rivers song despite there being a chick singing and a synth playing along with the vocals. This was originally intended for a rock opera he was planning, and it fit in the storyline as a song to be sung by a girl.

This is NOT the rentals. Weezer (Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Brian Bell, Patrick Wilson) recorded this song before Weezer's Pinkerton album came out. In fact, the song was written and recorded by Rivers Cuomo before The Rentals even EXISTED.

The song is sang by Rachel Haden, a current member of The Rentals. She was not a member in 1995, when this song was recorded.

The Rentals didn't even cover the song for the public until 2005.

On the subject of dreams, here is mine. I am at the CD store and I find the new CD by Weezer-Songs From The Black Hole '09. It is a complete version of the rock opera. After "Dreaming" on The Red Album, they realized it was possible. Rivers Cuomo, Pat Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner are joined by guests Matt Sharp on Synthesizers and vocals, Rachel Haden on Vocals (both as characters)and the album is produced by Ric Ocasek. Then I wake up. This song reminds me of that.
