  • Ice Cool baby!! yeaH!

  • lol sry didnt saw the ice -_- nice :D

  • my Q6600 runn @ 3.816 GHz on AIR

    Arctic Freezer 7

    CPU and Cooler Lapped

  • you can go way higher than that mine is at 3.65GHz on air

  • Hahaha xD this ICE in the water hahha xD

  • why didn't you clocked your cpu even more? at least 3.6? I have mine at 3ghz with stock cooler.

PS: have the same monitor :)

  • this guy can run 4.2ghz with that cooling and stay at about 60F

  • mine at 3.38ghz with air cooling.

  • why not get freon instead or water with ice -.- i dont get these ppl....

  • omg super cooled =)) ice cooled. i like it but..kind of low frequency for water cooling wouldn't you say?

  • Hos Geldiniz ... LOL :P

  • What?

  • True this isnt a very fast clock for water cooling but is reliable and will bring OC at 3.4 back down to around stock heat so it may not be real fast but it is reliable im sure and that is good to. A 6600 can get 4.0 but not for long (in most cases).

  • Indeed its a CRAPPY OC for water....buddy has been pulling 4ghz with his on water...been stable and happy for 1 year now.

I can pull 3.0ghz with stock cooling and 3.6ghz with a 9700 Zalman.

  • lol i run my q6600 on 3.7ghz all the time with a zalman 9700 at 32 in the summer in malta

  • holy crap thats a good idea!

  • hi i dont get this how do you get a q6600 to 3ghz coz the shop that im bying my pc from it says 2.4ghz

  • lol stupic u overclock it to 3ghz

  • you really need ice water cooling @ 3.375 ? you couldnt clock it to an even 3.4 ? youll be fine with a zalman 9700, and if its still pushing higher than 65C under load then you may have the cpu voltage set higher than you actually need. lower voltage will get you lower temps. many people have reached around 3.7 on just air

  • Song Plzz

  • 3.375Ghz your kiding right?

when i was on stock cooling i got to 3.0Ghz,

on True 120 got to 3.6Ghz, on wc @4Ghz,

if thats really all your Q6600 can do with that setup i feel bad for u:(

  • ^^ thought the same... for waht the hell the guy uses a watercooling @3375?

  • hell u mit as well get phase cooling, just to run 3.5Ghz, or get some liquid N for 3.7Ghz;)

  • song is awful

  • mine's @ 3.6ghz with 1.385 volts with a zalman 9700 cpu cooler and it's stablw 24/7.

  • 3.4 ghz 1.375 volt stok fan ;))))

  • hehe my quad was 4.5Ghz on air cooling with 55 @ idle now on water and peltier cooling it is 4.7Ghz with 20 max temps when playing

  • lol u got 3.3 on that cooling u can get 4 ghz with air

  • Gotta love the Q6600,made for overclocking.:)

  • Temps???????????

  • Core Temps;

    Core0: 1

    Core1: 1

    Core2: 0

    Core3: -1

  • @AnacoNN impossible

  • q6600, g0 stepping: @4,0Ghz- 1,5v (stable)

    q6600, g0 stepping: @3,8Ghz- 1,35v (stable)

it's just DFI simple board and such results on air are easy to achieve.

  • should spend some money on a new monitor

  • Still deciding whether to go for a 9700 air for my q6600 overclock or a watercooling system.

  • Hehe, prety smart to use ice-bites!

  • my q6600 @ 3.3 rocksolid with zalman 9700

and @ 3.1 rocksolid with stock

  • I have Q6600, but when i clock it for 100 MHz it becomes unstable, i have Zalman CNPS7700 Cu cooler, i have P5N32-SLI premium mb

  • because u got a crappy cooler

  • half finished much?

  • People, please help me!!!!!!!

I have a Q6600 still in default 2.4 installed in a mobo FOXCONN X38A, that suports FSB 1333, with 4GB DDR2 and i just wanna to overclock my Q6600...

QUESTIONS: 1-) How much Vcore should I incrise if I put the processor to work @ 3.0GHz????? Thanks people...

  • Mine runs with 1.39V at 3.6GHz on X38.

  • Depends on cooling and chip but 1.35-1.40 should be plenty for 3.0-3.2ghz oc.

  • 1.45

  • ice cubes apskapskoakapokaokspakpaosk

    nice =D

  • XTREM wakü ...ich hab mit luft kühlung 3.6 xD naja lassen wa ma die träumer

  • nice, i <3 the ice cubes :P

  • ice cube :D

  • im thinking of getting the maximus formula for my new q6600, anyone know if the zalman 9700 is a good cooler and will fit on this board? ive heard others say that a part of it hits the northbridge or something

  • I'm using that exact combination. Maximus Formula + Q6600 G0 version + Zalman CNPS 9700 LED + Antec 900 case. I get 3.6GHz + 1600MHz FSB out of this - 100% stable. Absolutely I had no problems fitting the Zalman on this board. There is a special edition of the Maximus Formula motherboard with water cooling block. I can't say if that water cooling block would cause a problem. But if you want to use the CNPS 9700 you should use the standard air cooled version of Maximus Formula.

  • Extrem Wakü xDDDDD ^^

  • what motherboard should i buy the xfx 680i or thr evga 680i or the evga 780i to run with the q6600

  • how many graphic cards you gonna have? If one or SLi, get the 680i as they are becoming cheaper. But if you want 3-way SLi, get the 780i. either way, both mobo's can handle the q6600

  • what is the best motherboard to use with the q6600 im useing two evga 8800gts video cards and 8gs of ram and im useing windows vista 64bit thank you

  • You should be able to get MUCH higher than this on air, much less liquid cooling. Go get yourself some nice equipment and you will be able to go much further.

  • I got my q6600 at 3.4ghz with the zalman 9700....I got a video of it just look at my channel.:D

  • Yes, CNPS 9700 seems to be the best air cooler for Q6600 at the moment. I'm running my Q6600 G0 at 3.6GHz with this cooler 100% with no crashes.

  • i dont get why some people prefer having the motherboard like that, with the cables all arround and stuff. but a case for it and nicely fit it in there and avoid the mess.

  • My New Record

    Q6600 B3 Revision @ 4.2 GHz @ 1.7V

    Asus Commando P965

    Team Xtreem DDR2 800@1170MHz 4.4.4.10@ 2.3V

    ...

  • Did you try to run full load on it with something like Orthos x 2 (all 4 cores)?

  • Nice done, what about temps?

    P.M.: 1.7V is killing processor for 24/7

  • 3.4 on air baby!

  • nice water cooling system... how much its cost?

  • lol hahaha im at 4.0ghz OMG and im using a q6600 a p5k and a ultra 120 extreme

type "4.0GHz Overclocking by Core 2 Quad Q6600

and it will show u how to oc on a p5k

  • lol im at 3.8ghz watercooled G0's rule

  • buy a zalman cooler and get rid of the ice bucket

  • I have my at 3.2Ghz with the retail fan and heat sink. lol The Q6600 is amazing value for money.

  • If thats not a GO stepping then boo hoo i get 3.8 With watercooling.

  • 3,3 pretty poor overclock :/ u can easily get 3,6 with a zalman aircooler

  • sızdırmıyomu :D:D süper...

  • Yoo sızdırmıyor :)

  • xD ;)

  • i think u need some more ice buddy

  • I have q6600 at 3,8ghz me too but air cooling!XD

Its Scythe infinity air cooler and case Antec nine hundred. My maximum boot is 4,1 Ghz but unstable.

  • unlucky you, you didnt get the last G0 revision ^^'

  • zzz a simple overclock want to make this kind of extreme cooling?

  • Well, I just increased the CPU core voltage to 1.475V and the clock to 425MHz x 9.

That's 3.83GHz with air cooling (CPU temp at 57.5C right now).

I did all the CPU oriented SisSoftware Sandra tests and it seems to run reliably!

I'll try to verify it with Crysis, MS Flight simulator X and also run SiSoft Sandra burn in for some time.

  • Alright, my Q6600 G0 will occassionally crash at 3.8GHz with air cooling and standard voltage. But 3.6GHz is still amazing for a setup that in my case runs reliably and doesn't look like some science experiment.

But I should try 3.8GHz with higher core voltage and same air cooling...

  • My Q6600 is B3 Revision. So the o/c capasity is low but new my record is 1.7V core- 3.8GHz in normal water cooling

  • I hate to say it but my Q6600 runs at 3.6GHz with air cooling (CNPS 9700 LED) in the Antec 9000 case using Asus Maximus Formula motherboard. And no need for increasing any voltages.

Water cooling...no need with this CPU unless you got an old version or a poor performing one.

  • I'm interested in knowing why you didn't go past 3.375 with that good of cooling... q6600 is capable of going a lot further on good cooling, especially if it's g0.

  • I loved this song on Saving Silverman when Jack black and steven zahn pick up the hookers to frame Jason biggs...Other than that I hate it...

  • Rofl

As to the people who are on here fighting about computers, get a life seriously. Who cares if your computer is better then another persons, does that make you more of a man LOL.

  • well you must have a slight interest otherwise you wouldhave come and posted a comment

  • I think you have read the comment wrong, yes I do have a slight interest in computers seeing as I have videos of me building my own rig. Im referring to the people who watch these videos but then criticise the author because there computer is slightly weaker then theres. Its really sad that people must "flame" someone because they chose Intel/AMD. I hope this clears up my comment :)

  • fair comment, and well put. sadly its how YuoTube is sadly, i shocked not even half peeps on the section havent sworn or racially attacked somebody yet since that also seems to be a regular youtube thing

  • wtf that "music" frigen sux u actually listen to that crap?

  • and you actually use that agressive useless language in real life... damn your life must be sad

  • wow i used an abbreviation like it matters dude

  • actually your comment wasnt towards the video in question, it was more of a personal attack to the person that did the video , as by stating "u actually listen to that crap? " so it wasnt an abreviation as you say, and there is no reason for such comments on here or any site for that matter

  • lol its just that that crap pisses me off and thats what music has come to be these days

  • Q6600 is pretty easy to overclock though

  • cool.... do you actually fill that bucket with ice water every time you want to play crysis ... lol

  • If you need to cool the reservoir like that I suggest you learn to watercool. I got my core 2 duo to 3400mhz without any slight trouble at all. runs at 102F/38C idle 115F/46C load

  • friggin Noobs got my Quad @3,6 Ghz with Standard Watercooling below 45°C load! :D

    Looks like a Polish Method!

  • Watercooling and you could only get to 3.375? Thats pretty crap... I got to that on air

  • Im calling your bluff, show us.

thats if you cant actually do that.

i mean you are telling the truth arent you :)

  • WTF? He's telling the truth. 3.375 on air is easy. My E6600 is at 3.4 on air.

If you have good airflow and a good CPU fan then it is easy to achieve.

  • then show us. simple really unless you lot are all talk and no show. its the reason these guys of which we are havign the pleasure of viewing are showing us, becuase they have attempted somethign they likely havent done before and thought of showing us... So if you state you can do better why not show us your skills in the matter.

  • nichts besonderes, schnell ist er auch ned wirklich.

mein q6600 läuft mit 3.33 ghz mit einer normalen wasserkühlung bei 100% mit 65°C.

  • this is just sad!

  • i can not see how you think this is sad, its how the japs etc have produced such great technology and why they are way more infront that the uk or the states, this is showing how the pro's overclock and dont kill the poor little hardware inside.

  • Actually the "pros" as u say would be a lot neater and looks better.

  • i can gaurantee its more professional than most experinced computer users out there, and this does show to some extent how they do it

  • This is quite a good overclock for the Q6600. Me and a friend set his up outside and got to windows at 4.12 ghz but unfortunately didn't have a internet connection in the back garden to upload a CPU-Z result. It was 9 degrees out as-well!

  • q6600 is 4 small cpu cores EACH using 2.4 ghz, but really. this doesnt work that awesome. with my fan at 60% i keep my Q6600 at 2,9 to 3,0 GHZ (Zalman CNPS 9700 NT) idle temps around 38-40, stressed up to 81 though, but then i put it on 100% and its back to 76-ish, which is not too bad imho.

  • No, Q6600 has 8 cores =)

  • riiight, and why would it still be named Q -> QUAD then?

Also, no, it has no HyperThreading, so there even aren't any virtual cores.

It's just 4 pieces of core each running at 2,4 ghz.

  • lol, tz496, the Dual core has two cores, the Core 2 duo has two Dual Core processors built in (4 processors) and the Core 2 Quad is two core 2 duos built in one, 8 cores, look it up :P

  • hmmm, in the words of hamound from top gear "things you shouldn't say" and you just did it, you have just shown how much you know about this stuff

  • Are you Referring to me? The core 2 Quad does have 8 Cores, Jeez don't get mad just cause I do my research, I program in a few languages this is basic Knowledge man, Do you even understand Pipeline architectures and bus speeds and multi channel layers ?

  • NO, youtube mess up that was. I strongly believe that ever since they went from dual core to core 2 duo people have gained in confusion ever since, espcially when the quad core came out and hence the word QUAD people tend to relate that to just 4, but its also the archetiture within the cpu that is the brain.

  • lol ok, cause the Core 2 Quad does have 8 cores, I don't even know why peoplec all it "quad cores" when the Specific technical name is core 2 quad, a quad core would be a core 2 duo lol

  • I can't take you seriously with a name like that. ^^

  • I guess.. lol, read if ya don't believe me

  • is the q6600 4x 2.4ghz or is it just 4 chips making 2.4ghz

  • Icecubes :( wtf

  • Man People are geting way to overboard with cooling these days. If your looking to overclock it that much why don't you just get a core 2 Extreme processor that can handle it better. Wall what am I saying your just going to do the same thing. But to a larger extent....

  • its cheaper lol

  • Im sorry, all that expencive hardware and you cant even afford a good screen.... honestly.

  • CRT monitors are good u must know that they have better resolutions and more Hertz..

  • ou guys need ice water coolers or ure houses will burn down..is there Any way of not needing a water cooler and being able to close the casing???? noobish question i know.

  • i am running already 4.375

    dangerden tdx

    p5k deluxe

    1400 liter pump

    2 gig ddr 2 1333

  • I'm at 3.3Ghz (Q6600 G0) on stock cooling bro. You should be pushing 4Ghz on water.

  • is that a B3 stepping q6600 or a G0? what voltage are you running?

3.3GHz on ice water is a pretty disappointing result.

    i run daily @ 3.72GHz on a closed loop WC system @ 1.5v.

  • B3 Stepping.

    3375 MHz @ 1.6V :)

  • woosh those b3's take a bit of voltage to clock. props for being extreme and doing 1.6v.

i did 1.6v the day i got on water haha.

are you on xtreme systems or EOCF?

  • LOL Nice

  • my q6600 runs EXTREMELY stable at 3.6 ghz with TR U 120 XT cooler

  • Hmmmm?shouldnt he be at like 4.0ghz or something higher than 3.375ghz.I would be sending something back.

  • It should be on water cooling, I think there is something wrong with his setup.

    My specs: (AIR)

    q6600, b3 stepping: @3,2Ghz- 1,4v (stable)*

    q6600, g0 stepping: @3,5Ghz- 1,4v (stable)*

    *

    Cooling unit: Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme

    Fan unit: Scythe S-Flex @1600rpm

  • I have had my Qx6700 @ 3.8 1.5v On this cooler and ran stable Benched Super pI 1M 13.5s Ran 3d mark 06 13000 and AQuamark3 20750 And everest ultimate report no crashes. 75C Average while benchtesting. 49c idle This on a stepping B3 Chip ! And by the way it Booted Windows @4.0Ghz 1.6v But wasnt stable Because i didnt want to raise voltage anymore .Without ice water!

  • I cant Brag on the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme Enough. It is the best Air cooler I have ever used. I run my Qx6700 b3 Stepping Everyday @ 3.5ghz veryStable 1.4v 43c average idle, Full load at 70c.

  • 3375Mhz... hehe, je haalt makkelijk 3.2GHz met de originele luchtkoeler.

  • lol thats crazy having a bucket of water next to your desk

  • LOL! Ice-Cube watercooling XD

  • Hey dude what are ur temps?

  • 1-5C

  • Nice setup but i don't know if I will like the bucket of ice water next to my computer desk. Just hate to keep adding ice. :)

  • Actually the E6700 will perform a lot better in games that don't support multi-threading, but when it comes to encoding and multi-tasking the Q6600 owns. I don't know how well the E6700 overclocked take son the Q6600 overclocked though.

  • not "a lot" but a bit, everyone should go for the quad, definatly better overall.

  • ur better off running a waterchiller setup on it (like me) instead cause its like free ice cubes plus with that u should be able to do more than 3.3 most likely ur divider is done wrong and ur ram is running unstabily causing ur processor to not max out on the oc

  • What is better for gaming q6600 or e6700

  • Q6600 is better than E6700. Because 4 cores perform batter than 2 cores.

  • but it has lower ghz

  • But four cores. The Performance in new games is better than 2 cores.

  • How does it work with overcloking? is it dangerous to do that for a long time?

  • It's dangerous to use it with high MHz. Like 3600-3800 or higher MHz. If you use water cooling you can use it with 3600 MHz daily.

  • what if i have Vigor MonsoonTM II TEC Active CPU Cooling Air Conditioner System is that good enough? Do you have q6600?

  • Could you give me link of your cooler?

    I have Q6600

  • it wont let me link, type in moonson 2 in google

  • With your cooler, it works well with 3.0-3.2 GHz

  • is E6850 at 3.00GHz better then q6600?

  • is E6850 at 3.00GHz better then q6600?

  • no. Q6600 is better

  • so with my cooling system i can run it at 3.2 Ghz all day? WHat if ill get a stronger one? And how do i overclock it?

  • 8x450 MHz=3600 MHz ;)

  • Hey dude that is not true... for multithread applications a Q6600 is better but if you dont use applications that can run 4 cores at a time you should better buy yourself a E6850

  • incorrect the Q6600 is an excellent cpu to play games and do other stuff at the same time

  • Get your facts straight, most new games are supporting Quad/dual core CPU´s.

  • do u mind if we talk on aim or on WOW about this? If you have wow ill pay u in gold for advice ; )

  • The quad is slower at stock speeds (for now), but you can get it to 3,0Ghz with air cooling not prob at all. It's really worth! And don't worry It's not gonna break at 3,0Ghz, anyway.
