@jjdbest7 Wow, thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. Although I have to admit, this was my early attempts at HDR with photomatix. I have since figured a good way how to improve them by adding yet another layer of the original images on top in photoshop and the masking back in all the balanced sections like the edges between the sky and objects. Hope this gives you some tips. Good luck :)
HDR on iPhone 4 corrects the quality of the image. Other than that, ie using a DSLR, some people like it, while I clearly don't. To me the result is like some cheap, ugly software post processing effect. But hey...
At first I saw that beach shot and thought ok, then wow, very nicely done. I don't think your images are over processed I think they look great, this is what hdr is all about, sure you can use it to paint a perfect histogram but getting arty is where it's at, so well done very nice work..... You really should try photoshop again, it is fantastic software. Good job. flickr.com mark harper photography

when I first started with DSLR I was crazy about HDR photography. over times, I like natural photography and believe that's best. HDR creates artifacts and halo around objects.
But yes, only controlled HDR effect for landscape sometimes works for me
@EROJNKLSD Hi, thanks for your critical feedback and much appreciated. These images were experimental as I only had discovered HDR software and its capabilities. Although I have improved somewhat since and if you has a moment to take a look at my website I would like your feedback on the work there. Please visit freezeframephotos.co.uk You can leave feedback here. Many thanks
All of the information about HDR Photography, provided on the internet, has been intended to assist and teach "Photographers" how to do this process. While it's easy to teach the shooting aspect, it's both time consuming and expensive to learn how to do the "proper" post-processing. If you look up Pro Photo Results / HDR Photography on YouTube, you will finally be able to get the finished post-processing done for you! You do not need to be a professional Photographer to accomplish this.

I too have a Nikon D5000 and really like it. However it doesn't seem to do well inside. But my question is: can i use this software on my JPEG photos or do i have to shot RAW. I don't have time or the knowledge to use photoshop on all my photos if i use RAW. Thank you. Good video
@photobugkat What lens do you use indoors? I only have a Sigma 18-200mm and I recently borrowed my friends Nikon 18-55mm DX VR. Although this is a very cheap lens considering the prices of lenses it is however very sharp. I just bought a Nissin Di622 Mark 2 flash gun for indoors to bounce light off the ceiling. Setting the camera to ISO 250 and shutter speed to 1/40 of a second with a VR lens you still get sharp images. Oh and yes JPEG is fine but they say Raw works better. All mine are JPEG
@photobugkat I will be uploading some more stuff soon to demonstrate the flash and settings for indoor use. The flash works well. Keep an eye out for this post. Subscribe so that you dont miss it. I will also be posting some other things to help with this camera. Thanks for your interest and question. Good luck
@rafay40 Hi sorry for the late response, you probably have the answer by now. As far as I am aware, High Dynamic Range Tone Mapping is used to extract balanced tonal values in an image. This is the reason for taking 3 identical photos at different exposures to cover a wider variety of tones. Using specialist software will look for the balance of tones.
hello there !! i have a nikon d5000 camara but i don't know how to used it ,can you please explain to me how can i take HDR photos !!?? where can i found that option in my camara ??? ohh please help me !! DX)
when you take the original photos, do you change the ISO or the Exposure? i have been trying to get the hang of this but im not getting accurate results.
@Quagmire88 always keeps your ISO at around 200 in your menu settings. I rarely ever change the ISO. Always keep your F. number the same when taking the 3 shots also. I had mine on F.7 for outdoor landscapes but this depends on what lens you use for good exposure and depth of field. Only change your shutter speed. Do all this in Manual settings. Hope this helps. You should be attempting to get a balanced photo, 1 underexposed and 1 overexposed
good job man

I think you need to strive to make these looks more realistic - your compositional selections are fine, it's just over processed.

My only gripe is that hdr and portraits don't mix in my opinion but if you love it keep on doing it :D.
