Because war is hell, the voices of all those impacted by it must be recognized. This is an essential function of media that strengthens our democratic way of life.
You gotta admit that Obama's speech was the most propaganda filled speech ever... he was wishing them happy new years, why did he even have to mention all the bad blood? Do you tell your mother "happy birthday, I hope that we can get over the time I did this to you, and you acted this way, and Im glad you are now acting better towards me, and Ill try to do the same to you" etc. etc.
Its improper to bring up the bad blood in a well wishing statement. It was of course going to get that response?
