the show was an incredible achievement, and i feel really lucky to have watched it, its a shame that more people didn't, but we saw incredible talent and performances every week and im grateful :)
What a sin, The best T.V. show in recent memory fades into the sunset, while Tthe Bachelorette" enjoys top ratings and goes on ...endlessly. This show, Peter Berg's direction and one of telev ision's best cast ever went out as they lived on the show: with clear eyes and full hearts. What a shame that we lost this show
@CubbieBlue902 Yeah its crazy.. how come Cafferty did not get into a good college scholarship? He has been shown to be one of, if not the best all around player on the Lions. He was one of the best running backs in that league, he also started playing defense and became a great defender, he can catch, AND he even played QB a little bit when Vince and Coach were at odds.
@willferrelsux Yeah I know that was one thing that upset me about this year.. I mean him enlisting is real, but in season 4 he was supposed to be this really amazing player, and he even got that scholarship offer to that private high school.. I don't get it, and there was even an episode this season where Vince says Luke was All-State last season... I'm just gonna guess that it was a mixture of his size and his hip flexor from season 4 that limited what he'd be able to do in college.
LOve this show. SO sad its over. Wish they would bring it back as a movie or something but it needs to be in Texas. But if they dont, its okay. It was a great ending for an awesome show. Everytime I see the ending, I cry. Love it how it showed a happy ending for everyone involved.
Im a Junior in high school bu i cried too. Even though I hate it that it's over, I'm also glad that it ended the way it did. Clear Eyes Full Hearts Can't Lose!
@djk28161 Yeah even though school is out retard. Even if I was laughed at though I wouldn't care because I'm not an insecure little bitch like you are. Have a nice day =)
Everytime i put it through my head i realize that this show has actually ended and there is no more and its done forever, i get an empty feeling in my chest.
love how in the first episode ever riggins said to jason street "texas forever". The last ever episode says the same thing "texas forever" TEXAS FOREVER BABY
I am a 32 year old man. But I cried at the end like a little pussy fag. I can't believe such a show made me tear up. But it did. Clear eyes full heart can't lose!
Two things I found inaccurate. One: the QB was wearing ring at practice. No jewelry allowed! 2: soldiers patch was 1st Cav which is not in Oklahoma but fort hood. Besides that it's accurate.
I am from Puerto Rico and it seems I was the only one who watched the show here. However, this show stole my heart from the beginning and ,even though I still get teary-eyed when I think about this great ride being over, it had the best ending of any show I have ever seen. This show was about life and how within the grind, and even in it, we make we who are. When we tire, want to quit, feel sorry for ourselves and can't see the light just remember that clear eyes full hearts can't lose.
Thanks for posting this.....I was on the verge of tears when those lights went out in that final shot. This was a great finale. The only thing that could have made it better is if they found a way to bring back the "Smash" Williams character (Gaius Charles). Oh, well, can't have everything, I guess.
"CLEAR EYES, FULL HEARTS....Well we'll deal with that later." I honestly feel bad for people who did not watch this show. FNL changed the way I look at television... I'll never forget it!
@SpartanElite095 I think Luke went into the military because he knew he could not get a football scholarship at a D-1 school. It was originally his goal to get a football scholarship to get out of Dillon for good, but when he realized it wasn't going to happen (not to mention falling in love with Becky), his priorities changed.
@SuperCadet24 : I agree with you 100%. I feel the same way you do. I didn't even know that Mac was the new Pather coach. I do know that the actor who played JD McCoy decided not to return to the show to pursue his movie career. If he would have came back, I think that whole plot would have been different. And if that would have been the case, imagine the potential quaterback controvesy between JD and Vince for the "Superteam"!
People ask me what my favorite show is. i resopnd by saying "Friday Night Lights". They usually say they have never heard of it. Most people do not know about this show.which is why the show has had so much uncertainty every season. But im so glad that after everything we've been through there was a perfect conclusion. I feel bad for the people who do not know about this show, but feel blessed to be apart of the small audience who were touched by this show. Thank you FNL....Thank you.
what happened to J.D mccoy and Wade Aichman??? last i checked coach Taylor was fired because Wade took over....now hes not even the coach of the panthers anymore?
This was a great ending to an amazing series, but just imagine how incredibly emotional and great the ending would have been if they had gotten all the original characters like street, lyla, smash, etc. and incorporated them in to this last episode too.
@wmart1121 they only wanted to bring back characters that could have a story...smash move o to college....Lyla moved on after Tim and is in college...they showed street in the season he is married with his son....and tyra came back. everything was perfect
@SuperCadet24 Yeah i know, but it would've been cool if they would've shown how far everyone came from the first season and how there lives had ended up
@wmart1121 yea it would of........but when they showed the " J.Street" signature written under the panthers sign, its supposed to make you remember that his injury brought the original cast so much closer and realize that football in the town of Dillon...was more than just a game. Just by showing his signature makes you remember all of that, which is why this show is so great and so touching...to me it is at least. i get what your saying but Tim saying "Texas Forever" is enough wrap-up for me.
@cshizzle53 No because this wasn't about negativity, it was about new beginnings or carrying on with all of the positive aspects of each character's future. IMHO
perfect way to end everything with everone. everyone is happy and now they can just live......thank you writers and directors and producers....this is the best and most touching show ever
i have talked to some people and they dont like the ending. they dont like that coach left Texas, but what you have to remember is he is a coach and highschool coaches dont stay at the same school forever. it made the show realistic. And after 5 seasons of uncertainty about if there would be another season.......im so glad that after everything all the characters went through, they were able to have an ending that gave closure to all FNL fans.....thank you FNL....you will always be in my heart.
there isnt enough space to write how this show makes me feel. there is something in this show that everyone can relate to. i also loved the " J. Street" autograph under the panther sign. it makes you remember that he is the one who brought these characters closer. filming and music is awesome. chemistry is great. everything in place to make a perfect ending.
@ohiostmarine29203 yea i know. but i watched an interview with the director and he said that they only wanted to bring back characters that they could make a story out of. smash left on good terms with everyone so if they brought him back they couldnt of made it into anything.
This is the first time i ever cried for an end to a tv show. This will go down in history as the best show ever. Im so sad that its all over but am so happy about the way they ended everything....with matt and julie ending up together; tim and billy being brothers building a house and saying " Texas Forever" one last time; and of course the way that coach Taylor and Tami walking off the field in philadelphia and having the field lights go out. it sums it all up knowing that everyone is happy.
This was a great ending...especially the shot of the 'J.Street' signature. This made me want to re watch the first 3 seasons. Tim Riggins will always be in my heart haha
Glorious ending. I started watching this show when I was a sophomore in high school playing Texas football and now I just finished my junior year in college. I really loved this show because it always brought me back to those special moments in my life when I was fighting in the trenches with my brothers all for a common goal.
@KnightsSportsLeader Great example how good this show was, btw. Remember how we rooted for the Panthers? How it was so weird to see a new Dillon team at first? Man, they sure changed that feeling. ;)
Best series in TV history! I'm so sad that it's gone :( I'm really happy Matt and Julie are together in the end though, the proposal made the series for me :P
This series was incredible. The actors, the scenes, the story, all these things maked my life better. Thanks soo much FNL for all the moments,I never will forget this series.
this series as made me love american football and america more than ever! i am and singaporean! but this series is very heart warmin! matt saracen and julie taylor all the way, the next coach and principal saracen's! hope that they will have that one day when my kids r watching! LOL!
Series finales are never easy to make: it takes a good storyline that doesn't feel too different from the series, it takes a good music and most of all it has to make the viewers smile or even cry.
This one was perfect: there was the name of J. Street written on the wall (he started all this), there was the "Texas Forever" sentence said in the first season, there was one of the famous Coach Taylor's speeches, and of course the famous Panthers' motto.
@KnightsSportsLeader talking about the show or actual high school football? lol as far as in Texas alot of kids sadly do get held back a year just to have an "advantage" but once you hit high school level/college really does not matter, just during the middle school years
I was fine until I saw the J. Street under the Panther P then it all hit me how far the show had come and that this was the end. Then Tim building his house just made me realize a new episode wouldn't be coming on next week. I'll miss this show and it's amazing cast. Texas forever!
Next time you in Dillion, be sure to stop by buddy's... he'll set you up real nice. Maybe even recommend you to a fine auto repair shop at Riggin Rigs. Texas 4ever
I love friday night lights the part with becky and luke is a little sad I wish it was not over what will happen to luke and becky love I love season 4 and 5 I have not seen season 2,3
This show has been such a huge part of America. It kept us current, connected, feeling deeply and rebounding to constant challenges as we went through it with Friday Night Lights. Peter Berg is one incredible writer -- he spoke from the hearts of teenagers, athletes, black Americans, Texans, school teachers, parents, boyfriends, girl friends, connected friends. I will deeply miss this show, and I am very grateful to all who made it great.
the perfect ending for the best show I've ever seen, i watched the hole episode with a estupid look in my face and I almost faint when they change the scene when vince throw the pass to te endzone jaja, simply awesome...
i'm going to miss this show so much. coach and mrs taylor, matt, tinker, luke, vince, becky #44 tim riggins....the list goes on and on. goodbye friday night lights. you will be missed.
This series was amazing. I initially caught on in season 3. Then went back and watched the first two seasons before the 4th season came out. Then went full throttle in season 5. I love how far Vince has come as a young man. The dichotomy of Vince and his father and his coach, it was great to see how it all played out. Thankfully they went out on top, while all were together in East Dillon.
@tmasd2002 The piano bit that plays while the ball is airbound is called "Stokkseyri" by Jónsi and Alex (a.k.a. "Riceboy Sleeps"). Jónsi is also the singer and a guitarist in Sigur Rós. The track that starts up when they cut to Philadelphia is "Devil Knows You’re Dead" by Delta Spirit, from (I believe) San Diego.
whenever someone i know metions the "awesome" episode they saw from some "great" massive budget/top 5 network show that everyone watches, i just laugh at them and tell them not to talk about great shows until they have seen friday night lights.
Being European and soccer fan, I was not a Football fans...and i'm still not...I still think "football" is weird name for a game you play mostly with your hands and don't really like the time out between plays...but I think this has been ONE OF THE BEST show ever ...with great stories, great characters, great acting (some scene are just perfect), no cliché...
and you know what ? I happened to like the game...
To think we got 5 amazing seasons..I will forever be grateful to Direct TV for allowing FNL to go on longer than any season 1 fan ever expected...I feel sorry for the countless viewers out there who did not get to witness the magic ...It is truly one of the BEST show that I have seen in 20 years of television, until it graced our TV screen, I did not know that (or had lost hope of) shows like this could still exist. It is with a heavy heart that I bid adieu to such QUALITY TV!
the story, the actors, the setting, the town, the game, the music..... these and more made this show unforgettable... i feel a deep sense of melancholy now that FNL has ended. thank you for making one of the most heartfelt TV series of all time. not an easy thing to say, but, goodbye Friday Night Lights. thank you.
no words to express how i am feeling right now.
just watched the final episode and the experience will live on with me.
Texas Forever.

I still remember screaming WHAT? WHAT? When they cut it off while the ball was in the air. lol So intense. I felt like I was watching the Super Bowl.

How did someone dislike this? It was seriously the best ending to a series ever. Amazing show and I'm sad it's over. But what a great ending.

Truly one of the best shows ever made.
colerag 10 months ago
ps: seriously? transfer them back over to those west dillon snobs who call themselves the panthers? really?
KnightsSportsLeader 10 months ago
@KnightsSportsLeader Great example how good this show was, btw. Remember how we rooted for the Panthers? How it was so weird to see a new Dillon team at first? Man, they sure changed that feeling. ;)
Schrotteimer 10 months ago
@Schrotteimer yeah, tht fourth season showed us a dark side of the panthers...

Can someone tell me the name of the Artist and song they are playing? It just adds so much to the closing moments
tmasd2002 1 year ago
@tmasd2002 The piano bit that plays while the ball is airbound is called "Stokkseyri" by Jónsi and Alex (a.k.a. "Riceboy Sleeps"). Jónsi is also the singer and a guitarist in Sigur Rós. The track that starts up when they cut to Philadelphia is "Devil Knows You’re Dead" by Delta Spirit, from (I believe) San Diego.

It is with a heavy heart that I bid adieu to such QUALITY TV!

the story, the actors, the setting, the town, the game, the music..... these and more made this show unforgettable... i feel a deep sense of melancholy now that FNL has ended. thank you for making one of the most heartfelt TV series of all time. not an easy thing to say, but, goodbye Friday Night Lights. thank you.
