The Raven Story

This is my great aunty telling the story; her brother, my grandfather, told me that story when I was a child. It's still one of my favorite stories. I use part of it in giving an introduction to Tlingit culture in introductory anthropology courses (I'm a grad student in anthropology). I'm glad to see it shared here, although I'm of two minds about the presentation itself. It is what it is.

Thank you so much for posting this. This is my favorite Native American legend, the story of how Raven brought light to the world. We all have Raven inside us, each of our spirits has a unique bit of light to share with the world, and each ray of light is precious because everyone is an individual—no two beams of light are the same.
