Lastly, if you are a student there now just realize colleges have been this way with money. It should be allocated effeciently and it is, but sports and nice facilities are used to draw students. BG did put money into the Wolfe center for the arts too. Unfortunately as crazy obsessed as Americans are with organized sports money for arenas and venues will always be requested. Many cities use new sports facilities as a draw. Americans are addicted to organized sports.
Thirdly, BG has had excellent mens and womens basketball teams. The mens team just won the MAC regular season in 2009. And in 2000 and 1997 most recently. Go read the media guides and there is a youtube video on Anderson arena that is a good highlight of mens and womens basketball and womens volleyball. mens and womens bb teams combined have 21 MAC regular season championships just to give some idea.
BG has always done everything right. Great balance between all that a university has to offer. Secondly, BG has always been well-known for multiple reasons. From superstar athletes to oscar winning actors, BG is a gem amongst gem. Campus is gorgeous. In the 90's the nightlife was the best. And believe me, I have older siblings who attended other Ohio schools. Their nightlife couldn't compare, especially back then to BG.
First, this video is awesome. Great mix of the theme, showing who "helped" contribute to it's existence. As an alumni I understand students having to pay more for sports venues. College should be more about academics and affordable housing. BG has always been dedicated to academics first.

The whole thing was a huge waste of money, money that carol cartwright took to the bank, as a member of the KEY BANK board. What was really needed was new ACADEMIC facilities, and instead what we got was this, as well as housing more expensive than paying for a mortgage on a 2bedroom flat. After everything was all built, she assigned all of the property to her 501c3, and paid out a cool million to her and her cronies. BGSU where fraud and ineptitude prevail, and students are shit on constantly.
A group of friends and I have written and recorded a song for the university we go to, but don't know how to make a quality video like this, Teach Me How To Bucky, or I Love My Ducks.. does anyone know the process to making a good video like this? Did cinematography majors, a professional company, or @bgsu film and/or fund the video?
As someone who helps create organization videos and promo reels ... WOW is all I have to say. Fantastic work. Everyone associated with this piece should be very proud of their work.

Had just turned on the TV here in the ATL right in the middle of the video being played on ESPN. Awesome!. I work for a company called STATS and kept the stats for the Bowling Green/Georgia bb game this past Sunday. I've seen more Bowling Green sports in the last few days then I've seen in my whole lifetime.
Im really sick of everybody hating on a kid following his dreams, and the university obviously picked him to do it for a reason. Stop the hate. too many criticts not enough fans...DO YA THANG SCO.!
Great idea for a fun thank you video, but once again a major institution offers up a delightfully veiled portrayal of systemic disparities between race and class. Take away message: Thank you wrinkly ol' white guys for making a dump truck of cash with your white privilege in society. Catchy tune though.
@simmardownnow Way to look for something that was never there. You have obviously never been to Bowling Green or met any of the benefactors mentioned in this video. Take your class warfare somewhere else.
It's odd to see the guy that always came into my room last year on ESPN. As silly as this is, they did a great job and I'm glad they included everyone they did, students and philanthropists alike.
Actually, this is a hell of a good job by these guys. And very cool that the donor's went all in to participate. This is how kids pay tribute now-a-days, and these kids did it with an outstanding effort. (should have went with "Chuck Taylor's" instead of "Charles Taylor's".

@CuriousTJones Oh, why my apologies, I was under the impression that an entirely brand new building was better than putting new carpeting and wallpaper into an old crappy one. :)

@TCiLLnEsS First of all, I'd like to thank you for actually staying civil while disagreeing with me. That's uncommon on YouTube, in my experience.
But, to answer what you've said, I don't think that they needed more acknowledgement when their names are plastered ALL OVER the facility, and especially not acknowledgement that primarily glamorizes being filthy-frakking rich (not a virtue!). Their philanthropy is good, and it's good for their faces to be recognized, too... but there are better ways.
@LiberalAven As for your second argument, there are kind of two things to touch upon. The students who fund it only had a small increase in tuition to help cover the funding. No big deal really. Most people know this and that is why it isn’t explicitly explained. That part of the funding is already understood. Besides, it’s not like individual students contributed 1m+ in dollar value directly to the Stroh center. That is the point of the video. The generosity of those few people.
@TCiLLnEsS I really wish YouTube allowed longer comments, so that I didn't have to give multiple replies....
Many students know they're paying an extra fee for it, but few know just how much it adds-up to over the years (22+ mil). Most new students also don't know that USG (following private request from BGSU's Admin) refused to put the fee approval measure to a referendum vote when lots of students (like me) asked for one.
Also, you can showcase generosity without glamorizing being filthy rich!
@wpucket I don't tend to blindly follow orders from random jerks over the internet. If you can't make a counter-argument, then I consider your words irrelevant. At least TCiLLnEsS had the wherewithal to formulate a rebuttal. So, why don't you showcase that college education that BGSU has given (or is giving) you?
Like it or not philanthropy will always be a major part of college athletics. Besides don't discredit the ppl who put this video together, awesome job by all who were involved!
Great job radio rosco
