  • @MsStellbell I don't think it's possible to homeschool in the Sims. At least not in the Sims 2. :/ The scenes in the video are actually of them doing their homework, I believe.

  • im a homeschool girl!lol

  • I'm a homeschooled girl and a grade ahead ;-)

  • I'm a homeschooled guy. And this song is great!

  • @Zcott1 really? I'm was a homeschool girl

  • As a former homeschool girl, that's hilarious! Nice job.

  • yeah i cant believe i found this song i owned this cd like 10 years ago such good memories

  • Just passing around and saw this site, it looks really nice, I homeschool my daughter and my boys are in public school.

  • This video makes me want to keep my kids home from public school. lol

  • LimePurple, if you like sims, you may try this new game, quite similar to sims, but .... well, you better check it, hehe

    floprk. com/download

  • so can u and do u know how to become home schooled on the sims 2?Or u cant and u just made it look like that for the vid.?

  • Does anybody know where to get the Chords or tabs for this song!?!?!?!?!?

  • THIS IS THE MOST AWESOME VIDEO EVER!!!!

<3 it, LimePurple! I'm a homeschooled girl. Yay for homeschooling!!

  • Go all you Homeschool girls!!!! U ROCK

  • oooommgggg! some people have wayyy toooo much time on there hands. :)

  • why are we talking about evolution?

  • who sings that song? Its totaally cool

  • I'm sorry, someone else also just asked this question and I accidentally removed the comment instead of replying to it...

Anyway, it's "Homeschool Girl" by Bunch of Believers (B.O.B.) off the cd "It's a Ska Ska Ska Ska World."

  • @DartmouthProductions I have the whole cd on my channel, if you wanna hear the rest of it, it's pretty cool. I like this "music video", btw lime!

  • ...Oh... I'm sorry to debate, but evolution is proven fact... organisms developing resistance, different skin colors, hell... the rich biodiversity contained within this thin troposphere... it's all evidence of adaptation / evolution.

Everything that we see living today is not what we evolved from.. it might have not needed to adapt much because it's model was efficient, but it's not a perfect copy.

An understanding of evolution is crucial to the complete comprehension of today's scientific

  • knowledge..hahaha, you can totally tell I'm homeschooled, I have way too much time :P

  • I must point out that evolution is by no means whatsoever proven. Science simply cannot prove anything; it can only disprove. The best we can get is theories. To be able to get close to proving something scientifically, you must be able to observe and repeat. Evolution can be neither observed on a reasonable timescale nor repeated in a lab.

  • I do believe in microevolution of course; variations of skin color, subtly different bird species, the like. This is fact. However, there are too many holes in macroevolution (species evolving from totally different kinds) for me to put my trust in it.

I don't think it's ridiculous to believe that there is a God, a higher power than us.

Thank you for your politeness. : ) I don't wish to start a long debate, but only point out that evolution is a theory, but not fact.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Macroevolution is simply a bunch of microevolutions over a very large period of time. Oh and, Gravity is a "theory" as well. A theory has to be proen before considered such. It must be published in journals and reviwed. If none of this happens it is merely a "hypothesis".

  • There is a big difference between the two--microevolution is a change in genetic information already there--growing bigger, different colored fur, etc. Creatures do not grow legs or have scales turn into feathers as is supposed in macroevolution.

  • Theories are not proven. Science can disprove, but it cannot prove. Granted, it can indicate that something is likely. While gravity is quite easy to demonstrate, evolution is not. There is plenty of room for doubt and as such, I won't accept it as supreme truth.

  • I'm a homeschooler. ... an unschooler really. I'm a lover of science and this wonderful universe we live in... no, I haven't been in my home my whole life.. I can actually go out on school days, we take field trips all the time. Learning is automatic in a child. Why must we continue to force-feed people textbook crap education? Given, it does work for some.

16, I'm an atheist, I have many friends, I've already found the love of my life (she was under my nose since 13), and I'm optimistic about

  • Ah, by the way, check out my park-day videos if you're a homeschooler :)

the future of this world, I hope that most will accept others and let them follow through with their beliefs as long as they don't harm others with those beliefs.

May your journeys through life be happy, partake in what makes you thrive.

  • I do agree that too many children can have their natural intellect dulled by the public school scene. There are too many kids who learn faster than others, or want to learn more. Homeschooling is great for these kind of kids!

  • Great vid!! Thanks for sharing!

  • What about UNschooling.

Thats what my kids are gonna do!

Be apart of the revolution in education! Check out "The New American Schoolhouse"

I'm so exited by it all!

  • Are you kidding? There's a million benefits to home schooling.

I went back to public school in 7th grade and I'm so glad that I was mostly raised as a home schooler. There are so many bad experiences that other kids went through that I'm glad I missed out on.

  • YEAH!!!!!!!! lol i love this song... i am homeschooled and i love it... i think its alot better than public school... lol but thats just me, lol

  • Thanks! :D

Yeah, my favorite was being able to sleep in...lol

But I think I'm a lot closer to my family that I would have been if I'd gone to public school, and family ties are severly underappreciated these days in my opinion. So I thought it was a good experience!

  • yeah i have to say i am alot closer to my family... then i would be... lol well i love the song.. lol =P

  • what is up with christian ska bands?

  • Love it! I went to public school all my life and then got a teaching degree. To be honest, it wasn't until I tried life on the other side of the desk that I saw why public schools have intrinsic flaws. Teachers are so busy trying to manage too many ill-raised children that they just don't have the energy to teach properly, or stop dangerous behaviors. I decided to give up on teaching until I have kids and homeschool them! If I don't ever want to be under someone's thumb, why would a young child?

  • Yes, there are pluses and minuses to both public and home school, but the way people are these days, I wouldn't trust anyone but myself to teach my own kids.

I considered going into teaching, but I decided I didn't want to deal with so many kids who don't want to listen.

So now I'm working on my accounting bachelor, but my secret dream is to move to Japan and tutor English for small groups!

  • Thats sooo much fun! A friend of mine and I spent a summer teaching English in Korea. FUN, but also immensely tiring- so busy.

However, you have the assurance that the students WANT to listen, when the class is adults.

  • I homeschool my daughter, she is an awesome girl!

    I love this video!!!!

  • AMEN!! lol this rules

  • I love this video! I am homeschooled too and I love it.

    KB

  • This Vid Is Great !

Both My Little Brother And I Get Home Educated !

    5 Stars ***** !!

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Amy and Rory

  • I homeschool my daughters and, yeah, the rock! Great video!

  • Awesome!

  • is it possible to homeschool sims??

  • No, I just made it look that way. :)

  • ohhhh

  • Actually it is possible, I think anyway, message me if you want the site,I'm still pending to see if I can register. Anyway it says it's a home school hack.

  • Wow really? That's cool.

    Of course now I work 60 hours a week so I can't play Sims..lol oh well. :D

  • Great Work on a Great Song! :)

  • That was so cool! Where can I get this song?!!?

  • This song is by Bunch of Believers, on the cd Ska Ska Ska Ska World. You can probably get it off itunes, or the cd on ebay.

  • I am homeschooled and I love the Sims 2! Great Video!

  • Fabulous!

  • hey, great video!!

  • I have three homeschool girls at home! Thanks for the cool video!

  • from a former homeschool girl, I'd like to say thanks and great video!

  • @PinkFlamingoLady ditto!

  • Very good job LimePurple.

Yeah homeschooled girls are the best.

  • Great video!! I homeschool my little boy right now and he is so smart that I am amazed. I never knew the advantages of this if the parent is committed. (I was publicly educated through high school and went to a Christian college.) But I am sold on it after seeing how one on one education is the way to go. Congrats!!

  • Great video!

  • This is an awesome vid! So creative! I LOVE IT

  • " I go to college, I work in a cafeteria, I tutor, and I work in a middle school office."

Why do you support government schools while glorifying so-called "Homeschool"? James 1:8

  • 1. It's kind of hard to homeschool through college. 2. There are Christian colleges, like the one whose cafeteria I work in. 3. I peer tutor to help out fellow students. 4. I'm going to homeschool my own kids. I don't see how working in a public school is any worse than working for any other secular company. I support homeschooling but that doesn't mean I'm going to completely shun all public education all the time. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that.

  • Maybe you should change those lyrics that mention her not dressing like the others. Her pants and shirt are plenty tight and fit right in with the rest. Sims program has no modest dresses to choose?

  • For teenage sims the only dresses are shorter than kneelength and all the shirts are skin tight. Most of them show belly too. But since it's only a collection of pixels I don't think it matters that much.

  • Hey!

I love this video!!! Homeschooling is awesome, it has given me the oppertunity to attend college as a dual-enrollment and I will get my AA degree this spring and i will be 17. I also have tons of friends, so, what people think of us homeschoolers as unsocialzed is so untrue!!!

    Walelu

  • That's your opinion.

If all the homeschoolers you met were socially challenged then you must not have met many.

  • I'm home schooled and I get along great with people, I have a lot of friends, from Elementary school.

  • I am homeschooled and i ROCKS!

  • AWESOME! This is so funny! Considering I'm homeschooled I love this!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this video! My girls are a little young for it yet. Sure wish we could save files from YouTube so I could share it with them when they ARE old enough. (Will it still be on YouTube then?)

  • I'm not planning on taking it off... I want to remake it sometime though.

  • Great video...I will be sharing this with all of our homeschool girls!!!

  • You rock! Nice work...I have both BOB albulms as well!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • People do come from monkeys, sorry... I can think of lots of reasons to home school but religious lies like creationism shouldn't be one.

  • Yes, that's right. Creationists are ignorants who refuse to embrace progress and comprehend science, and want to keep people in the stone age. No. I've seen both sides of the argument in depth, and you'd be amazed by the amount of flaws in the evolution theory. I can't believe such garbage. Why is it so ridiculous to believe that there is a god? I refuse to accept that we came from monkeys.

  • Evolution doesn't claim that we come from monkeys. ;)

  • It does claim that we came from ape-like creatures.

  • But they are not monkeys. Monkeys and apes are pretty different. And I can't take what some says about evolution seriously if they don't know this.

  • @JenJuvenile

They used the word monkeys because it rhymed... not because they're trying to make this whole song into a scientific debate.

  • Maybe you came from Monkeys. However I believe in an almighty God creator of everything. If we really came from Monkeys why can the scientist not explain the platipus or other liveing creatures, yes they have a good guess, but that is what it is a guess.

  • That = win. As a homeschooler, the thumbs down on this comment really show me a lot of people homeschool to bring their children up as some sort of staunch believers, hiding them from scientific theories.

  • no, most of the scientific THEORIES out there are SOOOOO lame that there's little point in teaching them

  • I better work harder I'm a homeschooled girl but I'm only two grades ahead =D

  • Pretty funny! Thanks for this video... :D Homeschooled girls rock! (I am one!) All that stuff is so true. Three grades ahead, up on everything... Yup! Thats usually every homeschool girl.

  • Great! How'd you do it? I love it, and posted it on my blog today...

  • hahahaha, that is amazing! Both the song and the Sims animation to it! I was never homeschooled, but from hearing my friend who is talk, it's amazing! You go homeschooled girls!!!

  • LOL! Considering I'm homeschooled I love this!

  • lol this is all homeschoolers lol

  • Love it!

  • We homeschool our girls, because the environment in the average public school is often toxic. This song hits it right on the money, especially the part about "three years ahead." My girls aren't quite that far ahead yet, but will be soon. Homeschooling is the only way to go.

  • im homeschooled, its awesome

  • Lol, I love it! Homeschoolers rock!

  • hahah this is too cute :)

  • Cute video, though I have to say I don't know how I would have learned AP science without a lab. Or Chaucer from parents who rarely venture beyond Stephen King novels. ;-)

Nothing in life is perfect, eh?

  • that's why i'm so excited to get out of homeschool for highschool! lol there's only so much you can learn in your house... i need bunsen burners!! chemicals!! things that go boom!

  • Thats why I'm sending my kids to community college a couple a days a week. In Australia, you can take courses at TAFE once you turn 15. My kids will gte the best home education, plus viable qualifications (certificate 11 and 111 in whatever they want) as well as the "school atmosphere".

Fortunately for me, I'm a sciencey person, and I have a home-lab for the heck of it.

  • Well, all public schoolers aren't that bad (and I was in public school for 8 years), but it can be a rough place with lots of scary people. I've got to say that, in my experience, homeschoolers have a much safer and friendler atmosphere.

  • Definetly.

  • It's not so much that the video maker is trying to make public school kids look bad, but they're just trying to make a nice contrast between the two. But c'mon, seriously, have you ever heard of major bullying problems when people homeschool?

  • This is amazing! I'm homeschooled, and it definetly makes alot of sense- especially the 'three grades ahead' bit!

  • I love this vid! I'm homeschooled, so I totally get it, haha.

  • I homeschool my girls too and they love it. Their friends who go to public and private always tell her they wish they could be homeschooled also because the other kids pick on them, so the video is not to off base. It's nice to know homeschooling is an option. Great song.

  • AWESOME LYRICS! Three grades ahead is right!

  • This is great. As a homeschool mom I love it.

  • I love this video! I homeschool too! what a great thing.

how did you do it? my daughter would love to do some too... and who is singing.. great voice and song!

  • I like it! Who is singing the song?

    Jennifer

  • It's Bunch of Believers, a Christian ska band. They have 2 cds. :)
