  • definitely not 135 lbs bodyweight. Its definitely impressive for your size, but you aren't 135 lol. Id say more like 155-160 lbs.

  • @mlbirdinground Sounds stupid, i know. My gym has been doing that crap since the first contest I entered like two years ago. The guy that cordinates our bench comps weighs every single item including the exact bar weight into our bench total. he weighs the clips the straps, anything you press is added. When I tell average joes about my max I just say 335, but here i am more exact because some people are too. Just imagine it says 335 =) For fun though, weigh your bar and see its exact weight.

  • @mlbirdinground you really have to weigh it all seperately. One of my bars is like three pounds lighter than the others. Clips vairy too because of the types, wether its coil or strap, or something else. i used a digital scale that was certified earlier in the year by the NCIF wrestling commitee. Some guy goes around and calibrates our scales for wrestling each year. Weigh your stuff and see for yourself. make sure you use an acurate scale though.

  • You look a lot heavier than 135, but one tip I could give to you is to not bounce your feet up and down before you start. I know it might help you get amped up but you need to set your base and not move around if you want a good lift.

    hey bro too tell you the truth at the time i only worked out my chest by benching and did triceps only. the back yard was the only gym i had. i never worked out my back or my legs at all. thats way i didn't weight as much AS I SHOULD OF lol i also did a lil bit of biceps too lol

  • When you bench press a lot of weight in 1 rep, you aren't making your aren't tearing your muscles and stretching them enough for them to grow you are just giving a lot of blood flow (which is only some of the result of big time weight lifting).

  • actually, if you have read anything about weight lifting, it says for a proven fact that if you max out every 2 or 3 weeks its a very good thing because it shocks your muscles and its designed to get your body used to the weight.

  • Sorry, no. This is how you get hurt. Bar until your arms are parallel to the bar and elbows are at a right angle. If your chest is large enough, you will hit it when in this position. Either way, you should never have your arms/elbows extend beyond the right angle/parallel position. Doing so will result in injury.

  • going from 90 to ur chest is the part of the motion that most stretches the chest its best to go down to your chest so you stretch out the chest more i go all the way down and always have and have never gotten hurt

  • Great job. You remind me of myself at your age. I weighed hardly nothing but was lifting in the mid 200's. Keep up the good work. Just train smart, don't max out to much. 1 rep max strength is actually built better and safer in the 3-6 rep range. I ended up learning that the hard way.
