a winch definitely would have been nice. as for the sleeping area, the two benches folded down to form a giant bed - worked quite well. we spent over 300 nights sleeping in that truck the year we travelled Australia!
Ah. Ok. It's too bad you couldn't import the truck to Canada. Oh well. I would think that the BJ Land Cruiser would have a Diesel engine under the hood. Apparently this one had a gasoline engine, eh?
I live in Canada, but travelled Australia for 1 year. This was the truck we used to travel and live in for that year (2002-2003). So no, we no longer have it - had to sell it when we came back to Canada :(
It was a 4 speed - as for how many miles/kms it had I can't remember off the top of my head... I probably have a picture of the odometer somewhere... I'll try to find it and let you know.
Awesome car mate. Thats exactly what you need to see Australia in. How much was it?

@drummerwithatrike we paid $3000 AUD for it. Bought new tires and fixed the head gasket - other than that, it worked like a champ the whole trip!

that is a really cool truck.

Be good if it had a winch and a permanent sleeping area.

What kind of engine does it have under the hood (bonnet)? Is it a diesel or gasoline?
Seattlecarnut 2 years ago
It was a gas engine.

Anymore videos of this rig planned?

Nice looking rig. I would love to have something like that for outback camping anywhere. Awesome!

thanks! It sure was an awesome ride... I miss it that's for sure!
Maybe some more videos of it coming - I have a lot of footage from that trip that I need to sort through.
