@imissthe80s100 I know they didn't play it in Amsterdam, as I say they played it only ONE time in 1994. About the other one, you have to ask mr. Gilmour, not me!
Hey thanks for sharing this its one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs. I concur with other posters that its a shame that this song didn't make either version of the Pulse release (CD, Laser Disc). The "Pulse" CD had "Astronomy Domine" while the Laser Disc had "Take it Back", Go figure. Oh well cest lavie!
hey faker, how 'bout you find a legal version and not worry about the download. guess it doesn't really matter. if you consider yourself a PF fan, as you put it. why would you steal from us, oh yeah, sorry, them?
This CERTAINLY IS David Gilmour singing on THIS cut. I'm not sure of the Rose Bowl show, but it is NOT listed on the official playlist. I DO NOT think that this particular recording was done at EITHER show. Having listened to literally thousands of live recordings, and having seen dozens and dozens of live shows from Van Halen to Rascal Flats. This show seems to be fairly impromptu and 'stripped in Pink Floyd standards. The Vancouver and Rose Bowl shows were NEITHER !!!!!!!
One Slip was only played once on the Division Bell tour. Oakland CA, April 22, 1994. I am from the Bay Area and I was there for all 3 PF shows in Oakland back in 1994. Too bad it was not included as a regular in the set list as t it is one of Dave's best songs.
EddieinvisibleMan, you are mistaken. They played this at the Rose Bowl and in Vancouver on the Pulse Tour. 100% certain on this. I was at both shows, 7th row front and center at the Rose Bowl. They didn't, however, include it in the live Pulse CD, which I don't understand. Gilmour did sing for all those kooks that think it's not him. They also performed this cut at the London show when they shot the Pulse video. So 3 of 3 Pulse performances I have seen included this cut.
@desertized I really appreciate the comment, and thanks. :) But I do have all the London shows (yes, ALL days :P ), and there isn't a version of the song. One bootleg (from the 28th or 29th October I think) does lists it in the tracks in the artwork, but it's a mistake, cos the song isn't there..
For the Vancouver shows, do you remember the date? I'd love to check it out and correct the description if I find it :)
@EddieInvisibleMan Do you have the video of the DIvision Bell Tour titled "Pulse"? They shot it in London at the end of the tour and they most definitely play the song. It's in the video.
So Is this copy of One Slip from the Pasadena show then? The Rose Bowl show I saw was April 17th, 1994 and the Vancouver shows were on the 25th and 26th of June, 1994. I think I saw the one on the 26th.
You know what, I'm an idiot. I'm thinking of "Take it Back", which they didn't include in the Live CD but did have it in the video they shot at Earls Court Oct 20, 1994. Love that song. I was mixing it up with One Slip, but I know they played One Slip at the Rose Bowl. 100%. My previous comments has Take it Back in mind so sorry for the confusion. I still can't figure out why they left out Take It Back on the Pulse CD. Odd.
@desertized I did find these 2 Vancouver dates: pf-db.com/index.php?concert_id=1208&bootleg_id=2239 and pf-db.com/index.php?concert_id=1010&bootleg_id=1623 but I don't see the song played at either night. Thanks a lot for the comment again :)
@EddieInvisibleMan you tube sucks for sharing links and urls ,it doesnt work ,but it never does, please pm me if you get this id love to see/ hear that !!
i have to laugh. thinking this is not gilmour. after listening to scores of bootlegs, you can tell the difference between gilmour in a studio and gilmour on stage. of course this is gilmour, it's exactly how he sounded during the 1994 tour. remember this recording is a bootleg, recorded by someone in the audience on a microphone. bootlegs are only high quality when the sound is recorded straight off the mixing desk. thanks for the vid, i didn't realise they'd performed this on this tour!
@cheminwey you're a fucking moron, you're not allowed to call yourself a pink floyd / gilmour fan... let me guess, you've never seen him live have you?
@dustinkirk I'm taliking about the picture. That is NOT PF. Who the hell are you to allow me to call myself a fan?? And I did see them live in 94. According to you anyone who has not , has no right to be a fan??
I think the device that recorded might have somthing to with the his voice, like its def. not enhanced at all. and if you dont think it sounds like him, search up any live video of about face or somthing and you'll see.
@mahajohn Just get the bootleg, okay? It's really tiring having to answer the same thing everytime, just because "this doesn't sound like Gilmour"..
If you don't believe it's him, download the freaking thing first, and if it's not the same version, THEN come to post it here. Not the other way round.
Thanks and sorry it's you that's getting the negative reply but it's really tiring seeing the same things again and again.
IT AMAZES ME HOW STUPID PEOPLE ARE AND THE CRAP THEY POST. THIS NOT PINK FLOYD PROPER, IT'S THE AUSTRALIAN PINK FLOYD, THEIR BASSIST SOUNDS LIKE GILMOUR. THE PHOTO IS FROM THEIR TOUR AS WELL. AS FOR ONLY PLAYING THIS ONCE ON THE 94 TOUR, I WAS ON THE 94 TOUR I'M A 20 YEAR LASER VETERAN AND THIS SONG WAS PLAYED ALMOST EVERY NIGHT.
THESE MORONS POST "RARE" AFTER SOMETHING AND THINK IT'S SPECIAL, NOT
It's very simple - listen to this / back-to-back with 'One Slip' live from Omni Atlanta. Not their lights & plus the instruments/mix are majorly simplified. Clearly not Gilmore and the gang. Overall sound's from a much smaller room than PF plays. I've seen them 4 tours live, t'ain't PF.
Definitely has the sound and feel of the '94 shows. The '87-'89 tour had an energy and feeling of incredible optimism that they didn't manage to re-produce in the '94 tour. Gilmour has said the MLOR tour was "crash-bangy", but I prefer the over-all excitement of those shows.
This was ONLY performed ONCE, during the second night at the Oakland Coliseum in 1994. This is the real deal (the audio). Listen to the percussion during the intro, very different than in 1987-89.
seening them in 1994 in mile high stadium in colorado, what an awesome show that was, today, I don't think they can top themselves with that kind of proformance.
If you dont think this is Sir David Gilmour then i suggest you listen to their full albums and also this the Pulse gig not the Delicate Sounds gig 1 of the 1st in fact we are not worthy
bigneil8888: Actually, it is. I've heard this entire boot before (although I don't have it anymore). I know there's a video version of it too. The video of the '94 performance of this song used to be on YouTube but I can't seem to find it now.
I'm an entertainment professional and went to both the DSOT and Pulse shows here in Minneapolis. This is NOT the set. First off the center screen is too small. There aren't enough VL-5's around it. The outer lights are modern and not the original Varilites that Marc Brickman used for either tour. The patterned background was never used, nor easily achievable at that time. The voice is not Gilmour's. This leads me to concur that it's the Australian PF Experience.
There used to a VIDEO of this on youtube a few months ago AND Lost for Words but they both seem to be missing now! If anybody has any idea where to find them please let me know!!!!
